    I have owned this lens for only about five days. It is the most expensive lens I have ever purchased by many magnitudes, and I am using it on the most expensive camera I have ever purchased (the Sony A7 IV purchased from BB). That said, my impression after four days is simple: magic. This lens is so versatile, the images so sharp, at all magnifications, even out to the edges, and colors jump off the page. I can't believe I'm generating these gorgeous images; it's just magic. I happened to be in a position when I could splurge and treat myself to such an expensive canera lens, and I am totally pleased. I know I will learn a lot more on how best to use this lens, and will grow with this lens and camera, but the results so far have exceeded my expectations. Sony knocked it out of the park. Yes, you pay a high price for this lens, but the money has been well spent.

    I had the original version of this lens and am ecstatic with my upgraded purchase. This lens along with the 70-200 F2.8 GM II stay on my camera 95% of the time. Image quality is as if you are using a prime lens with the versatility of a zoom-what else could you want?

    I have always been a prime lens type of guy. Zoom lenses have always just been to big and apature/sharpness were sacrafised. This lens however has not came off my camera body. It has saved me time without compromising quality! Its expensive for a reason sony did great! Buy nice or buy twice.

    Absolutely great image quality at all focal lengths and apertures. Brought on a trip to Europe with an A7R5 (along with a Viltrox 16mm f/1.8 and the G Master 135mm f/1.8) and it was definitely the one on my camera for the vast majority of the time with it's versatility. It's certainly a very pricey lens, but will serve me for years and years to come without a doubt. I actually am not pining for any of the primes in this range at the moment as this f/2.8 is providing really excellent images with great separation. I definitely do not regret this purchase!

    Absolutely love this lens and in perfect conditions, photos are incredible. But if conditions are not perfect, I feel like it lacks.And that's where prime lenses are great but this is a great lens, I would not steer anyone away from it!
