I have limited space so I wanted to give this a go. The biggest issue, in my opinion, is drying. There's usually a musky, not so fresh smell when my close come out. I put in a few laundry sheets specified to remove pet hair. I've never had issues with my previous dyers and this does a terrible job. You can almost guarantee that most pet hair remains on your clothes which is dissapointing. I'm out of my return window and wish a went with a dual stack.

I had high hopes for this machine. A washer dryer combo like this makes you feel like you’re living in the future. But once the honeymoon phase wore off I started to witness many issues. Lint accumulation in the door seal was horrible. Then it wasn’t drying well I noticed what was causing it. The lint trap on top of the machine wasn’t catching all the lint and then it was accumulating on a heat sink to the right of the trap. It’s not easily accessible so I had to get my air compressor out and get in there with an air nozzle to blow the lint off the heat sink. Once I did that the clothes started drying again. But it happens after about 10 loads and I’ll have to do that process again. Sometimes it was stuck in dryer mode. With 8 mins left of the clock it would continue to dry until you stopped it. One time it was drying my clothes all night until I stopped it in the morning. It has cool features but it’s just not up to par. It’s way too finicky. I mean all we’re asking of it is to wash and dry the clothes. This is a situation where they put way too much tech into something that doesn’t need to be complicated and they ruined it. I’ve had it for almost 3 month and since I have a BB membership I have 60 days to return it and we will be returning it tonight. I’m so disappointed this didn’t work out because it’s such a cool concept.

Hello there, BenS. Thank you for sharing your experience with us. We understand that you're facing several issues with the LG WM6998HBA washer-dryer combo, and we truly appreciate your detailed feedback. It's clear that you've encountered lint accumulation and drying issues, as well as some malfunctioning during drying cycles. We want to ass ist you with this and explore potential solutions.
To address the lint issue, we recommend cleaning the lint filter more frequently and ensuring that the vent area is clear of any blockages. It may also help to run a cleaning cycle on the washer to prevent lint buildup over time. If the dryer mode continues unexpectedly, this could be related to a setting issue, which we can assist you with troubleshooting. https://www.bestbuy.com/site/lg-5-0-cu-ft-he-smart-mega-capacity-all-in-one-electric-washer-dryer-washcombo-with-steam-and-ventless-inverter-heat-pump-black-steel/6568166.p?skuId=6568166 For a more thorough examination and to explore solutions specific to your unit, please send us a private message on Social Media @LGUSSupport. Still learning to use it. The first few loads didn't come out super dry, but it is great to put the clothes in there and forget it. We had a few scratches on it when it was delivered so that was a bummer.

Context, house of 9, we kept our existing washer dryer and added this. My wife and I love it. We've decided if we ever had the money we would switch all of them to this. So far it's amazing. Quiet, clothes have been just right, and so so simple. Take into account, we prefer a fire and forget washing session bc we have so many times left clothes in the wash and not dried soon enough and our schedule is always wound up.

No issues just yet. So far it eliminates the need to get off and move my laundry to the dryer. I can set laundry times remotely to where I know. They will still be warm when I get home and not damp and stinky. My husband is in love with this machine so much so that he decided to renovate the whole laundry area to make way for this machine and make it look pretty. The clothes come out fine just like in our old machine.

Love the size and the features- the one issue I have is lent seems to build at the doorway seal . I’ve had this washer/ dryer about a month and noticed this after the first use. Nothing a wet rag can’t fix but I didn’t expect this.

Don't buy if you don't like cleaning lint

The washer does an ok job like any washer should. The dryer doesn't dry as much as a regular dryer but it is also ok. However, the amount of lint that accumulates at the door gasket is insane. Every time that I use the dryer I have to spend 8-10 min cleaning the door lint from the door gasket. If I knew that it would be like this I would not have bought it. This happened from the start. I contacted LG customer service multiple times and basically was told that this is how it is.

Hi there. Thank you for sharing your experience with the WM6998HBA. We understand that while the washer performs adequately, the dryer’s lint accumulation at the door gasket is causing significant inconvenience and that your previous interactions with customer service did not resolve the issue.
As a first step, please ensure that the lint filter and any additional filters are thoroughly cleaned after each use. Excess lint buildup can sometimes occur if the filters are not cleaned regularly. Additionally, checking if there’s any obstruction in the dryer’s venting system might help.
Please send us a private message on Social Media @LGUSSupport, and our team will be more than happy to assist you further in addressing this issue. We appreciate your patience. —Renzo

So, this machine is a game changer for laundry in a small household. Its like a slow cooker for laundry, load it up, push a button, then come back in 6 hours for a finished load of laundry, couldn't be easier. The maintenance though, at least if you have a pet, leaves a bit to be desired. Along with the typical lint filter that people should be used to cleaning with each wash, theres an additional one at the bottom of the unit that needs to be cleared after so many washes. Just removing that filter requires draining the machine of water, the issue is that the drain plug is so low, youre pretty much limited to using a cake pan to drain into, and it can take multiple pansfull to completely empty. Its a pretty annoying process that i dont think many people are going to be pleased about having to do. Worse than that though, is cleaning the heat pump fins. Fur can find its way through the lint filter, which leads right to the fins for the heat pump, where it collects. After awhile, 6 months in my case, that fur build up will prevent anything from drying, and requires manualy removing the fur/lint, which can only really be done with some minor disassembly, and i dont think most people are going to be thrilled about having to do that.

I just got this washer/dryer combo from LG this week and it’s amazing! Yes it does sometimes take a little longer to dry but I had a LG washer and dryer and the washer always went off balanced the last few years and the dryer never completely dried my clothes so this one does everything in about 2.5 hours. If you want a bigger washer/dryer this isn’t for you but I find it works great for our family. We just do laundry throughout the week.

Hi, Heather. Thank you for reaching out. We understand the importance of having your LG Wash Combo (WM6998HBA) model wash and dry effectively, and we appreciate you sharing what you’re experiencing with the drying performance. We want to help you get the best results from your unit.
One helpful step you can try is running the Dryer Performance Test found in the machine’s settings. This test helps identify whether the sensor‑dry system is detecting moisture correctly. Also, for combo units like the WM6998HBA, selecting a lower spin speed during the wash cycle can leave clothes wetter, so using High or Extra High spin before drying can significantly improve results. More guidance here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y6ZpcvjFcvo. If you need further assistance, please send us an email at [email protected]. We're here to help. ^Juvy

This combo unit works great for our lifestyle. No need to move laundry from one machine to the other. Set it and leave. It can take between 2 and 3 hours to complete a load but that is not a big concern for us. We watched a YouTube video to learn how to use it which was a big help. The app tells you when a load is done. It’s been great so far.
