My wife was having issues with her Galaxy watch, the geek squad assessed her watch and determined we could do a claim. They gave me money back in the form of a gift card in which I used to buy her the latest. Geek squad has always been one of the best protections

Excellent and easy to replace a broken watch. They have small batteries and have the potential to take damage easily. Last time I walked into BestBuy with a broken watch that was my fault and walked out with a new one still in the box. The extended warranty isn’t even debatable on a wearable. Buy it.

It has helped me in my short ownership of a smart watch in that I got a full refund for it being defective out-of-the-box because the watch was no longer being sold at Best Buy.
I would say that for a wearable, it's a necessity. You can never say when or what might happen to your watch, but you'll be covered for whatever and whenever it happens!

The plan was super simple to use, just bring the product in and tell them your account details. I have used this to replace a smart watch and wireless earbuds. Both times I was in and out of the store in 5 minutes.
If you get a product that might get damaged physically (or has a battery that might die), make sure to get the plan.

The watch is amazing the gps is precise, I am able to receive notifications, although not able to make calls it does let me know of any incoming calls.
