This TV was really a great buy and was on sale when we purchased it. It is by no means top of the line, but if you are looking for a TV with decent picture this is it. Remote is easy to use.

I'm loving my new tv. This is the perfect size for my living room. I didn't need too much in a tv but wanted this size and a great picture. I have absolutely no complaints and haven't had any issues with it! I highly recommend this tv!!

I first would like to say that I was treated like royalty when I entered the store in my area to purchase the TV for my daughter. I love the television and so does my daughter. Best purchase I have ever made. Thanks Best Buy!

I bought this for our new game room to watch sports while we play pool and darts. You don't have to get a "smart tv" It is perfect for a 2nd tv. I have Directv and plugged in a chromecast. This is the 2nd Insignia tv I purchased and have never have had any issues.

The TV so far (less than a week) has performed better than expected. Initially the picture quality at 1080i was pixelated. After researching, I found the issue was the SHARPNESS feature, it needed to be turned down to zero or close to zero to eliminate the pixelation. After making the adjustments, the picture quality is excellent and on par with more expensive 1080p models. The black are fine, the saturation levels are pretty true to the eye. The TV is 1080p capable but most of the regular TV, Satellite, and cable broadcast are in 1080i. The only time you get 1080p is watching a movie or ordering a movie in 1080p. I used my .edu coupon and received an additional $99 off of the $90 or so sale price. Paid $329 with tax. Well Worth it.
I would also recommend GOOGLING callibration settings to get the proper settings for the desired picture quality. I went to the insignia forum and saw a post by a TV installer that helped me properly calibrate my settings (http://community.insigniaproducts.com/t5/Televisions/Recommended-L260A13-Picture-Settings-Here/td-p/55748.)
Insignia products often have brand name internals (Samsung) for a much cheaper price. You don't need to spend top dollars to get a top quality picture.
It is only a 60hz TV, you probably will only slightly notice when watching fast paced live action sporting events or fast moving action movies but there are settings to try an minimize the so called "action blur".
With that said, I did come across a few posts that warned of Insignia TV's not lasting long and not functioning shortly after the 1 year warranty expires. DO YOUR DUE DILIGENCE. It could be a sporatic issue, who knows.

TV offers a great picture quality, large screen size, decent sound quality, and easy out of the box set up all for a budget price. Had a smaller Vizio that suddenly died and the repair cost was close to what the sale price of this tv was. Own another 42" Dynex and 55" Insignia which have both given me years of trouble free service, so deciding on another Dynex was fairly easy. Saw this advertised online at a sale price and in stock at my local Best Buy. Checked it out in person, and was hauling it home shortly afterwards. Overall happy with my choice for location it is being used. My only negative is having just 2 HDMI ports, though I was aware of that when buying. For where the TV is being used I can live with 2, but in today's time 3 should be the minimum standard. My 42 has 4, and 55 has 5.

I'm Blown Away

My Samsung 47" TV that I bought 5.5 years ago died. The cost to fix was about $300. At the time I paid about $2,100 for that television, and was none too pleased that such a large investment turned into a doorstop in a bit our five years.
I went to Best Buy and checked out some 55-60" TV's. All were in the $800-$1400 range. Then I got the Best Buy Deal of the Day e-mail. This Insignia 48" TV was $379. I went that day to the Best Buy on West 23rd Street in Manhattan and saw the set. It was mounted next to sets ranging from 47" to 55". I kept looking at the sets side-by-side, and for the life of me, couldn't see any difference.
I purchased the TV and it arrived five days later...free delivery from Best Buy. It was easy to setup with the stand. Setup instructions were coherent, with a colorful and detailed quick setup fold-out.
I have Fios, so the set defaults to either 1080i or 720p. The image was sharp and detailed, with absolutely terrific black levels. Frankly the picture blows away my old Samsung.
I hooked-up my Roku 3, and the set automatically switched to 1080p. My MLB At Bat games are stunning. Same with Netflix streaming. Additional kudos to the Roku 3 and its integrated Ethernet port. The streaming is much more consistant and considerably faster than the wi-fi.
Because I have the Roku, there isn't any need for a Smart TV. It is actually MHL (Mobile High Definition Link) compatible, and setup for the Roku Stick.
I'm OK with the paltry 2 HDMI ports because all I really use are the HDMI from the cable box and the Roku. I'm not a gamer and don't use this TV for DVD's. If I ever chose to, I could get an HDMI hub for about $12.00. I never knew why people made such a big deal out of a lack of HDMI inputs because it's so easy to expand them on the cheap.
As for the 60Hz, it's just fine. I've watched the NBA Playoffs, Stanley Cup Playoffs, and many Red Sox games and the Insignia has handled them beautifully.
Back in the day, I would have considered myself a videophile. I had a couple of Sony XBR's, and the images were stunning. Now this Insignia will suffice. Hopefully it will last for five or six years.
This is our second Insignia television. We also have a 32" 720p that is superb after a year. This 48" is a spectacular bargain, and frankly has a much better picture than Insignia's current 50" set, which can be bought on sale for $399.
In closing, I gave the Features part of the review an Excellent...because it had the features that I wanted. If you require a Smart TV with 5 HDMI inputs, 240Hz and a full LED array, then this obviously isn't for you. But it gives me everything that I desire in a larger LED TV.

I'm not a tech savvy person so was pleased at how easy it was to set this up. the tv stand was very easy to put together, and actually hooking the TV up to my existing digital cable setup was even easier. And the picture on the TV is just great!!! I mean I got my use out of my old dinosaur bulky huge TV, but this flatscreen takes up way less space and for the size of the screen is very lightweight so you don't have to worry about hurting yourself getting it set up.

Bought a new insignia 48" LED 1080p,.. works great!! set up is a breeze, the only thing I could possibly complain about is that the remote doesn't light up at night to find the buttons. Other than that, buy one! you won't regret it.. I was iffy on buying a brand I hadn't heard of before,.
It's better than samsung and my rca !!

This model replaced a 40" picture tube TV that lasted 16 years. Nice to be able to see all of the picture in the wide screen format for movies and cable TV. Very easy to set up. Lightweight for cleaning or adding connections. I would recommend this TV for the price and value.

I chose this TV for my Grandsons for their playroom since they needed a much bigger one for their games and to be put on the wall. The quality is very good and the sale price was the best around for a 48". They were extremely happy with their Christmas present!!

The picture is very good after some minor tweaking of the color and brightness (for example, set to "warm" color, as normal was too bluish). There is no noticeable motion blur, which was something I was afraid of on a 60Hz refresh set.
Of course this is a "dumb" TV, but it works well with Chromecast or probably any other streaming device. We use sound through an external amp and surround speakers, so I've never even tried the built in speakers.

I've been looking for a larger TV to replace my 32" for some time now but I didn't want to break the bank either. I ran across this one and thought it was priced just right with everything I wanted. Then I was lucky enough to find an open box one for less than $300. I have had it for a little over a month now and love it. No problems so far plus great picture and sound. I bought a soundbar and don't even need it because the TV is loud enough on its own. I couldn't be happier. Now I'm not a tech savvy person so my review is based on my limited knowledge of all the fancy new things out there. I don't have cable just a roku stick and dvd player and I've been very happy with my new TV!

Purchased for our basement family room where our 17 year old son and buddies hand out. Wanted something low cost but functional. Picture is much better than the more expensive 50 inch tv in our main living room.
