The controller is amazing. I got it because I needed a better option than having a controller for each device I use (laptop, phone, tablet, Switch) and this solves that. Being able to toggle which mode to use with a physical switch is great. The Android app needs work but I haven't had any issues with the Window version. The button layout is for Nintendo but you can buy the XBox layout buttons from their site.

NES/SNES player? This is the way

Was between this and an Xbox controller for my Mac. Decided to go with 8BitDo after hearing great reviews on older controllers. If you play retro games (especially Nintendo), this is the way to go. The D-Pad is nearly identical to NES/SNES. Also pleasantly surprised to feel a rumble when connecting to my Mac. This thing is awesome.

Love this controller so I bought another one thinking it would work with my PS3. Turns out, it does not.

I purchased this item to play some games on my Windows PC. I had Windows 11 installed on my old Alienware PC, and I could not get the PC to recognize the game pad. I tried multiple configurations, and just couldn’t get it to work. I then reverted my PC to Windows 10 and the game pad connected perfectly! I did reconfigure the game pad buttons to align them with an Xbox controller for the PC, and it works great. Very easy to assign the buttons. I also use this game pad to play our Nintendo Switch with my son. The game pad was instantly recognized by the Switch and there is no lag while playing. Recommend!

This thing feels awesome. It is easy to weary of third party controllers, but 8bitdo has been making great products. This controller feels like a cross between a SNES and PS1 controller and is quite comfortable. I just wish it could wake up my Switch.

Growing up, I always preferred Playstation controllers over XBox controllers, and finding a third party product with a familiar layout for PC was a bit of a challenge. Most other products had cheaper feeling build qualities, latency issues, and battery life problems. NOT HERE! the 8BitDo Pro 2 is a killer little controller thats compatible with PC, XBox, Switch, and mobile phones (including apple devices)! i havent had a single problem in over two years of owning this controller.

I got this as an open box, and I really just wanted an extra controller for an Android phone. It worked perfectly out of the box, and the open aspect was not a problem at all. I like just about every aspect of it. One thing I didn't know about was the little switch on the back where you can change its mode between 1 of 4 options. This is critical for Android, otherwise the buttons are unintuitive by default (B is confirm, A is back). Once I figured this out from the instructions, it worked great. One complaint I have is that the extra buttons on the back can easily be hit by mistake, and they seem to default to actually do something, but I like the flexibility. Also, I believe the triggers are digital and not analog (not the bumpers but the triggers) but I could be wrong about that. This does everything I need it for though (retro gaming). My main controller is still the 8BitDo SN30, but this is good for a change and has some nice grips (specifically asked for by my daughter).

This is without a doubt a very comfortable controller. I really like that it comes with a rechargeable battery or you can power it with 2XAA batteries. My reasoning for 4 stars is that lately I'm having trouble with connection. It randomly drops or tries to resynch, and sometimes the controller needs to be recalibrated because everything can get a little wonky. The software is pretty cool and it is easy to update any firmware, change button layout, etc. I really wish it didn't drop connection as frequently as it has cause otherwise this could easily be a 5 star review.

Honestly one of the best feeling after market controllers ive ever owned. Easy to pair and set up. And if you wanna use it on multiple types of devices, it has memory for one of each device so you just have to flip a switch on yhe back.

Best controller I’ve bought so far. For an off brand controller it’s extremely well built and does everything the normal controller can do. Definitely worth the price of admission

My only disappointment with this is that the delivery was delayed for a day, but the controller is as good as it's said to be. I'm glad I ordered this one instead of the SN30+ because it's still useable with the PS3, but it has extra buttons, which have come to be useful. The packaging was also undamaged and it looks pretty good. All of the buttons and joysticks work with no problem, and the controller feels nice and heavy for its size.

I’ve used this so far with my switch pc and iPad and it works quite well with both my only complaint is that I’ve had problems connecting it via wires connection on both platforms other than that it’s a great controller. If you use it on switch I recommend turning off rumble since it vibrates crazy especially when playing splatoon 3 for instance. I specifically recommend this for the d-pad it’s really quite good for retro gaming.

Needed a controller for the kids to use with the RasberryPi, this works perfectly. Was easy to connect and the battery last for days. Previously bought something cheaper from Amazon and the kids had nothing but problems. These were more expensive but work great.

This is a great control. You can apparently “register” it and switch between a few devices which is cool. It reminds me of a PlayStation controller. The build feels premium and fits great in the hand. It has a good weight to it but nothing that would make you tired from holding it for long periods of time. I’m glad I went with this option as opposed to one of the Switch pro controllers.

One of the best controllers I've evere bought, after buying this one i had to go back for the lite and the 8bitdo ultimate. Theyre good controllers with alot of functions, plus the compatibility over multiple devices and the ability to edit keybinds whenever with the app is useful!
