This laptop doesn’t download almost anything. Don’t buy this if it’s for children around the ages of 8-15. Especially don’t if it’s for children that play Roblox, this computer won’t support it, as well as with Steam, Origins (Sims 4). NONE of these download... so it’s pretty useless depending on what you want it for, if you only need it for studying and school definitely buy this. If it’s for gaming DO NOT. ALSO even that 6 month internet security software they provide won’t download (I know Chrome has it’s own protection on it) but nothing will download on a Chrome, it makes it kind useless because who doesn’t want to play games on their laptop?

Yes, the Chromebook devices do have an end of life date, as this applies to all Chromebooks regardless of manufacturer. While Chromebooks are designed to have automatic updates, as Google explains: "end-to-end updates for all our devices to ensure the highest levels of security requires dependencies on many third-party hardware and software providers so we cannot indefinitely ensure that older Chrome devices will receive updates to enable new OS and browser features."

We are sorry you are unhappy with your Acer Chromebook. Unfortunately Roblox and Steam are not natively supported by Chromebooks. Chromebooks are different from Windows laptop products in that they are designed to be used primarily while connected to the Internet, with most applications and documents living in the cloud. Because of this they don’t have much for on board storage but they also are not expensive either. Chromebooks run off apps like an Android phone or tablet so you cannot download and install applications or .exe files. If you need to use third party software applications that must be installed on the computer, a Chromebook is likely not for you, where a Windows laptop would suit you better.

Sold me a useless plan

Offered a protection plan so I got it only to find it doesn't work with chrome. Sat on hold for over an hour a day for a week just to be hung up on. Poor service.
