This laptop was exactly what I was looking for. I needed a laptop with Windows 7 and a big screen and it has both. Processor is fast enough. Love that it has the 10-key number pad on the right side of the keyboard. Only thing that is not up to par is the microphone for the webcam. I'm not sure what the problem is but it is not good. No biggie though.

When my 88-year-old mother's six-year-old Toshiba laptop, with Windows 7 and Office 2010, failed two months ago, I knew she would in no way be able to survive a move to Windows 10 and Office 2016. I thought for sure I would have to find another used replacement laptop, I'm SO glad that I thought about looking on Best Buy's website first. Much to my surprise, BB was selling a brand new, 17-inch Acer featuring Windows 7, and was even willing to sell a Geek Squad extended service contract on it despite its obsolete operating system. We were able to set up Windows 7 and Office 2010 so that the few programs Mom does use, like Outlook, look and act just like they did on her old Toshiba, and we were able to move all of her pictures and documents over. Now she is happy as a clam knowing that she doesn't have to fret about learning a significantly different operating system, and that she has a service-protected laptop that will likely last as long as she wants to/can use it. I am very grateful that a reliable store like BB was willing to sell a new computer with an outdated operating system under extended warranty, so that I could orchestrate a smooth transition for Mom. FYI, I am checking YES in terms of recommending this laptop, but it is really only appropriate for individuals who have no need or desire to keep up with rapidly changing computer technology. (I am 61 and am reticently, haltingly learning Windows 10 and Office 365 on my new notebook, because I need to do so for my work...) :-)

Great price for a large screen and decent processor. It was a gift for my daughter who was not ready to transition to Windows 8, so special purchased the Acer with Windows 7 installed. I imagine it would not perform well for heavy duty gaming, but for what she uses it for it is perfect. Acer has never let me down and everything is working great.

The laptop has a big screen and keyboard which makes doing creative writing easier. However, I bought this particular unit because it had Windows 7. I prefer it to Windows 8, so I searched high and wide to find a computer which had the older windows. Very happy with purchase.

Got this behemoth for my girlfriend going back to school. Screens nice and big, works great and has windows 7! Not super fast but I don't mind

This is an amazing laptop! It had everything that we needed, and some of the great things are: Full size keyboard, Expandable RAM, not a lot of bloat ware, fast, and plays DVD and streaming video perfectly. For us the best feature was that it came with Windows 7! Many of the new PC's come with the disastrous and much maligned Windows 8. The only disappointment was that it didn't come with a recovery CD, you have to make it yourself.

Had an older Acer desktop years ago. When it finally went, I decided to get a laptop. Gone thru 2 Toshibas and an HP, and wanted to try an Acer. Have been very happy with my Aspire 17.3 . It's running Windows 7, which is a plus for me. 4GB memory and 500GB hard drive is more than plenty for the average user. Plenty of room for music and photos. Highly recommend this computer to anyone looking for great setup on a budget.

This computer fills my requirements. I wanted something to check email and do searches. I needed a dvd/cd player/recorder and everything works as expected. The color and pictures are amazing. The only thing missing is the back light on the keyboard but I knew that was not included on this laptop. Overall I am very satisfied with my purchase.

I was looking for a laptop with a lower price that could give me the necessary items like web-surfing, run everyday needed program software without being bogged down. It has the new faster 3.0 USB jacks for faster printing and accessory usage. This Acer Aspire is truly a great laptop to have if you don't need the higher end, resource hogging business laptop. Also, Acer is a high quality, good priced, everyday use of a computer manufacturer. I will be purchasing other Acer laptops for members of my family in the near future. You can't go wrong with the Acer Aspire model laptop.

I originally purchased a HP 17" windows 8 laptop. I liked nothing about it , Some people like windows 8, I am not one of them. I bought the Acer because of it's screen size and it had windows 7.Pricier than the HP but I am very happy with it.I wanted to open the box and not have to learn a new OS.

I bought this for a friend and was instantly impressed with the speed. I bought the unit because there are not many affordable choices for a 17" laptop with windows 7. The screen is large and impressive and for your basic needs this computer will serve you very well with more than enough speed and power.

Wanted a computer running windows 7 as much of my software is older and will not run on windows 8. Just what I needed

Love Windows 7, being able to burn cd/dvd's. Great investment.

I bought this laptop to have my wife use as her main laptop, as her former laptop was beyond its usefulness. It seemed nice when I got it and uploaded my wife's tax program. However, I had a problem trying to connect this to my wireless printer. I tried just about everything I could, but just couldn't connect it. So, I took it to Best Buy Geek Squad to see if they could help me connect. I no sooner put it on the counter and told the employee that I just bought this through Best Buy that he said, "you couldn't have just bought this, this computer is several years old" I was floored. I thought I had purchased a new laptop that was capable of connecting to my printer wirelessly. I immediately went and bought a new laptop (from Best Buy) and have recently sent this back for refund.

This machine has done everything I had hoped for. Nice large screen, clarity is excellent, have not experienced any problems and highly recommend for those looking to stay away from Win 8 and thoroughly enjoy the win 7 experience.

The large scene makes it easy on the eyes for working long hours.

I would tell everyone to buy one, I love it, I purposely ordered it with windows 7, I don't like windows 10, I love it

Large screen is great but on the down side it isn't quite as portable as a smaller unit. Fits into my soft leather brief case bag just fine. Personally I hate touch pads so I run a wireless mouse.

This is the first computer that I have purchased that was not a Dell. It has a nice keyboard and good screen. So far it is running as well as any Dell I have owned.
