Customers are saying

Customers admire the Helios 300's performance in gaming, with many citing its ability to run games smoothly and deliver high frame rates. However, some users noted that the laptop can get warm during use and that the fan noise is noticeable under heavy load. The positive feedback on gaming performance outweighs the concerns about heat and noise for many buyers.

Over all I've had this laptop for over 10 months it's been great there never been an issue with it, it does heat up really fast if there too many task open but i believe that might be normal the only thing i might like is that it heats up so badly that it almost burn when you play games it does it happen when it's a game like (among us) but like apex & other games that use the RTX Card the key bored burn a little...

This model is a great successor to the last “red” version from last year. Still gamer-look, so I might keep this out of the boardroom. But the options are great: great lighting control on keyboard. Keyboard features a number pad which is nice as an option but may make the keyboard feel cramped to some. Mostly plastic exterior so it’s light, but feels a little cheap even with the great styling - might just be preference. But that case savings allowed for great options like a display port output up to 240hz. The screen 144hz was excellent for anything gaming you through at it, and the 2060, while requiring some noisy fan work, held up well as long as it was tethered to the AC adapter. Gaming will suffer significantly if you play with higher settings without the plug as you will be limited to throttled back settings. Comparing to ASUS TOG GU502 the case felt cheap (GU502 uses magnesium) and the fan noise under load was louder and more piercing. That said, if you’re gaming with headsets, it’s just the people around you that have to worry about noise. All said, on sale this is gonna be one of the best deals for a laptop in this segment and is going to be one you can keep around for awhile without getting into the higher price tiers of the 2070/2080 video cards.

This is a very solid laptop. I use a laptop cooler when I am playing games for a long period of time or when overclocking, I get an average of 100 frames at high settings in apex and in rust I get 70 frames both at 1080p. The only thing this laptop doesn't perform outstandingly well in is VR, it runs games like beat saber and population one no problem but once you get into half life: alyx, it is another story. It was still very playable but not very smooth and caused me to get sick at times. I definitely recommend to overclock the cpu and the gpu when playing VR for the best experience. Also always play games with it plugged in. BENCHMARKING: I used a benchmarking software called UNIGINE Heaven Benchmarking, it got a score of 3900 with max fps of 307 on High Quality Settings 1080p. I also tested with tessellation on and ultra quality settings at 1080p and it got a score of 2400 while overclocking. Overall extremely good laptop.

I about this because I was well overdue for an upgrade from my alienware 14. It boots up fast and I run any game smoothly it does get really warm when I was playing GTFO. But I'm really happy overall.

I bought this to do some gaming in my spare time on the go. It plays the games I want, can get a little loud and warm but I expected that.

It’s a great laptop. Love using it. It gets good FPS and runs very smoothly and fast. Runs games great. I would recommend an external hard drive if you intend to download more storage heavy games like call of duty other than that a great gaming laptop all around.

This is aq great entry levele laptop and scores higher than the HP Omen I had with a 2070 in it. However the screen is smaller than I realized and I wish I had purchased a 17 inch. Also knocking a star off because it can get kind of noisy under load.

So far no issues! I repasted and noticed a nice drop in temps. It handled VR nicely, but the power brick of course got hot, just a heads up. Very happy with my purchase thus far.
