Very pleased with this "thin and light" version of the Neo 16. It's about 19mm thick (0.75"). About the same as a Macbook Pro or a Zephyrus G16, although it does have an extra 1" sticking out the back behind the hinge. GPU performance is comparable to the Zephyrus, but CPU performance in the Neo 16S is about 50% higher, due to the 275HX CPU.
Screen is beautiful, keyboard is a pleasure to type on, with no discernable flex under normal typing. Build quality is excellent. The case does attract fingerprints.
The laptop has a 240Hz display, confirmed in Windows, even though both the inner box and the outer carton says 165Hz display.
Note that the GPU and CPU are slightly power limited by Acer due to the cooling limitations imposed by the slim chassis. So this laptop will be about 10% slower than, say, a Strix or other full-sized laptop. But that's the same tradeoff you'd make with a Zephyrus.
All tests were done in Turbo mode. Click on the links ahd hit Details to see average CPU and GPU temps, etc. 3dMark doesn't display the complete temp graphs from the runs online, but I have them if anyone has questions or wants me to post a graph from a particular test. Temperatures never got out of hand. CPU usually hovered around 100C during the most intense parts of the benchmarks and sometimes hit 103C, but that was rare. Intel allows the CPU to get as hot as 105C before it throttles. It hovers around 60C at idle. So that does eat into battery life. But battery life is comparable to other similarly powered laptops (with same CPU and GPU).

I installed a WD Black SM850X 2TB SSD in the second m.2 slot. That's where I keep my Steam library.
3dMark Direct Storage results for that SSD in this laptop:
13.74 GB/s Direct Storage on
4.75 GB/s Direct Storage off

This laptop has exceeded my expectations. It’s surprisingly thin for a gaming machine, yet still offers plenty of USB ports and overall connectivity.
Temperatures are solid for the hardware: it idles around 45–55°C, and during gaming on max settings it typically stays between 77–81°C, with brief spikes up to 100°C. While it runs on the hotter side, performance hasn’t been affected, and these levels are still within safe operating limits according to Intel and NVIDIA. All temperatures were tracked using MSI Afterburner, rather than relying only on the pre-installed software.
I also use a dual-fan cooling pad, which I highly recommend for any gaming laptop—it helps keep temps more stable during extended sessions.
Overall, the Predator Helios Neo 16S offers great performance in a slim design, and it performs better than I expected. This would receive a 5 star but the software is a bit buggy at times, mostly at startup or waking from hibernation.

I got this for my son at college who is a computer science major. His 2 in one laptop screen cracked so this is all he has right now to use in class. He likes it a lot. I told him we can get him another 2-in-1 but he said this is working fine for now. I was worried it would be too heavy for him to carry but he is fine carrying it in his school backpack bag.

I’m really impressed with this laptop. It’s fast, quiet, and handles everything I throw at it—from everyday work to gaming. The screen quality is sharp and bright, the keyboard feels great, and the overall build is solid. Setup was easy and it’s been running smoothly since day one. Definitely worth the purchase.

The laptop is fabulous for those of us looking for the most power to our buck. Plays modern games flawlessly and the oled is beautiful. Please know-
The laptop needs to be plugged in to perform in gaming. I personally expect this but see people complain. Battery lasts a few hours doing regular tasks, but of course youll have to have wall power if you want wall power level performance.
Speakers arent great. Dont sound bad, i wear headphones sometimes anyway, but they arent gonna win any sound awards, for sure. Again, doesnt bother me, but just dont go into it expecting 3D dolby surround (haha)
But mostly besides these small caveats, you cant find a better computer for a better price right now. Definitely dont regret at all.

This Machine is a beast! Been doing hours of photo and video editing and high end gaming. I run Davinci Resolve on this with 4k footage no problem, just make sure you're cables are up to snuff. I was getting choppy footage from my Samsung T5 then realized i needed an upgraded usb cable, now it's super fast, no latency! Playing Silent Hill f on max settings, woot! Bought a cooling pad for it, but it's built in cooling system is pretty good! I don't recommend doing prolonging demanding tasks without a pass though. Was worried about the build quality, but as long as you are mindful and aware, keep it in a laptop bag, your shouldn't have any issues. Overall, a great purchase! This is now my out of town powerhouse for my video projects and gaming!

powerful gaming laptop built for gamers who want strong performance without jumping to ultra-premium prices. It’s designed to handle modern games, competitive esports titles, and heavy multitasking with ease. really shines when it comes to performance. Powered by Intel Core i9 processors and NVIDIA GeForce RTX GPUs, it delivers smooth gameplay at high to ultra settings. Games like Dota 2, Valorant, Call of Duty, and Cyberpunk 2077 run well, especially when paired with DLSS on RTX models.Wowowoww ❤️

I was quite surprised by how good this laptop was. I usually think of bidget materials when it comes to acer laptops, but this one feels very premium. Im honestly amazes at the build quality. The laptoo is a bit wider than normal laptops so i doesnt fit in my bag but thats fine. The cooling is very good to. But to be safe i still got a laptop cooler. The laptoo being at 240hz always isnt a big deal for me, but thats something to keep in mind. It has a lot of ports and i appreciate the SD card slot being there still. The only thing that stopped this from being perfect is the software. I just wish they had something like armory crate and g helper. I would love to set wattage limits on the cpu and gpu and have custom profiles. The software for gaming mods is very barebones and you cant set your own fan curves. But these are not deal breakers. I was gonna purchase a laptop cooler regardless. For it being $1899 this is almost reasonably priced. Everything else is 600$ more. If this ever goes on sale for 1599 or 1699 get it. The software wont be perfect, but the build quality and hardware is incredible. 4.5 stars.

Good computer, just the battery seems to not be as long as I had hoped for. The screen is nice. Sounds well, has good adjustment, and is very easy to work with.

This Predator literally changed my workflow. I use it every day - work, media, gaming and it handles everything with zero issues. The display is sharp, the keyboard feels great, and the system stays cool even during heavy use. Fast startup, fast loading, no lag anywhere. I didn’t expect this level of stability for the price. If you’re looking for something powerful and dependable, this is the one I’d recommend without hesitation.

This purchase was for my 17yo daughter. While not a huge gamer, she likes them to look and play well when she does. I wanted a powerful laptop for gaming as well as one that she could use for college next fall. I did not give it 5 stars for a couple reasons, for the power it has, I don’t think it has adequate cooling. It sits on a cooling dock with one 120mm and four 40mm fans and still is quite warm when playing Minecraft on max or Hogwarts Legacy. Other than the known annoyance of not being able to reduce the refresh rate on the internal screen so it uses less battery unplugged the only other display related issue is even though it is connected to the correct display port. It sometimes will not either recognize the external display which is a 34” curved Acer Nitro monitor when awaking from sleep or from powered off or it will not connect to the Nvidia GPU and it requires being unplugged and plugged in to connect the monitor to the GPU in the NVIDIA app. Graphics are amazing and when the Acer Nitro headset is connected with the 3.5mm cable they sound better than my Corsair Virtuoso Max or my old Logitec Pros. Both were 5 times the cost of the Acer headset. So in closing I would definitely recommend this laptop. I bought this Predator 16S for two main reasons, the great price and the 5070ti 12gb GPU. The i9 250x is a big plus as well but one reason it runs so warm! Anyway, I hope this helps!!

Screen is amazing, it is a very fast computer, but looks like the drivers does not work properly with the hardware. It has a tunderbolt / display port USB-C, in my set-up I need to constantly be unpluging and repluging to make it work properly. It is just unstable. Also the Bios options are very restrictive and the UI is very slow and not responsive.

I bought this laptop, and this configuration is hard to find for under $2,000. The performance is excellent and offers great value for the price. The speakers and build quality are slightly cheaper, but aside from that, everything is superb. Overall, it’s definitely worth every penny for a poor computer Science student like me who is trying to run some simulation. :3

Awesome oled display!
Locked refresh rate of 240hz but plays gta 5 and fallout 4 well enough although it jas affected some fallout 4 gameplay, it gets real hot even with a cooling pad after multiple hours of gaming.
I also keep having windows error issues where ive had to reinstall twice, Probably wouldnt buy it again.

The only downside to this laptop is that you cannot change the refresh rate on the screen, but as someone who always has it plugged in, it is perfect for me. I use it everyday and have had no issues so far, the GPU can run any game no problem and the AI CPU is a very cool and new feature that I am still getting used to. The AI CPU has helped me a lot with online school and helps me get a better understanding of the topics I read. Overall I would definitely recommend this product to you as it is the best "bang for your buck" coming with a 5070ti and a H-275X.

Light weight, mobile, power, comfortable, beautiful HDR OLED display. For less than two grand, its 100% worth the price. Though you should always bring a charger on you, gaming laptops battery don't last very long.
