I wanted a laptop that I could do both work and play. This one seemed to fit the bill. For the price, it has a very good processor, expandable ram, and Oled screen. For work, this breezes through ms office, and any other work apps you are using without breaking a sweat. For gaming this machine is a BEAST. I had to research a lot of machines, understand processors and their hierarchies and generations and what level or ram is needed for smooth gaming. This machine gives you that. With 32 gb stock ram, the games download fast (depending on your download speed) and run easy. Acer gives you an additional spot to add another 32 and make it 64 g machine. The oled screen is so perfect, the colors, the contrast, the detail and it has a high refresh rate at 240hz. The other machines were offering half that at 120. The higher the refresh rate, the easier on the eyes. Moreover this machine is eye safe certified. Digital eye strain is real. You feel it after. My old machines (non gaming) would always irritate my eyes. So far since my purchase I can look on the screen with ease and this is HUGE plus for me. The keyboard has a number pad that is compact and handy. You can change the backlit patterns too. The only criticism I have is that the fans are loud and the machine gets warm quick. You will definitely need a quality cooling pad. The battery life isn't good because the processor consumes a lot of energy. Lastly, 1 tb will fill quick so think about getting a separate hard drive to add more games.

Great hardward compromized by form factor

TL;DR - Good build quality, amazing screen, terrible performance, noise levels, and battery life. You'd do better to find a regular 5070 laptop that's able to use it's full 140watt TDP. Ultimately I returned this laptop because of too many compromises, but if you're just playing eSports titles or older games and never use it unplugged for any notable length of time, it can be a good option for the price. I was looking to upgrade from my 2024 HP Omen 16 with a RTX 4070 in hopes of getting a laptop ahead of the inevitable price surge from the rampocolypse we're in. Upgrading to a 5070 Ti seemed like a solid win, but boy was I disappointed. First, the good: Screen (kind of) - The OLED screen really does look amazing. As someone who's never owned a computer with an OLED screen, it was a huge upgrade. Gaming laptops also make pretty decent machines for processing astrophotography photos, so the additional clarity and brightness was a huge win. Form Factor - thin for a gaming laptop but is a bit bigger in footprint to get some extra, much needed cooling. Keyboard/Trackpad: Keyboard is nice to type on and the RGB lighting was totally fine. Trackpad I'd put as "fine"; it's perfectly usable but not particularly great. Overall build quality was surprisingly good for this price point. Now for the bad: Performance: This machines performance is entirely knee-capped by the form factor and power limitations. Even at 1080p (the resolution of my 4070 laptop), the 5070 Ti performed WORSE than the 4070 in every aspect; not just benchmarks, but real and noticeably worse in video games. The big difference is due to power: my HP Omen 4070 laptop can use the chip's full 140watt TDP, where as this one is limited to 115 watts. There's already barely any difference in performance between the 40 and 50 series GPUs, so this power limitation has a massively negative affect on performance. If you're playing at the monitor's native 1600p resolution, then be prepared for even worse performance if you don't lower graphic quality settings. In Cyberpunk, while DLSS and Frame Gen were an optional to use on my 4070 laptop, they are a requirement for this one, and the performance is still worse. Noise: At idle when plugged in and set to eco mode, the fans still run pretty much constantly, and while aren't loud, they are loud enough to be noticed. If I want to use most of the capabilities of the already limited 115watt 5070Ti, I'll set Acer's software to Performance mode, but then the fans are loud all the time, and significantly louder than my previous laptop. Basically this is a super loud laptop if you actually use it for gaming. The only way I could get the fans to be quiet was to have the laptop unplugged, in Windows Battery Saver mode, and with Acer's software set to eco. Battery Life: Also terrible, at least before tinkering. This is a gaming laptop so I don't expect it to be great, but as others have pointed out, you can have the laptop just idling and not doing anything, and still watch the battery % drop quickly. I was able to improve it noticeably by forcing Windows to use Battery Saver as soon as the power is unplugged, and, oddly enough, enabling HDR and going through the HDR calibration. Those two changes improved battery life from about 75 minutes before implementing, to 140 minutes after, but that was just me doing basic web browsing without even streaming video. Screen: While the OLED screen looks amazing, it's refresh rate is stuck at 240hz which contributes significantly to the terrible battery life. Windows doesn't recognize any additional refresh rate options and there's no alternative drivers you can install that will change that. It is, as best, firmware-limited to 240hz.

I already have a console at home so I was looking for a portable device and this product is excellent for the money. It has a sleek design and OLED display is fantastic. From performance wise I think having a less powerful version of the graphic card is not much of a big deal. It still has plenty of power yet easy to carry on. It's really like a trade-off between performance and portability and I personally do not like to carry bulky notebooks just for some extra ~15% performance. DLSS 4 frame generation just works excellent for most of the modern games and this device is ready to play any game seamlessly on 2k resolution with high frame rates. Only downside of this product could be that the internal display is locked on to 240Hz refresh rate. This can drain the battery quite fast.

    Best Bang For Your Buck

Extremely strong laptop at the best price. Not only on paper but in straight performance. Ran Cyberpunk 2077 on the highest setting possible with Ray Tracing, I was getting an average of 80 fps to 120 fps max, lows at 55 fps but rare. Insane performance that can handle basically everything. It’s as if I’m bringing my PC anywhere I go now. If this is on sale, don’t hesitate to buy it, it’s the best one you can honestly go for. It’s also really light which is great for travel compared to my old gaming laptop which was Lenovo. My only “issue” with this is the battery life, just like every review on here. Battery life is horrid if you aren’t plugged in to an outlet and you’re playing games. If you’re using it for regular office work and you aren’t plugged into an outlet then it isn’t bad, it’ll last you a couple of hours. Another nuisance I suppose is when you turn the laptop on, it makes a sound effect of what sounds like a jet engine which isn’t really ideal when you're in silent places like a library or a classroom. I’ve read somewhere that you can turn it off but I haven’t done it yet. Overall, amazing laptop! I would highly recommend it!

This is my 2-week review. This laptop has a number of excellent strong points to recommend it. First is performance - this is one of the better priced RTX 5070Ti laptops and it performs very well with the latest games. The screen is perhaps the laptop's best feature - it is such an upgrade from the IPS gaming laptop screens of just a few years ago. I love gaming on it and watching shows/youtube. Size is also a plus. This laptop fits in my bag for overnight trips and is only slightly larger than the 2021 Asus Zephyrus G15 it replaced. The keyboard is great - no complaints at all, and I personally appreciate the addition of the 10-key. This is my first laptop with a Windows Hello camera, and I had no idea what I was missing out on. It is so convenient and so much more reliable than the fingerprint reader on my Zephyrus. There are a few issues that I consider compromises. First, the speakers aren't great - they have no bass and I would describe them as tinny. This was a huge downgrade from my old Zephyrus, but they are "ok" and I often use headphones anyway. The trackpad is pretty mid for the price - tracking is fine, but it's plastic and another downgrade from the Zephyrus. Since I almost exclusively use an external mouse, this doesn't matter that much to me. Screen lid opening is just okay - it feels like you really need two fingers to get a good grip under the lid. Battery life is also poor, but my machine spends most of its time plugged in anyway. Issues I've had: the machine comes with a lot of bloatware, but 20 minutes in the settings menu uninstalling unwanted software will fix that. My biggest problem I've had has been with Advanced Optimus. Some games need to be manually switched in the Nvidia Control Panel to use the discrete GPU or they'll default to the integrated chip and run super slow. I was also getting BSODs every day while browsing (Brave browser) until I turned off hardware acceleration in the browser. To be fair, I had these same Optimus issues on my Zephyrus and I believe they're fairly common. To get a 5070Ti laptop with this good an OLED screen is going to involve some compromises, and, for me, it's been worth it. I've really enjoyed the machine so far.

This machine is fantastic for gaming, playing games at full resolution and ultra settings looks amazing on the oled screen: smooth motion, vibrant colors, and great detail. I actually prefer playing games on this to the gaming desktop pc I built even though it is not quite as powerful: and with all the peripherals you need for a gaming experience on desktop, this was actually a fantastic deal at around $1500. That being said: don’t think of it as a laptop, more a portable desktop. Which it excels at. It has poor battery life, and the keyboard gets hot, the bottom very hot. The fan noise is not as bad as some gaming laptops.

I piced up mine with a 5070ti from Best Buy for $1,449, which in my opinion is an outstanding deal for a 5070ti wirh 32gb ram and an OLED 240Hz refresh rate display! Initially, I got carried away listening to all the commets and youtube videos talking about battery life and not being able to adjust the refresh rate and almost returned it. But you know, after using it for 2 months its really a non-issue. First of, you cannot get nearly close to max performance with any gaming laptop unplugged, and as far as day to day tasks, I can’t remeber the last time i had to use a laptop for more than 3 or 4 hours not being near an electrical outlet (and you dont have to charge it using the giant brick, if youre going to work in a coffee shop for more than 4 hours, you can charge it via USB as well). If I hadn’t heard about the issue, I probably wouldnt have noticed. As far as its performance, i cant complain, it plays every game i play effortlessly, I can easily and quicly render Devinci Resolve and CAD and SolidWorks work seemlessly. Anything close was $600, and for that I dont need a fancy chassis and 24 zone RGB. Love th laptop.

After 2 months of use, I can say I made a good decision. The laptop is of a very good quality, and feels premuim. The good: -Very good performance when it comes to gaming. -Amazing responsive Screen. -High quality build. -Predator sense is good, I can control temps easily. -Light and easy to carry. -Great keyboard, and plenty of ports. The bad: -Disappointing battery life. Worse than my 6years old Predator!! On Youtube, you wont get 2 hours! Seriously Acer, fix the 240hz screen issue. -Sound is good but very low. Again worse than my older laptop! As a gamer/writer, the laptop is doing the job for me. The screen is unreal! The laptop is really capable. If they fix the battery issue by allowing us to lower the screen refresh rate, I would say its a 5 star choice.

On paper, this is without a doubt the best bang for the buck laptop on the market as of writing this review. A 5070Ti and a STUNNING OLED panel for under $1,500 was a steal. When this thing runs, it's an absolute dream. When it runs... First issue - Heat. A thin and light is expected to get hot but sweet lord this thing was spike to 90c opening a word document. Fans? Dead silent or Cat 4 hurricane, your choice. The "manual" fan contol is a slider with no spectrum on it. You can set it to the lowest setting and still ramp to 5000 rpm because the laptop said "That's a nice suggestion, but no thanks" Due to that heat, I attempted to look for some power management settings. The settings in the predator sense app have very vague names such as Quiet, Balanced, Performance, and Turbo. Quiet is indeed, quiet. The latter 3 all perform relatively the same with a different fan profile and slightly different boost clocks. I never once saw the Ultra 9 275HX boost over 4.3ghz, even in file decompression or general web browsing. Strange. All of this leads me to my biggest complaint. This thing has an issue where it apparently won't thermal throttle properly and will just run like Usain Bolt until it decides on it's terms to punch the time clock, lock up, and power cycle. Mid document? That sucks, rebooting. Important call for work with your boss? Too bad, so sad bro it's quitting time. This also occurs occasionally while waking from sleep. Incredibly annoying. This has not been a 1 off thing. Over a 32 day period of ownership I have experienced this 3 to 4 times per day averaging about 3-4 hours of use. Also, a major selling point of this laptop is the 275HX (emphasis on the HX) series CPU in here. HX series CPUs have power control officially supported by Intel through their XTU application.. unless you are Acer and decide to lock it out at a firmware level, completely negating a selling point of using this specific processor in the first place. It's a marketing tactic, and I get it; but it's scummy. To round all of this out, Acer's official website for drivers and bios updates for their products is absolute dog water. Trying to find the official support page for this device brought me to a forum search utility to "see what others are saying." Acer, I don't want to see what other people are saying about your device; I want to find bios updates so I can manage my device with the utility you are supposed to provide. The predator sense app for updates is good if you are content with "no updates available." Nice, but maybe I want to rollback a driver to troubleshoot something. I'm still giving it three stars because this computer has SO much potential, but the cut corners and sheer pants on head decision making process on thermal throttling not working appropriately or locking out XTU support ruined this device for me. Unfortunately, these issues are not isolated to this being a lemon. I have come across a few reviews on Best Buy as well as other forums with users complaining of the same issue. Acer you were so close, hopefully your next version will iron out these issues. Until then, I will unforunately be returning this device. PS, the name of this device is overly complicated. Reminds me of "my fathers, brothers, nephews, uncles, cousins former roommate" from Spaceballs. Less is more.

The Good: The OLED screen is amazing. Decenly fast GPU. I ran ARC Raiders at around 170fps using DLSS 2x. It was still really responsive. The laptop is also really thin. The Bad: The OLED is locked at 240hz, so bad battery life. The GPU's wattage is also lesser than Lenovo, for instance. The thin design also comes with heat problems. The fans are pretty loud. You'll also likely see thermal throttling. I returned the laptop due to microstuttering, likely from thermal issues.

Amazing Machine with almost Zero compromises!!

So after a couple of months of going back & forth between buying & returning gaming laptops, some for actual software or hardware issues and a couple of them just because I didn't end up liking for often several reasons, i have finally landed here!! I could probably write pages on the likes and dislikes amoungst the other laptops I've tried in comparison to this one but it would take entirely too long. I'll just say finally a gaming laptop that has everything i was looking for plus some. Features a OLED beautiful & bright display, It says 165hz display in the description but when i went into the display settings, it actually shows running at 240hz for the refresh rate... Which is a bonus!!... It goes over 300 nits for the display brightness, has 32gb Ram, 1 tb storage, RTX 5070ti, with an Ultra 9 series 2 processor or the 275HX variant. Plus has a premium feel build quality, full keyboard & a slim sleek design!. Also I cant forget to mention the great port selection it has in comparison to the others ive tried......I've paid more for other "comparable" gaming laptops... Alienware, MSI,Asus, older predators....just to name a couple lol...but they always came with some kind of compromise whether it be the screen quality/resolution or a lower processor or a lower overall nit brightness or only 16gb of ram or a lesser gpu or poorer port selection or combos of. I suppose there really is no "perfect" gaming laptop but this one just packs it all! Definitely recommend over the new Asus Rog Strix G16 with the FHD display which also happens to be more expensive (at the time of this review) if display immersion is your thing. Along with a recommendation over the MSI Stealth A16 AI (Amazing build & display, but had to return for what came to be a known glitching screen issue for that model). The Asus was the last laptop i had before exchanging it for this one and im glad i decided to exchange it.... Acer is killing the game with this one and for the price point in comparison to some of the others (at the time of this review), it is an all around, more complete & excellent package without all the compromises!

The Acer Predator Helios Neo 16S AI is a powerful and impressive gaming laptop. Performance is excellent thanks to the latest Intel Core Ultra processor and RTX graphics — it handles modern AAA games smoothly and takes great advantage of AI features like DLSS. The 16” display looks amazing with vibrant colors and a high refresh rate, making gameplay very immersive. It does run a bit warm under heavy load, but overall it delivers outstanding performance and build quality for the price. Great choice for gamers and power users.

The Acer Predator Helios Neo 16S AI Gaming Laptop is an absolute powerhouse, and easily one of the best purchases I’ve made for both gaming and productivity. For the price, you’re getting top-tier hardware and cutting-edge features that truly rival much more expensive models. Performance Powered by the Intel Core Ultra 9 and paired with the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5070 Ti, this laptop breezes through demanding AAA games, content creation tasks, and AI-assisted workloads. Whether I'm running Cyberpunk 2077, Call of Duty, or doing 4K video editing, the system stays fast, responsive, and smooth. The 32GB RAM ensures seamless multitasking — you can run multiple heavy applications without a hitch. Display The 16” OLED display at 240Hz is nothing short of stunning. The colors are vibrant, blacks are true black, and the high refresh rate makes everything from gaming to scrolling through content feel buttery smooth. It’s easily one of the best displays I’ve seen on a gaming laptop in this price range. AI Features The integrated AI enhancements really elevate the experience. From intelligent performance tuning to real-time background noise suppression, Acer’s AI integration makes a tangible difference in both gaming and productivity scenarios. Cooling and Build Thermals are handled very well, thanks to Acer's advanced cooling system. Even under load, the laptop remains relatively cool and quiet. The Obsidian Black chassis looks sleek, modern, and feels solidly built — it definitely has a premium feel. Storage & Connectivity With a 1TB SSD, you have plenty of ultra-fast storage for games and files. Load times are nearly instant. You also get a full suite of ports, including Thunderbolt and HDMI, which is perfect for multi-monitor setups or external accessories. Final Verdict: If you're looking for a high-end gaming laptop that delivers premium performance, display quality, and AI enhancements, the Predator Helios Neo 16S is hard to beat — especially at this price point. Acer has nailed the balance of power, aesthetics, and value here. Whether you're a hardcore gamer, creative professional, or power user, this machine is built to impress. Highly recommended!

A solid 5070ti machine for under 1600 that comes with a great oled screen and a near flagship level cpu is a great value regardless of compromises. That said, there are a few things to consider. This is NOT a full powered 5070ti laptop and it maxes out at 115w. It is more similar to the base 5070 but with an extra 4gb of vram. If you want no compromises on power I would suggest looking into a thicker laptop 5070ti like ones offered by Lenovo. Build quality is also a bit subpar compared to the competitors, not bad but you can tell some corners were cut to save cost. That said, if you dont mind those drawbacks, its still an amazing and thin laptop.

I’ve been gaming and working on the Helios Neo 16S AI for a few weeks, and I’m thoroughly impressed. The 16” 240 Hz OLED display is spectacular—ultra-sharp visuals alongside smooth motion in every game and video. Paired with the Intel Core Ultra 9 275HX and RTX 5070 Ti, this laptop tackles AAA titles at high settings effortlessly. DLSS 4 is a perfect match for this hardware, boosting performance without sacrificing quality. What really stands out is the build. At just under 19 mm thin, yet equipped with robust cooling (liquid metal + fifth‑gen AeroBlade 3D fans), it stays impressively cool even during intense gaming sessions. Ports are smartly positioned—Thunderbolt 4, HDMI 2.1, Ethernet, microSD, and USB-A/C are abundant, so no need for dongles. () Battery life? Great for light use—up to 6½ hours of video playback—but naturally, gaming drains it fast. Fans get audible under load, but it’s a trade-off for the raw power packed inside. () If you’re hunting for a desktop-replacement gaming laptop that blends performance, visuals, and thoughtful design, this is it. It’s bold, gamer-focused, and delivers exactly what the specs promise. • Display & Visuals: 16” WQXGA OLED, 240 Hz, 1 ms response—tilts modern gaming visuals into cinematic territory. • Performance: Core Ultra 9 275HX + RTX 5070 Ti = buttery smooth gameplay with DLSS 4 enabled. • Thermals & Build: Axiom-level cooling, solid aluminum-chassis feel, and sturdy construction. • Connectivity: One of the best-equipped mid‑size laptops with full Thunderbolt, HDMI, Ethernet, USB-A/C, and card reader. • Drawbacks: Heavier than ultralights (~2.3 kg/5 lb), fans audible under load, battery life limited during gaming. An excellent balance of powerful hardware, stunning OLED visuals, and premium build, making it a top-tier gaming pick. Ideal for gamers, creators, and power users who value performance-first laptops—even at the cost of some weight and battery runtime.

I picked mine up during a sale for $1,499; an absolute steal considering the amount of power this laptop has. Playing titles like Cyberpunk 2077, Hogwarts, and others at full detail is fantastic on this machine. I was getting 70fps in Cyberpunk without any frame gen or trickery, but when I enabled it, I was getting near 180fps. I put this little machine side by side with my desktop (14900KF, RTX 4080 Supreme X, 32gig Corsair dominator). This little machine can actually keep up, and in some cases run parallel with my desktop; blown away. The connectivity on this machine is fantastic: it's got HDMI 2.1 and Thunderbolt 4 (yep, that's right), and it can push 80 Gbps throughput. My desktop motherboard doesn't even have Thunderbolt, and at the time, it was an enthusiast/premium platform. Not to mention 2.5 GB Ethernet, which is precisely what I have on my desktop, despite my fiber internet. The OLED screen is also high quality, with no taring during heavy usage. Leave Sync off; it hasn't been useful in years. The colors are deep and rich (compared to my desktop 34" G7 T1 Faker 240hz, with 95% Color gamut, and HDR. This laptop's monitor is actually 'better', in this case, size doesn't matter. I've come to prefer working on my laptop over my desktop because of these extra features and its overall feel. As a package, these parts and the software have been perfectly mated. This is a fantastic design and implementation of premium parts. Cons: There are a few minor details I found somewhat frustrating as a super-user; most people won't even notice these items because it's beyond their knowledge and expertise. 1) The UEFI BIOS is really lacking in customization. When I turned off a couple of things to try to streamline further, the BIOS hung up quite a bit and slowed down drastically. This did not affect the performance once in Windows; I hope ACER keeps working on the BIOS because it needs some TLC. Please allow me to turn off TPM, it's a security risk due to the extra space on there. 2) Cracking this machine open is NOT easy. Be very VERY careful if you try to upgrade the SSD or RAM. You'll need Torx bits to open it; you'll also want a plastic guitar pick to pry it open. Be very gentle; otherwise, you could break something or clip a capacitor on the edge of the motherboard. 3) If you decide to upgrade your SSD make sure that you have the drivers (ACER website) to detect the new one correctly. Otherwise, it won't appear in your fresh Win11 install when trying to select a drive, etc. 4) Win11 Home is attached to this machine via the TPM module; it is automatically recognized when you're installing a fresh copy of Windows 11. This can be a pain in the neck if you're a superuser like me with extra copies of Win11 Pro lying around. Search the web, and you'll find a quick hack to install other OS versions without disabling the TPM. My use-case scenario: school, work, pen testing, and cybersecurity. This little beast is currently dual-booting into Kali Linux via the Thunderbolt 4 port (for quick disconnects). It's currently being used to packet-sniff on my home network, intercepting all traffic to my desktop and my Pi5 vault servers, and to play on the dark web. It's also being used as a workstation for school.

Solid for the sale price, not full price

This laptop is some serious bang for your buck. The screen is amazing, great gpu/cpu combo, pretty slim and lightweight, and good port options. However, the speakers are atrocious and while the fan noise doesn't bother me, they are literally ALWAYS on. Even in quiet mode just surfing the web, the fans are on. You can customize this obviously but if you're running in the standard profiles their on 24/7. But for $1,450, this thing is honestly a beast and I can easily put up with those small cons.

If you need a computer with a good battery go somewhere else. It dies in a couple hours and you can do nothing about it. Otherwise this computer if on sale is a great deal. 5070ti and oled 244hz screen. Fans are fairly average in noise for what I've noticed in gaming laptops but it does get quite hot in the center when working hard so keep an eye on that. Graphics are beautiful and as long as you aren't a top level gamer this is more than powerful enough for your needs. If you are looking for a solid intermediate level gaming laptop at an affordable price this is for you. Not to mention nothing much else needs to be said when the price is $1450. Good luck finding a 5070ti at that price.
