    Best laptop i've owned

This is my favorite laptop by far. It's lightweight a good portable size and runs very fast. Perfect for regular everyday browsing and schoolwork. Plus it can also run android apps. It's no windows computer so don't expect it to do everything a windows laptop could but if you aren't going to try to do any heavy lifting like video editing or stuff like that I think this is much better. It has a thin profile and is light so it's very easy to take on the go. Plus the 12 hour battery life (which I have put to the test many times in the year that i've owned this so far) is amazing. I love that it's a 2 in 1 so i can prop it up to watch a movie, or completely fold it over and have a 13 inch tablet which is great for reading books and manga. With android apps (i'm running the latest chrome os beta, but there might already be android on the regular builds) using this as a tablet is very enjoyable, and my kid loves playing his touch games on a larger screen. Overall I couldn't be happier with this purchase. I've used it for a little over a year and it still runs like brand new. This is probably because chrome os is a very lightweight operating system unlike windows where my windows laptop is noticeably slower after a year of use. Pick one up, you won't regret it.

Ordered this at the beginning of this week and received a day early. Love this Chromebook. After reading a ton of reviews I did have a concern relating to the hinge.....no worries. This is a beautiful solidly built laptop and I have no issues with the hinge. The Chromebook itself is beautiful, loads pages and videos quickly, and the screen is great and very clear. Of course it boots up very quickly and the battery life on this laptop is phenomenal...at least 12 hours which means I can bring to all day conferences and not worry about bringing the charger. The keyboard is excellent and easy to type on. I have mac laptops, windows pc's, and several chrome books and always seem to come back to my chromebook. The operating system is just more interesting with the least amount of care and of course the new Play Store is great too offering more opportunities for additional apps not available in the web store. I bring to work every day and it really is not that heavy...which I'm glad of because I can't carry heavy items. If you're looking for a great chromebook I highly recommend the Acer R13! You'll love it.....

My first new computer. I brought my brother along because he knows computers and what I may need. I'm totally happy with this computer. Great screen (not so great in the dark because of reflection), fast ,light, and compact. I always have Internet access so it works for me and does everything I need it to. If I need to do things offline I can (but haven't needed to yet).

I'm a google fanboy I guess you could say and have had my eyes on a Chromebook for quite some time but they were never quite up to the spec I was looking for. This one fit the bill, bigger screen with a better processor and memory than the Chromebooks of old. The responsiveness is really good and if you are a limited user looking to replace a lower end laptop with something, the R13 is probably a good bet. I wasn't looking for a full flag replacement of a more powerful laptop but rather something with a larger screen than a tablet and a keyboard. The HDMI output and being fully "castable" to the Chromecast on my TV means I can watch a lot of stuff and beam it to the larger screen if I need/want to. Overall I'm very happy with the build quality, the hinges initially made me hesitate but thus far after about a month of use they seem very robust and sturdy.

I had purchased th 11 inch ACER R11 convertible chrome books for my small business and I find they are good little workhorses but when I found out there was an R-13 I jumped at the opportunity to try it out. I love the larger screen. Still has a very robust build quality and is roughly the same weight as its smaller counterpart. I liked it so much I ended up buying 2. There are fewer and fewer reasons for me to need a windows or Mac machine in my business. As long as it can be done in chrome, it can be done on these little convertibles handily.

I've been waiting on a Chromebook like this. I wanted something bigger than 11 inches but not a 14 inch. Really good size. Easily convert over to a tablet or can out in a tent. Charges really fast due to type c charger. Has a looooooong battery life. 1080 hd. Most Chromebooks are less high end than this that was a huge plus. I really wanted to the new samsung Chromebook, but this was on sale for $338 at my local store so couldn't turn it down. The mouse pad gives when you push down on it. Don't like that. It does ok having multiple tabs open. Plays movies fine. Connected to home Wi-Fi easily and quickly. Occasionally will lose Wi-Fi signal. It it wasn't for mouse pad and Wi-Fi issue, I would rate a 5. I would buy this again for sale price. But if not on sale, i would get the samsung. And it does run android apps. You have to update out of the box and then click on beta Google play store. Most apps work but not all.

This item works well if you truly understand what it was designed for and its limitations. If you are usually never without an internet connection and you live in the Android ecosystem, then you will get by with this. Battery life, screen quality, speeds and responsiveness are all well within acceptable ranges for a system of this type.

I needed a 13 inch lightweight laptop computer to bridge work and home. I purchased a very nice $1200 Samsung Windows 10 laptop but was frustrated with several Microsoft issues. I use Windows 10 and Office 365 a lot, so I know what's what, but these nagging issues and glitches popping up on a premium laptop, even when they were fixable, really bugged me. I have always enjoyed inexpensive Chromebooks so I finally decided to return the laptop and exchange it for a better Chromebook than I would typically buy, the Acer R13. On sale this Acer was less than 1/3 the retail price of the Samsung. It won't do everything I need, but it does almost everything I need, and when it won't I still have my larger Windows 10 systems...But the Acer R13 is the system I enjoy using. I only tolerate the others.

After agonizing this past Christmas figuring out what tablet to get my aunt, I decided on this one and I have not regretted it yet . The Acer R13 13.3 in. touchscreen Chromebook is sleek, light and the display is huge and gorgeous. My aunt loves streaming movies on it. The touch screen is such a great feature and it comes in handy when scrolling through Facebook, my emails and YouTube. And it's internal, 2.1GHz quad-core MediaTek processor and 4GB of memory makes it a beast. At first , I found it to be a bit slow starting up some of the apps but it looks like it needed to be warmed up a bit. Now, after a few weeks of breaking it in, it is lightning fast. It's a bit more expensive compared to the other chromebooks that are out there but this one is worth splurging on.

    Future Proof, Not Perfect

This chromebook had all the future-proof things I was looking for: -USB-C charging -Touch Screen -Android app compatible It also has great battery life, 10-12 hours depending on use. The hinges work well. The screen will wobble if you are poking the touch screen in laptop mode, but any laptop will do that. In normal use, the hinges are great. The one issue I had (and I knew it when I purchased it) is that it has a micro SD card slot instead of a regular SD card slot. This would be great for amateur photography, but now I need to buy a micro SD card and an adapter in order to get photos from my camera to the chromebook. I would have given 5 stars if it had a regular SD slot.

The laptop works great, all the benefits of Chrome OS are there, super easy to use, fast to set up, smart with your preferences and turns on in literally 5 seconds. The hardware has a nice, solid feeling (but I've not been using much the touchscreen and revertible modes), the screen looks very good but speakers are not great. My first model had some dead pixels: I brought it back to bestbuy and they were super kind swapping it for a new one. Keyboard is good but not amazing. I like the trackpad that has some very good gestures.

Play Store Apps in a Laptop Configuration!

Chromebooks without Play Store apps just aren't a good fit for me, and it came to the point where I really needed an update from my Note 10.1 2014, so I tired this Chromebook out since it has Play Store Apps available on the Beta Channel. I have to say I'm pretty impressed. I use it for both work and play, and it seems to keep up with me quite well. I really like the battery life, seems to last forever. One downside (and this won't be unique to this Chromebook only) is that Play Store 3rd party file explorer apps (like SolidExplorer) don't recognize jump drives that are inserted into the USB port. I imagine it has to do with security and app sandboxing, but it sure would be nice to be able to use my file explorer of choice (this also applies to other types of apps, like media player apps and RAW image file processing apps). One hurdle I had to overcome was having purchased apps on different gmail accounts. I'm used to Android phones, where just as long as you have that account on your phone, a purchased app will work no matter which account you happen to be logged into at that time. Chromebooks are a little different in that you can only be logged into or signed into one account at a time. So originally, I had 3 or 4 different accounts that I would switch back and forth from depending on the purchased app I wanted to use. This became burdensome. After messing around with the "Family Sharing" option that Google has implemented, I was able to get all my apps to be used under one account. Kind of a pain, but for the time being, a solution that will work. Overall, I'm pleased with the Acer R13, and hope that Google will continue to improve the Play Store App experience!

Acer has done a very good job of controlling cost and giving great value in this new Chromebook. Solid design, excellent display (and even better when connected to a decent quality 1080p 24 inch monitor.) I have been using it as my primary computer for a month and have zero regrets. Android apps run very well (still in beta mode) including Office 365 but I am relying more on Google docs and they are evolving quickly.. Give this Acer a good look for value, battery, and performance.

I have been a big fan of Chromebooks for a while now. I still have my trusty 3 year old Samsung Chromebook. The Acer R13 is an upgrade because it is a beautiful device, it has a nice display, and is a 2-in device. The keyboard is very comfortable and the build is solid. It does not feel like a sub-500 device by any means. I use a lot of Office 365 online products and have most of the Google Suite running all the time. For a very humble device, this Chromebook really gets the job done. The Android mode is still buggy but my experience with it has been promising so far. I do find it odd that this device ships without a sim card slot and therefore cannot be used over an LTE network like some of the other Chromebooks in the market.

Great for a student. My daughter uses this for classes. The screen is easy to use, and the battery lasts her through a day of classes. Like all Chromebooks, it updates itself. She doesn't really use it in "tent" mode, not in tablet mode, so for her that's not really a dray, but for school work and social media, this is perfect.

I think that the acer Chromebook that I purchased is like an entry level convertible laptop, light noiseless and sleek. In certain aspects it was like an MacBook. nevertheless it could have used some work on acers end, the little pads that are on the bottom of the computer gave very little traction on even the flattest of tables, I think that the strips that the computer uses to create grip while in "display mode" worked better. The keyboard is flimsy and came slightly curved from the box, which lead to the bottom center scratching. The 360 degree hinge that holds the body and the screen together strains under the weight of the device when you hold it. overall I think it was just "ok"

I love my new 2 in 1 Chromebook. It is so fast and portable. Love that it doesn't bog down because everything is stored in the cloud. I had another Chromebook before this one. It was smaller and not a 2 in 1. It was so convenient to turn on my new book and have all my bookmarks, passwords, photos, everything just right there. I think everyone should have one.
