This adapter came highly recommended by a geek squad member. Fixed the streaming issue on the smart tv in the other end of the house.

Don't waste your money on this item. It has bad throughput when it did in fact work. It kept assign it an 169.xx address instead of my 192.xx address. Complete waste of money.

I didn't find that this worked that well. Also, it doesn't tell you that it needs a dedicated plug, not plugged into a surge protector or extension cord.

It only works on the same circuit breaker. I only wanted it to go down the hall and it wouldn't work because of the rooms being set up on different circuit breakers. And guess what? NO WHERE on the Best Buy website does it say that! Total false advertising Best Buy! If the connections I needed were that close I would have just run a cable!

This product is a gamble if it will actually work or not unless you know the wiring between outlets is on the same circuit. I bought and installed this product just to find it did not work. On top of that, the only info in the instructions is to make sure the LK light is solid on. What it doesn't tell you is what to do if it isn't. I contacted Actiontec's live customer support, and described the problem. They had some really helpful advice *cough* "The device only works on the same circuit; contact your electrician". My house was built in 2000. Most of the 110 outlets should be on the same circuit breaker. I informed the customer support genius of this, and their response was simply "no". What is contacting "MY" electrician supposed to do exactly? PRODUCT: might work, might not #check the wiring schematics of your house before you buy. Oh wait! most people aren't electricians and/or won't know how to get the schematics and read them# CUSTOMER SUPPORT: Useless, ridiculous, and unrealistic advice while informing you of critical information that should be labeled on the box or at least in the instructions. OVERALL IMPRESSION: garbage

I purchased this product because my modem and router are in the room directly next to mine. My desktop PC does not have a wireless card so i figured this would do the trick, to get internet. Well after dealing with an hour of the worst customer support...they told me it has to be in the same room on the same circuit breaker. I finally got a connection but my speed was only 2.1 mbps when i usually receive 30+mbps. Seems a bit ridiculous to me. Will be returning this product, and never would i recommend this product to anyone.

The "base" single port unit worked for about 5 minutes. Then unlinked from 4 port unit. When I checked the base unit it was hot to the touch and had that electronic burn smell. Unplugged it, waited about 10 minutes, repeat above. Back to Best Buy to exchange for a more reliable name-brand product...
