Customers are saying

Customers recognize the excellent performance of the 15.6" Gaming Laptop, noting its ability to run demanding games smoothly. However, the sound system and battery life received criticism; some users found the speakers inadequate and the battery performance subpar. The laptop's fan noise was also a point of concern for several customers. Overall, the powerful performance is a significant positive, but potential buyers should be aware of the less-than-stellar audio and battery aspects.

    Versatile laptop

This laptop is pretty versatile. I'm constantly working on the go, and feel like this laptop is a good option if you like to travel like myself too. The battery life is pretty decent and I haven't had any problems with charging it quickly. It's sleek and professional looking, so you can bring it to work without it sticking out like some of the other gamer laptops (for example - Alienware has this distinctive chunky look to it and it's really heavy, so I never felt like I could bring it with me to my classes or meetings). The build for the frame is really solid, but it's still light without weighing me down when I have to carry it in my purse while walking on my commute. The screen is clear even on a bright day so you can bring it pretty much anywhere. I live in sunny SoCal too, but the screen isn't glossy so it won't have that annoying glare if you want to study outside. Other pluses are that it comes with 32GB RAM and a 2070 graphics card for playing games. The specs are also good enough to use for VR gaming which makes it convenient to bring around to different areas of the home or office. The HDMI/ethernet ports and power plug are in the back so it's got a clean look from the front & sides. I'd recommend this to some of my friends, and even my coworkers who are currently looking for a good computer while working from home.

    A very capable gaming laptop...

A very capable gaming laptop that is discreet in its styling so as not to attract too much attention to itself that most gaming laptops normally do with their over-the-top cosmetics. Besides the specs, This is one of the main reasons I chose this laptop over others. The performance is what you would expect given the specs so I'm not going to bore you with those details. Instead I'll briefly go over what might be different compared to other gaming laptops with similar specs. The display is decent and bright enough. Not the best, not the worse but does the job. No complaints. The speakers are something to be desired. Very tinny sounding and on the softer side. Not a problem if you plan on using a headset. I haven't used the webcam but it is 720p. Some competitors are 1080p. Under load, the laptop's fans kick in and can be pretty loud. Again, not a problem if you plan on using a headset. XPG's software allows you to set the fan speed to regular when in performance mode and that'll reduce the noise. I would refrain from doing that as it's better to keep your laptop as cool as possible to extend its longevity. The keyboard is a high point and better than most. The keys have good travel for a laptop and the RGB lighting is per key instead of per zone like others. This was another reason for choosing this laptop over others because I plan to do a lot of typing on it. A big disappointment for me is the Thunderbolt port and the lack of being able to charge the laptop on it. Adata's product brochure mentions that you can do charging through this port but I have been unable to do so. I wanted to charge the laptop through this port instead of using the included laptop charger because that brick is huge and heavy. The wireless connections, both the bluetooth and internet, have locked up on me or disconnected every now and then. A bit of a nuisance but solved by removing and re-adding the bluetooth device and disabling and re-enabling the network adapter. These things are basically what I wanted to focus on in this quick review. Hope it helps your decision making!

Excellent laptop! I've been using it for years and only just retired it. Not because anything is wrong with it, but because I finally have a proper gaming PC. 32GB of RAM and a 1TB SSD made this thing an absolute MONSTER. It's put up with a lot from me and probably needs a new battery nowadays, but it has worked flawlessly for me for several years. I even streamed games on Twitch with just this laptop and it did excellent.

I’ve notice some of the minor problems other reviews have brought up. Holding a key isn’t consistent, The speakers aren’t too loud even at max volume. However, it runs games beautifully. I’ve tested Fallout 4 ultra quality, runs fine. Black ops cold war, 140 FPS in zombies and multiplayer. Minecraft 150 fps. Dolphin emulator, solid max fps. It is an amazing gaming laptop.

The machine is extremely quick. Absolutely no issues after 1,5 years. We picked it based on the processor, memory and the graphic card, expecting great performance, and we were not disappointed. This ADATA was bought for my daughter and I loved it so much that I got a different ADATA for myself, and I love that one, too.

Computer it self fantastic, only bad part was speakers not very good but I usually wear a head set anyway and the size and weight of the charger. the charger weighs as much and the laptop. I would definitely purchase again and suggest to anyone this computer will still be awesome for the next 4-6 years!

I've had it a week, had a few minor issues until windows finally updated. Now it's perfect, super fast, great graphics. Battery life isn't spectacular,I get maybe 2 or 3 hours of gaming but I know GPUs are power hungry. Got it on sale for 1299, definitely worth it for that. Very happy

The only thing I don’t like is the loud fan, and when playing music it sounds low even when the volume is up on it, I don’t know could be a setting I need to mess with because in my game I play the music gets louder. Everything else I love, still getting use to it but loving it so far!

this is a fast and powerful computer. the only concern i had was the default storage drive was C which wasn't the drive that had 1TB of storage so when i was downloading a game, 50gb, it said i was out of space. that made my heart drop but then i figured out the problem. make sure to make the default storage drive D when you first start to download anything.

The only downside this laptop has, is the processor being a 9th Gen Intel. Either way, the laptop is great, you can expand the memory on both sides (RAM and Regular), and you can probably swap out the processor anyways. So overall, a great all around laptop!

Worked great for the 12 months then the hard drive fails. Trying to find process to send it back to the manufacturer is nearly impossible (2 year warranty). In addition, covid has made for an indefinite repair time. Would not buy again.

Good spec for the price as long as it's functional

The specs are okay but just over a month after purchasing, the thunderbolt port went out. After clicking enough links, I finally found how to contact support over at ADATA where the laptop wasn't even available in the dropdown in their own form. I was provided with no troubleshooting steps before asking to send it in for warranty replacement. This left me without a laptop to work on during this time when many are working from home. If the laptop works as it should, you'll probably be happy with it. If not, don't expect much support. Would maybe buy again from someone else selling the same Intel Whitebook option but not recommending from XPG/ADATA.

My order arrived, but broke. This is completely unacceptable considering the price of this device. The chassis of the pc is bent and open, I can almost see the components inside. This is an absolute joke, I am very disappointed with BestBuy, this will probably be my last order ever.

Product arrived with a defective battery. After spending some time charging it and installing all the necessary software I need for work, I noticed that the battery has been showing that it is only charged at 60% the whole time. Took it to the Geek Squad today and was informed after some diagnostic steps that the battery was defective. The tech support member advised that my best option is to return it. Although I have dodged a bullet with this one by returning it, I am disappointed about the time and leg work I have already spent on a laptop that I will not end up keeping.

The keyboard looks amazing - it’s got that cool gaming laptop look and feel (mechanical and I love the feedback). The touchpad is glass so it’s smooth to the finish.
