As a Total Tech member this was FREE to me. The guys who came buy were nice. Things did take a little longer than they planned...they did take some shortcuts, but this service is very worth it.
At one point they didn't solve my situation as promised. Wires were exposed and looked ugly. I have to call the store a couple times, BUT ultimately they came back and fixed everything. Very worth it. My only comment, if you are not 100% happy, let them know.

the people who came to do the work were great. I had issues with the installation which required a second and a third visit. scheduling these were a nightmare. I called and was told it was an hour plus wait time. I went to the store to schedule, explained the situation and asked for the same installers since they knew the issues. In spite of the store workers putting notes in the system, I never was able to get the same people to come out so every time someone came, we had to pretty much start over. I still have an issue but I give up.

Contractors instead of Geek Squad

The geek squad installed and set up a 65" 4k tv and a 4k AVR Receiver and did an excellent job. However this time it wasn't the geek squad it was contractors. We had not received our new receiver and they didn't bring one so the order was cancelled. I set it up myself.
I would specify Best Buy geek squad if possible. I am reviewing the job the Geek Squad did previously.

The techs were here to update our audio system settings after going to Spectrum. They were very meticulous and made sure they maximized the capabilities of the components.

Geek squad installed my projector and audio equipment. They did a great job with the installation and the whole project came out excellent. I did have some issues with the receiver which they replaced free of charge. The one down side is that the techs who came to do the replacement refused to do the reprogramming of the universal remote that was done with with the defective unit. They said they didn't have time to complete the work, even though it only took a few minutes. Overall the experience was amazing.

My DVD player was not working properly and would not show a picture on the TV screen. I recently added a new router and thought that it might have been the problem. After numerous failed attempts to get the DVD to work, I then decided to call the professional Geek Squad. He was there about 10 minutes and told me it was set up ok, but I needed a new DVD Player. I was surprised because it was only 4 years old. I did get a new one and I’m up and running. Thanks to the Greek Squad.

December 14, 2020: Two Best Buy Geek Squad members, Giovanni and Steve, came by at 4:00 pm and installed the new Sony STR-DH590 receiver.
They hooked everything up, replaced the wiring on one of the Bose surrounds, cleaned up any mess, and took the old Pioneer receiver with them to be recycled—because it did not work properly, I did not want it, anyway.
They were here for about an hour, and it only cost $129.99. I would definitely use the Geek Squad again. Great job!
