Taxed the cost for labor? Late installer

Why does one pay state tax for labor to install a product?
This was to be a completed "Morning Install". Geek Squad Installer called about 9:30 and said he was in Granbury at a Friday morning and said he was on his way after another 30 minutes. We had a 1:00 p.m. appointment we canceled when 12:00 noon arrived. No call to say he was going to be later, but was late by hours. Never apologized or said why. Sold us a $50 long optical cable connector when I asked if there was a better way to connect the Q80 sound bar to the Q70 TV than the enclosed blue HDMI cable. Was it really needed for sound only?
He took time and showed me his sales for selling "Extra" supplies and proudly said he was way "ahead" of many of his coworker installers' sales....
He ran the sound system to the MAX volume when testing his work and said "That's the max volume." Why did he have to run it to the max volume. Damage? I only know where the on/off button is on the sound bar's remote. He did program our older Direct TV controller to turn on the TV, TV sat. box, and the new Q80 sound bar, but I was not shown and still do not know how to operate the sound balance and midrange voice options.
Not impressed with installer's HOURS LATENESS to morning appointment, making it a wasted afternoon, nor his social skills or his "Extra Sales" actions.

I bought a new TV from BestBuy but was unable to get sound so I called Geek Squad. It was difficult to find out when the technician might come. Eventually he called to say he was on his way. He fixed the soundbar and it worked fine for a few days, but then it stopped and I am left with a silent TV.

Agent made sure I understood details of the equipment and how to operate after installation . Overall experience was excellent and I am enjoying my purchase.

The agents set up the TV, sound bar and all remotes. It took a little bit to get the sound bar to work. They figured it out and it works.

We had 2 different men out and neither could get the Charter Spectrum remote to control the volume, but the lady that showed up the 3rd time did it in just a few minutes!

I was installing new pieces of audio moving existing pieces of audio equipment and the install was great! better than other stores who have done the same in the past.
