The Geek Squad at the Potomac Yard location did a wonderful job installing my new stereo. It was very clean and looked great! I had an issue with something not working, and they immediately got me in and fixed the problem, with a great recommendation on an adapter to use the existing antenna with my XM radio insted of running a new antenna out onto the roof. Absolutely recommend this team!

Adil and Andrew at the Mooresville Geek Squad auto installation department do a fantastic job. They have installed several devices over the past few years in many of our family cars. Always professional and courteous and take the time to explain the install as well as go over all the features of the newly installed devices.

Purchased the JVC receiver to replace the original receiver on my 2015 VW EOS. After installation I realized the new receiver can't play satellite radio at all, completely lost reception. When I call BestBuy I was told I needed an additional tuner to receive satellite signals. Why neither JVC nor Geek service told me before I bought it or installation? Now I have to spend another $79 to but the tuner and $49 to get it installed.
I also realized I lost the original GPS capability as well. Yeah, the new receiver has wired Apple Play, but the GPS still is needed when there is no cellular signals.
The last, this receiver also fails to get clear signal for regular Am/Fm radio. I could get clear Hi-Fi signals from local radio station from the original receiver. However now I can't listen to more than 2/3 local stations.
Overall, both product and Geek installation service failed my exception.
I don't recommend this product and installation service at all.

GF’s radio went out in her 2015 Wrangler and having music was a must. Looked into Best Buy’s Audio service and it could’ve have been made any easy when it comes to picking out compatible parts and scheduling an appointment. Communication was great and they were so quick I didn’t even have time to walk around the whole store. Professional installation and great service.

Best Buy radio install techs not doing their jobs

I had an awful experience having to take it upon myself to attempt to complete the install. I ended up going to another Best Buy where the gentleman had to stay after his shift to finish my instal. I’m still having issues and have tried reaching out with no response. Cost me tons of gas and an entire day to get resolved. I still think the Bluetooth mic is just junk. After 3-4 hours at the first location he said he couldn’t get it working that I would have to make another appointment. I then spent an hour on the phone with tech support for the module and he told me what to do but I didn’t have the tools. He said he was blown away that I had to call them when all the tech had to do was call them as they have been instructed to do. The second Best Buy tech said I couldn’t work on it in the parking lot or borrow a screw driver that I could goto harbor freight to get tools. I went to harbor freight and bought what I needed for another $40 then took the dash apart only to find 3 live wires off the radio not even taped. So I went back to second Best Buy and said fix this as it’s unsafe to drive. He worked on it for over and hour trying to get it working until I stepped in and said the representative for the module said to call him and he finally did. Within 5 minutes of working with the tech it was all working to already somewhat acceptable performance. Very unhappy and tried reaching out to both store managers but you can’t just call them and I haven’t been able to just go in yet.

I've used BB for all my 8 vehicles audio installation and been very pleased. Speakers and stereos. In this instance the stereo was exactly what I wanted, at a great price, appointment was prompt and service was done fast and correctly. Very happy.

Bought a new stereo receiver and backup camera including free installation on the receiver. I scheduled the appointment online and immediately called to schedule the camera at the same time since the dash would already be torn apart (wishful thinking). I was told I would have to schedule the camera install at a later date. (No reason given, but I assumed it was time related). Prior to the day of the install, I pre-mounted the backup camera and ran the wire to the front of my Jeep hoping the techs would be nice enough to simply hookup the wiring to the new receiver since the dash would already be taken apart. I still expected to pay the camera installation fee which was fine.
On the day of the appointment, I politely asked the tech if they would attach the rear-camera wires to the new receiver. The tech immediately said no and appeared annoyed. I was informed that it was Geek Squad policy that they cannot install or hookup equipment that has been partially installed by the customer. He further stated I would have to uninstall the wiring and schedule an appointment on another day. So rather than take 5 minutes to attach the wire from the newly purchased backup camera from Best Buy to the new receiver (also purchased at Best Buy), they were telling me to remove all the wiring and camera, then schedule an appointment, and return on another day so they could take my dash apart again, remove the newly installed receiver, and attach three wires. I couldn't believe it and I bluntly told him what I thought of the "policy."
The tech was not friendly and lacked any social skills.
The receiver was installed without issue and done nicely. When I returned to retrieve my Jeep, one tech was on a smoke break (nice guy) and the other tech who I initially dealt with was nowhere to be seen. No other customers waiting or vehicles in the bay.
So why would it have been so difficult to simply attach the wires from the new backup camera to the new stereo receiver? It would have been no different if a pre-existing camera had already been connected to the old unit and I was just replacing the stereo receiver.
If that's an actual policy, it's a horrible business practice and a great way to lose a customer. If it was the tech employee simply being difficult and rude, it's time for him to move on.
