Great amp with tons of power!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I can tell you that for being so small this amp outs out a lot of power. I had it hooked up to an Alpine type s in an enclosed box and it sounded beautiful and plenty loud. This amp could also push to Rockford p1's or a single p2 sub depending on how much space you have obviously 2 p1's would be a bit louder but obviously take up more space. I wanted more thump so I ended up buying the Soundstream Turrantula and powered it with a kicker 1200.1 and it shakes the whole truck. If all you want is clear amazing low end bass for your music to have a full soundstage then this is it. If you want a loud rattling mess like I do look elsewhere.

Reliable, Compact, Powerful
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have had the Alpine MRV-500 for over 5 years now, never replaced it. I have typically used it in 4ohms. From one car to another, blowing up a couple subwoofers in the process I am impressed with the quality. I do have an audio control epicenter hooked up to it and it makes bass even more crisp. I've had mostly kicker subs ranging from 300 to 100watts. I've also used Skar Audio 1,200 watt, Infinity 1000 watt, Precision Power 800 watt. They worked very well in a vented box. I would go on a limb and assume it was a 1.75 cu ft but not 100% sure. I have trusted Alpine products for many years and by far I am very impressed.

Beware of "open box" items
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I ordered this amp as an open box item to save a few dollars. Thankfully, the amp worked and was in decent condition. Unfortunately, it showed signs of being mounted in a vehicle and being used, not just opened and returned. This wasn't a huge deal, but the worst thing about it was horrendous packaging. Someone literally put the amp in its factory box inside a much larger box, taped it shut and sent it off. No packing peanuts. No bubble wrap. Nothing. Just the amp in its original packaging bouncing around inside a big cardboard box. Fortunately the original packing inside the original box kept the amp safe. Thanks Alpine! I won't order from Best Buy again after this with fear my items will arrive with damage. The amp itself? Great! Best Buy? Not great.
