    Works But

This did not work for my tv as expected. I had to purchase a digital to analog converter which cost me $28 plus an optical cord which cost me an additional $18. I spend $56 more to make this work. This was the second one I purchased because the first one did not work either. I found the answer on YouTube. I would recommend to a friend because it does work but not as easy as the reviews are making it out to be.. imho

Works with my CD Player and Air Pods

I brought my portable CD player out of storage to listen to music I had not converted into a streamable file. At first I had trouble pairing the Aluratek to my AirPods and had to call tech services. They said to hold down the power bottom while plugging the device to a USB charger. Apparently that action resets the Aluratek and I was able to pair it to the AirPods. Another reviewer at Best Buy said they did the same thing to make things right. Good sound for Bluetooth and I have a range of about 15 feet walking around the house before I lose the connection.

Was easy to pair to my Bluetooth headset. Have it connected to my TV with the power cable attached to a power adapter so it is on all the time. Reconnects automatically without any issue every night I use it to watch TV.

    Latency

There is a big time latency with it. I connected it to the my Samsung TV directly and the sync was out. I connected it to the headphone jack of my receiver and it wasn't out of sync as much but still loose. I even connected it to my iPhone and still some sync issues. Its great for watching sports since you don't see too many close ups of the players talking. I'll be returning it.

This is great product. I use it to send to my Bluetooth headset and there is no lag. Great battery life and very easy to set it up. Now I don’t have to disturb others and I can watch my shows till late night.

    Life Changer

This thing is a life changer for me. My wife loves to watch TV at night, and I have to be up early in the morning (3am). This usually leads to me asking her to please turn the TV down and and getting some grief for doing so, because it usually happens during prime time TV viewing for her. I've attached this Bluetooth transmitter to my stereo receiver via the headphone jack and paired it with a very nice set of over the ear headphones. She can listen to her shows as loud as she wants, and now I can get some uninterrupted sleep.

Have to return product, couldn't make it work

I bought this product to use with a pair of Sony headphones that my disabled brother in law will wear up to 12 hours a day. He currently has a pair of Sony infared wireless headphones whick broke. I thought I would try the bluetooth option, but alass I could't get them to pair to the BT Sony headphones. I was able to pair some BT LG headphones that I use when on my cellphone. The range was barely 10 feet and not the advertised 30 feet. Audio quality is much better on infared unit compared to the BT headphones, so I guess I'll be heading back to Best Buy to pick up the infared Sony ones.

I used this to stream my TV audio to my Bluetooth headphones, which sound great when paired with my smartphone, and the sound quality is awful. I am returning it immediately. It was easy to setup, just sounds horrible.

    Stops Working After First Use

Like another reviewer, I bought one, it worked two days and stopped working altogether. I returned it and bought another. The second one worked one day and then stopped. No charge. No power-up. Nothing. I would not recommend this product to anyone. A huge hassle having to return the item twice.

I already had a similar product (AirFly) and was very happy with that, so I was expecting something similar in the Aluratek BT5. I was pleasantly surprised. Battery life and distance of broadcast seem better, maybe just clearer rather than stronger. Portable, literally plug-n-play, very nice addition for my older electronics and TVs.

    poor sound quality

This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

I got this so I could use my nice hige end blue tooth headphones at night when my wife is sleeping. I connected this thing to my tv and the sound quality was horrible. It made the sound distorted like when speakers are turned up all the way, but I had the headphones down low and the tv volume was set to fixed. I moved it to the cable box and used the RCA imputs to compare. Sound was slightly better, but still relaly bad and distorted. I have the power cable hooked up, so its not a low battery. Thinking this is not a quality product and need to go find one that is aptX certified. The thing worked, but I cannot reccommed it based on the poor sound quality.

This product gets the job done about the only issue I have is the fact that you have to charge it. I guess you could keep it plugged up but I'm not sure if it would get overcharged like cell phone batteries used to do.

    Terrible hiss, weak signal

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

The transmitter is extremely easy to set up, and looked like it was going to be perfect for my needs. But the background hiss is maddening. I tried it in a few devices with a few different Bluetooth headsets and speakers. They all had a very noticeable hiss. When there was no sound output, the hiss moved from left to right channels every two or three seconds. As soon as sound is active, it is just present constantly. I'll be returning this for sure.

    AptX mode not used

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

I have headphones which specifically support the AptX codec and was hopeful this broadcast device (which promotes itself to support the same codec) would offer low latency streaming. Either due to lack of pairing mode choices (manual documentation is very lacking) or an implementation failure, the headphones only connect in standard bluetooth mode. I am going to return this device.
