Basic Dryer

Owned for 1 month when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Wanted a basic machine - no fancy bells and whistle and motherboards to break. It works well, but the moisture sensor doesn't work...it should automatically shut the dryer off when your clothes are dry, but clothes aren't dry. They're not wet, but moist enough to mildew if you forget about them.

Not a good experience…

Dryer would run forever. Called Best Buy and they told me to call Amana. I’m waiting for the appliance repair person to arrive today. I think Best Buy delivered a returned dryer to me.

Bought one at Lowes 3 yrs ago and then just bought this one LAST YEAR from Best Buy. The one i bought at Lowes died within 2 YEARS. Well guess what? The one i bought LAST YEAR JUST DIED! Yep you read that right! 2 dryers in less than 5 years! These dryers take FOREVER to dry and then just stop working. Do not even waste your time. This time i will be purchasing a better brand.

Its under manufacturer warranty and of course they take off during weekend. I guess Best Buy can't help that. It's an Amana so maybe that's the problem. But the geek squad guy was helpful.

I am tired of paying good money for expensive appliances to only have them break down within a couple of years. So far so good with this dryer. If it lasts a few years I will be happy.
