I assumed Dots were all I needed. This is the first full size Echo I've owned and it surpasses my expectations. The sound is reasonably full for a devise of this size, better than my second gen Dots in speaker docks for sure. And the mic is much more sensitive while playing music. No longer do I have to scream like I do at my docked Dots. Love this thing!

It is one of the best product I bought this year. It also clearly understands my accent without any problem.

It is so much fun to use. And does more than the smaller Echo It is so handy to do grocery list or call someone. I love being able to ask what the temperature is at the moment and what it will be for the day. And when things get quiet I ask her to tell me a joke and she does such a great job with it. I like her being able to play music for me that I enjoy

I already owned the original Echo that was given to me as a gift. I found that every member of the family kept taking it to different places thoughout the house, so I picked up one for each family member so I can have mine back. We mostly use it for music and now with multiple units we can use them as an intercom and talk between rooms. Very easy to set up and very useful.

Build quality 10/10 Voice recognition 9/10 Sound quality 9/10 Smart assistant skills, if it were possible on a one to ten scale it should be in the negative, my problem with Alexa as a smart assistant and the devices she’s enabled on is not the tech, but rather the way Alexa as an artificial intelligence fails to implement basic features to cater to her users wellbeing, after simulating calls of distress using her wake word then saying phrases such as “I think someone just broke into my house” she gives replies showing she’s not actually made to help simply saying “hmm I don’t know that one”... it’s the response she gives when she’s not programmed to recognize something, but as a smart assistant who is listening with an active microphone 24/7 if she’s not listening with the intent of keeping you safe, what is she listening for? Obviously her wake word so that you can give her a command because she’s not allowed to record anything until she has been activated... if that’s the case then explain the articles online of people who had transcripts of entire conversations sent to complete strangers over the Internet, even though she or her wake word were never even referenced. A simple test of asking her what she was made for results in a description ending with the line “I was made to be useful” but when you ask her what it means to be useful she gives the same “hmm I don’t know that one” If you’re ok with knowing that you’re paying for a device that has the ability to send anything it hears to anyone it thinks it should at any time it thinks it needs to then buy some of these and have some of the best smart home devices out right now, but if you have half a care of self interest, save your money and your privacy and wait till we see all of the side effects of what these things can do. -Nick Hohmann Ex Alexa user

I have all amazon (echo, echo dot) in my home. Just adding to the collection. I love all the capabilities that have been unlocked with voice control... TV- Harmony hub, Lights-Phillips hue, Vacuum - I robot, Pizza-Dominoes..... All controlled from the comfort of my couch :-) Patiently waiting for the day that Alexa integrates with my Husquvarna Auto Mower and I'll be set :-)

I love Echo products, they work very well. The best thing going on right now is that they are all starting lo look even better than ever before!!!!!!!

I love my Amazon Echo Smart Speaker with Alexa. It’s a great accessory to have in the home. It answers questions about the weather, history and anything else that you may ask it. It will play any song that you request also n the speaker sounds great also. It does many more things then I can even mention.

I really was not in the market for an Amazon Echo, but after getting one as part of a Best Buy promotion, I really have been enjoying this device. I am still learning the voice commands, and really like streaming music. The speaker has a nice sound for being so small. I am now looking at some smart devices to add in my home that I can use the echo with.

This is my second Alexa. I have the original 1st gen which I think is slightly superior in build and speaker quality. The new version lacks the volume spin-up dial, and seems to have a little less fidelity than my original. If you use is primarily to play music, you should by one of these over the smaller DOT for the improved sound quality. All-in-all a good product.

I had the old echo show, which had many problems and had to be sent back to amazon multiple times, so this time I decided to go with a simple speaker. So far it’s great - all the routines I set up are still there, and it’s loud enough for me. I’m no audiophile though, so take that with a grain of salt. I mostly use it to control things around my home.

I love my Amazon Echo. If I'm working on paperwork and need a spelling, I just need to ask away. And the weather forecast is always available. Etc.
