E reader is like a hard plastic on the back i would recommend a case. This kindle is the cheapest one if in not mistaken and I am able to download books and read the only thing that drives me insane is that when i am reading sometimes i will swipe to go to the next page and it will go backwards and then im in a rabbit hole to find where i was at. This may be me bc this is my first time having a e reader and im doing something wrong. If you need a e reader for easy on the eyes use you wont regret it.

I constantly have to adjust the brightness and the kindle app on my phone gives me mixed results sometimes. This kindle is PERFECT. I don't have to continuously adjust the brightness and it's very easy on my eyes. It's really everything I wanted!
