Got it as a gift for my wife and she's absolutely loved i, we've been able to save so much money on buying books and having such a diverse library on the kindle really allowed her to find new books she wouldn't of read.

The lighting is even with no bars or gradient. The color aspect of it is as expected and it’s lightweight. However the home screen is too crowded and junked up. There is also no direct access on the device itself to my local library ebooks available (like Kobo offers). Overall, it’s a great device with a couple of cons. I’ll keep it and use it alongside my Sage.

I understand your concerns about the crowded home screen interface and the lack of direct access to local library ebooks on the device itself, especially since you've experienced the convenience of this feature with Kobo devices.
Regarding the home screen organization, you can customize your Kindle experience by adjusting your view settings—tap the three dots menu on the home screen and select different sorting options (Recent, Title, Author) or switch between Grid and List views to reduce visual clutter. You can also create Collections to organize your books by category, which helps streamline the home screen by grouping related titles together. To hide recommended content and promotional materials, go to Settings > Device Options > Advanced Options and disable "Home Screen View" recommendations if available in your region.
For accessing library ebooks, while the Kindle doesn't offer direct library browsing on the device like Kobo, you can still borrow library books through OverDrive or Libby on your smartphone, tablet, or computer, then send them directly to your Kindle via the "Read with Kindle" option. Once borrowed and delivered, library books appear in your Kindle library just like purchased content. You can also visit your library's website on a browser, borrow books, and have them delivered to your Kindle email address for seamless access.
