I admit, I don't read alot of books, but every so often one pops up. I bought this Kindle because it's portable, thin...and I'll say it: Elegant. I particularly like the way you can hold it in either hand. This comes in handy when riding on the subway, etc.

Came from a last gen paperwhite, and the waterproof and screen clarity is awesome. Bigger screen and the physical buttons, as well as premium feel of the device in hand makes it a winner

Finally the perfect Kindle. It's light-weight, very sharp resolution, waterproof, and comes with a 7-inch screen which is awesome. Completely worth the price if you're a heavy e-reader.

This is my third kindle and certainly my favorite! It’s lightweight, easy to hold. The screen is large and anti-glare. Very easy to read from - almost as good as holding a book!

Thoroughly enjoy this device. Because of its design, it feels like I'm really reading a book rather than a tablet. Pretty pricey, though.

Ths is my third kindle and I don't see lthat much difference. The battery does not last as long as advertised. It freezes up sometimes. The kindle oasis is still enjoyable but not worth the extra money

I loves the size weight and feel. I also like the idea of it being waterproof. Being waterproof I feel is a fantastic feature.

Selected the Oasis for its size and ease of handling. Still learning about its functionality and enjoying it for what it is.

Easy to browse the market with, works well. Easier to read with the bigger screen, too. I really enjoy this kindle

I bought this when the price went down, even though still higher than the paperwhite. What I thought would be easier to hold based on the anchored device in Best Buy, turned out less easy - for me - than the paperwhite. So based on the price, and no demonstrable benefit (yes, it does have a larger screen, so that's a plus) I returned it and bought our second Kindle Paperwhite. This is my opinion, not shared by everybody. Best Buy's EASY return policy makes me a fan of this store

This is my 3rd kindle and it’s tge best. Easy to hold and very light weight. The buttons to turn pages are an added plus

I've been using the new Kindle Oasis for over two months now. In general, I like it. I enjoy the larger screen, but I don't know that the actual print viewed is that much sharper that I would have upgraded to this if my very OLD kindle wasn't, well, old, and needed to be replaced. Two things I don't like: The edges of this light, slim e-reader are actually too sharp, so sharp that it annoys the tips of my fingers after holding it for a while. A more beveled edge (softer curve) would be better. Even after I bought an Amazon cover for the e-reader, the edges of the Oasis still bothered me. The other downside is that there IS glare on the screen if you are outside (even in the shade) or near another reading light. You have to tilt the screen just so to avoid some glare. Most of the time this is not an issue, but I mention it because one of the things I loved about my old Kindle White was the complete lack of screen glare. So, overall, I do like the reader, but if you already have an e-reader that you really like, I don't know if the cost of this upgrade is completely worth it.

This is not the first Kindle I owe. I was looking forward to this newer design with water proofing and one side hand holding. Well, it is OK. It is actually quite uncomfortable for me - it just keeps slipping from my fingers, especially when you try to push those button for the next page. Ugh. I guess I am clumsy. This model does not have blue light elimination yet, so this is a minus. Other functionality good and as advertised. Try to see if this si something you like. I think I am going to my iPad and Kindle app.

Works as i expected - nice big and clear screen - simple to page and light. Happy with the purchase...

Purchased this locally replacing and older model for my elderly mother. The bigger screen and page up/down buttons make it easier for her to use.

This is top of the line. Display is gorgeous and the size is just right. It feels a little heavier than is should be. The ads are annoying.

I had been using the first generation Kindle Paperwhite. It was starting to get pretty slow so I wanted to upgrade. I am really loving the oasis so far. I like how fast and responsive it is. And I am happy about it being able to be used around water. I like the option for using buttons for turning the pages too. So far I am very pleased with my choice.

IMO they have perfected the display. even lighting. no glare. and now it's waterproof??? incredible.

Very thin and comfortable, the two side buttons are so useful when page up and down.
