Ive been on intel since 9900K and have always been a fan of them. Even through the ups and downs of Raptor Lake I stayed committed. I was looking forward to the new Arrow Lake cpus but when the reviews came out I was disappointed, to say the least. This 9800X3D is nothing short of amazing. Sacrifice a small amount of work performance for some of the best gaming performance I've ever seen! If you are like me and find yourself torn then please make the jump to AMD. You will not regret it.

I switched from the 5800x3d to this blazing fast cpu about 3 weeks ago. It performs better than 1st gen of the x3d chip. It was very difficult to get, and when I saw the chance to checkout it took about an hour. I could believe, I waited that long for the checkout process. So if you happen to get it in your cart, just be super patient and do not leave the line. Beats paying more from other places. I also have it oc at 5400, on heavy loads it peaks at 91° C so make sure you have a sufficient cooler for it. I have 8 case fans and one dual cpu air cooler, so your cooling situation may differ depending on your case, build and room temperature. All in all the 9800x3d is the next best cpu for gaming and streaming shows on pc.

The fastest gaming CPU I have seen. Upgrade from the 7800X3d and saw on average about 10% increase over the 7800X3D. Also productivity gains, around 10-18%.

Amazing processor, beyond impressed! I had a 7800x3d so the gains arent as massive coming from a different processor but where this excels in an upgrade is the temps, 1% lows, single core performance and overall productivoty upgrades. I went from 67c gaming to 54c. Hogwarts legacy i would have 1% low dips below 60fps at 3440x1440p with an RTX 4090. This would cause stuttering, especially in the castle. This has aleviated that and dips arent below 80 now. This processor has been exactly what all the reviewers are praising. If you have the cash this should be your next cpu if your a gamer and want the best of the best!

The AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D is a game-changer in the world of high-performance computing. Whether you're a gamer, content creator, or multitasking enthusiast, this processor delivers power, efficiency, and versatility in spades. The standout feature is AMD's 3D V-Cache technology, which takes performance to another level. The massive L3 cache significantly enhances gaming performance, offering smooth, consistent frame rates even in What truly impressed me is its efficiency. The 9800X3D runs cool and quiet, even under heavy loads, thanks to its advanced design and optimizations. This translates to better thermals, lower power consumption, and a longer lifespan for your components. As someone who values seamless performance and future-proofing, this processor hits all the marks. It’s easy to pair with a wide range of AM5 motherboards, and it supports DDR5 memory and PCIe 5.0, ensuring you're set for years to come. Whether you're building a high-end gaming rig or a workstation, the Ryzen 7 9800X3D delivers incredible value. It’s the perfect blend of cutting-edge technology and real-world performance. I couldn’t be happier with this upgrade and highly recommend it to anyone seeking top-tier computing power.

Switch from an i7 13700k to the 9800x3d and x870e platform and it's been painless. Didn't notice a huge difference in most games at 4k. Though, there were noticeable improvements even at native 4k... like in Baldur's Gate 3 with almost 40 consistent FPS higher in the lower city with a 4090. I prefer having the option to drop in the next AM5 x3d CPU as a simple upgrade, since this platform has longer legs than my z790 platform did. Idle temps are about 15 degrees hotter than my 13700k with an NH D15 G2. Gaming temps are similar albeit with lower wattage on the 9800x3d. As a side grade it was more expensive than it was worth since I don't notice a difference in everyday use for the most part. I did the switch because I wanted a platform with more longevity and CPU headroom since I am planning to get a 5090. If you are doing a new build though, I can say the CPU is excellent.

    AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D - A Gamers Dream CPU

As someone who's been building PCs since the early 2000s (remember when we thought 2 GHz was fast?), I've seen my fair share of CPUs come and go. But the AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D? It's like finding the One Ring in Middle-earth, but this time, it's for making games run smoother than Gandalf's wizard beard. Design and Build: The 9800X3D looks like any other modern CPU - if you've seen one, you've seen them all. But don't let its humble appearance fool you; it's like Clark Kent in disguise. Installation was as simple as ever, but remember, BIOS updates are sometimes the real adventure, akin to updating your BIOS in the stone age of floppy disks. Performance: Gaming: Holy frame rates, Batman! This CPU is the Robin to my gaming setup, boosting my gameplay to new heights. "Baldur's Gate 3" now runs so smoothly, I half expect to see a "You Are Winner!" screen. It's like going from dial-up to fiber optics for your in-game experience. Multi-tasking: With 8 cores and 16 threads, it's like having an army of little helpers, each one ready to tackle a task. Streaming while gaming? No sweat. It's multitasking like a pro, even if your pro job is just playing games. Temperature and Efficiency: Unlike some CPUs that turn your PC into a dragon's cave, this one keeps cool under pressure. It's like having your own personal Frostmourne, but instead of souls, it's cooling down your system. Overclocking: I haven't dared to push this baby beyond its limits because, out of the box, it's already like having the Millennium Falcon at your fingertips. But for those adventurous enough, the overclocking potential is there, waiting for you to live long and prosper with your gaming benchmarks. Compatibility and Future Proofing: The AM5 socket is like a promise from AMD that you won't have to rebuild your PC from scratch in the next few years. It's a commitment to the future, much like my commitment to never give up on finding the perfect component match. Cons: Price: It's not cheap, but then again, neither are the good things in life. Like collecting all the Infinity Stones, it's a costly endeavor. Good luck getting your paws on either. Non-Gaming Workloads: If you're not primarily a gamer, this CPU might be like bringing a lightsaber to a knife fight - overkill for some tasks. Conclusion: The AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D is the CPU I didn't know I needed until I had it. For gamers, it's like finding Excalibur in the stone - if Excalibur was made for rendering high frame rates. If you've been piecing together PCs since the days of floppy disks, this is one upgrade that won't make you feel like you're stuck in the Matrix. Rating: 9.5/10

I was running a 4070 super with my i9-9900K and could tell my cpu was bottlenecking my gpu because my 1% lows were always dipping and causing stutters at those high frame rates @1440p resolution. Ever since upgrading to the 9800X3D, everything has been smooth and snappy. In-Game Benchmark: Black Ops 6 1440p Fidelityfx Competitive Graphics Settings; i9-9900K+4070 Super @167 AVG. I've been patiently waiting for the 9800X3D for years after upgrading to my previous 5800X. The performance screams, the feature set like precision boost overdrive and the Ryzen Master software are great, and the 3D v-cache makes this the fastest gaming CPU you can buy right nwo.
