**Another Code: Recollection - Nintendo Switch Review** **Gameplay and Mechanics:** Another Code: Recollection for the Nintendo Switch is a remastered collection of the classic point-and-click adventure games "Another Code: Two Memories" and its sequel "Another Code: R - A Journey into Lost Memories." These games are known for their engaging storytelling, clever puzzles, and atmospheric settings. The Switch version brings these beloved titles to a new generation with updated graphics, improved controls, and additional content. **Graphics and Visuals:** The visual overhaul in Another Code: Recollection is impressive, enhancing the original artwork with high-definition graphics while maintaining the charm and style of the original games. The visual enhancements make exploration and puzzle-solving even more enjoyable, as players can appreciate the intricate details of each scene. **Storyline and Narrative:** The narrative remains the strongest aspect of Another Code: Recollection. The story follows Ashley Mizuki Robbins, a young girl on a quest to uncover the truth about her family's mysterious past. In "Two Memories," Ashley explores a deserted island to find her missing father, solving puzzles and uncovering secrets along the way. In "A Journey into Lost Memories," she continues her search, delving deeper into her family's history. The engaging plot, filled with twists and emotional moments, keeps players invested from start to finish. **Puzzles and Gameplay:** Puzzles are at the core of Another Code: Recollection, offering a mix of logical challenges, environmental interactions, and use of the Nintendo Switch's unique features. The puzzles are well-designed, providing a good balance of difficulty without being overly frustrating. The Switch's touchscreen and motion controls are utilized effectively, adding a tactile element to puzzle-solving that enhances the gameplay experience. **Audio and Soundtrack:** The audio design and soundtrack contribute significantly to the game's atmosphere. The remastered soundtracks retain the hauntingly beautiful melodies of the original games, creating an immersive and emotional experience. Voice acting is minimal but well-executed, with character dialogue and sound effects adding depth to the narrative and gameplay. **Additional Content and Features:** The collection includes new content that enriches the overall experience. Players can access a gallery of artwork, behind-the-scenes content, and developer commentary that provides insight into the creation of the games. The beautifully remastered graphics, engaging storyline, and cleverly designed puzzles make it a standout title in the genre. The added content and features enrich the experience, offering a deeper look into the game's creation and legacy. A great remake of the original Trace Memory. The puzzles are perhaps too simple, but the story is engaging and the it's easy to get invested with the characters.

I pre-ordered a few days before the game was set to release and received my physical copy ten days thereafter. That's great! When I opened the box it had been shipped in, I was surprised to see the game and nothing else. Meaning no bubble wrap, packing popcorn, nada. More shocking is it's undamaged despite shipping out without any protection. Huzzah! Thank you, Best Buy!

Not very far into the game, but so far a nice and cute story. Runs very well on switch. Would recommend more if it is on sale or on eshop for sale. I bought it because I'm a fan of hard copy games and figurd I'd pick up the possible hidden gem. As an added bonus physical copies of games will soon no longer exist.

Love this remake so much. Can’t help but have a big grin on my face while playing it. I just replayed Trace Memory last year before this remake was announced, and it’s so fun seeing the story unfold in a new way with new visuals and puzzles.

My wife and I played Trace Memory together back when it came out on DS. We were always hoping for the sequel but unfortunately it was never released in the US. This game not only includes both the first and second games, it completely remakes them and the results are glorious. The games are as fun and interesting as ever and we've really enjoyed playing through them together once again. The updated graphics, music, and sound are fantastic. And the characters' dialogue is fully voiced now, which is a nice touch. The puzzles, while fairly easy, are nevertheless a lot of fun to work through. And the story remains fascinating all these years later, accentuated by the high quality voice acting. It feels like a lot of effort was put in to present these games to us in the best way possible.

Fantastic Remake and a Passable Port

The first part of this collection is a wonderfully beautiful game that had been trapped on the DS. This remake is faithful while greatly improving for modern hardware. Touching story and interesting puzzles. The second part is the sequel on the Wii which never made it to the states. Unfortunately it had a little less care, as it seems to be less of a remake and more of an upscaled port from the Wii. Textures are a little muddier and the puzzles that focused on the Wii's motion controls feel lacking now, but it's still nice to finally have it here in the US allowing fans to finally experience the rest of the story.

Excellent remaster or Trace Memory and its sequel. For those too young to have owned the DS and Wii, you should definitely pick this up. Suspenseful story for fans of games like Detective Pikachu

Cing was a company known for some oddly unique games, from Hotel Dusk, a game where you held your Nintendo DS like a book as you explored a cheap hotel as a former NYPD looking for clues about a long-lost friend; to Trace Memory, a mystery-thriller about a young girl searching for her long lost father. Remade from the ground up for the Switch along with its previously Japan/Europe only released sequel, the Another Code recollection brings a pair of cult classics to modern hardware. While far from the most graphically impressive games, the unique artstyle and deep narrative are more than enough to draw in anybody who loves a good mystery adventure full of drama and the pursuit of buried truths. Both titles are fairly short, but well worth the price of admission.

Plays more like a visual novel, story is weird. Performance is okay. Some frame skips and low res textures. Fine if you jusr want to experience the story. Puzzles are dumbed down from the ds and wii.

Great game. It's actually two games in one. The first part you play is a remake of a DS game and the second part you play is a remake of a Wii game. Both done very well in this game, they go seemly from one to the other, and the puzzles are redone so even if you played the originals, you'll still get a new experience playing this one.

I never played the original ds and wii games, so I took a chance on this and it has been an awesome game. I beat the first one already and currently on the sequel. I highly recommend not to pass on this series especially if you like great story/mystery genre.

I really enjoyed the story and puzzles in Another Code: Recollection! It had me hooked trying to solve the mystery right alongside Ashley. The only real letdowns were the voice acting, which could be cheesy at times, and slightly clunky controls (probably because it's a remake of an older game). Overall, still super fun and I'd recommend it if you like murder mysteries or visual novel style games.
