Absolutely amazing, used this to make a Turducken for Thanksgiving and it was the moistest chicken I've had in a long time and the duck was perfect too! This did great over a long period of time as well. I've already suggested this to multiple family members!

This was purchased as a gift, but I own one and have gifted others from this Brand and they are well worth the money, Friends with other brands have complained that their heaters have died or had other issues. These work well...period.

Two things come to mind about why I love this product. First, perfect cook every time. Second, very convenient for cooking exquisite meals when life can be a little crazy having small children.

Great for ensuring your meat is safe to eat before cooking. Creates restaurant quality steaks, just pre-heat the pan to high and give all sides a nice sear for crispy on the outside, juicy in the middle.

    Horrible Customer Service

The review is related to best buy not the item. I never write reviews and do not complain about things normally... I returned the item and was issued an electronic gift card that was sent to the wrong email address. This is funny because I received a receipt to the correct email adress stating the gift card was sent. Human error no big deal. However, I spent almost 3 hours on the phone and was bounced all over best buy customer service to get a new card issued. For whatever reason a physical card had to be sent and would not arrive for 7-10 days preventing an immediate purchase. I had planned to buy an ipad for my kid to keep him occupied on an upcoming flight using the credit but because of the delay and dissatisfaction with best buy customer service I went somewhere else and doubt I'll do business with best buy again.

Annova now charges a subscription to use the app with this device and they stopped supporting older models. They have proven they dont care about their cuatomers so look elsewhare and avoid annova like the plague.

In less than 6 months this unit has failed. Needing to get a replacement, but don't feel it is fair that I pay the $33 protection plan since it only lasted for barely 2 weeks and used only once.

I’ve used sous vide cookers before and I did not like how long it took to get to temperature. The Anova Precision 3.0 gets a 12” stock pot to temp very fast. The device is fairly simple and straight forward, and is easy to connect to WiFi but you should be aware if you have a mesh network this might be a pain to connect. I don’t fully understand why it did not like to connect to my mesh network but I ended up needing to restart my router in order to connect the Anova Precision Cooker to Wifi. We used the cooker to cook filets and programmed the target temp and let it do it’s thing. Once done I seared the steak to mark it and it was very tender and juicy, as advertised. The best way I can describe the flavor difference with sous vide is the same way you know if you have had good BBQ; it’s tender and flavorful. The meat is in a vacuum sealed bag (not included with the cooker) along with all of your ingredients which preserved all of the juices, butter, and seasoning the entire time. As you can imagine this provides serious flavor that is difficult to replicate, but is easily done with the Precision Cooker. Some downsides are that you need to use a large stock pot that is at least 12” tall, so make sure you are cooking a solid meal before bringing it out. Also no vacuum seal bags were included with the unit so if you wan to try it out with vacuum sealed bags you will need to buy your own.

    Cooking made easy!

I've wanted a Sous Vide cooker forever and am so excited to finally have one! This gadget is pure magic. With it I have the ability to cook the most consistent perfectly cooked steaks. It really is dumby proof, you just set it and leave it and in a few hours you have the perfect meal. Using this precision cooker is pretty straight forward. You'll need a container for the water and a vacuum sealer to vacuum pack your meat for cooking in the water bath. Once you have that you just place this cooker in the water and set it to the necessary temp or use the app to walk you through the process. Cooking is really pretty simple you just set it and leave it, after a few hours you'll have a perfectly done piece of meat. What's really great about this system is there is zero risk of over cooking your food, it's impossible! The end product is a perfect piece of meat every time. You'll still need to crisp up your meat with a torch or a grill to give you a crsut since the sous vide can't do that. This cooker also comes packed with plenty of tech features such as an app and wifi connectivity, letting you cook from anywhere. Overall there is very little not to like about this cooker. It's small, takes up no space when your not using it and cooks amazing food. The only downside is the need for other specialized equipment to get full use, but the investment is well worth it.

Great for Sous Vide with a Few Ergonomic Setbacks

I have a few years experience cooking Sous Vide, I think I have one of the first ever home versions of a machine from around 2013, and I can say that they have come a long way since then. The size of this machine is impressive, at just under 13" in height, it's a good 5-6" shorter than the unit it replaces. Not to mention it weighs considerably less and is just as effective at heating water, if not more so. I use a very large stock pot for all my sous vide cooking, it retains heat pretty well, but is also large enough to hold a high volume of water. One downside to this new shorter model is that the min line is higher up than previously, so it requires more water to start with. This of course is easily fixed by using a shorter but wider pot. Just something to keep in mind here. From an ergonomic stand point, my only annoyance is that the power plug isn't removable. I'm not sure who thought that was a good idea, but it makes cleaning a bit harder with the plug always making its presence known, and storage is a bit harder too. The sound the pump makes unfortunately isn't that pleasant, mine emits a high pitch hum while on, which is a bit fatiguing for my ears. The previous machine I used was more of a low pitch whirr of a water pump, this new Annova is like an electric motor is running. Obviously it is a motor, but they could have done a better job making the sound more pleasant. Considering the device will be in use for possibly 48-72 hours for slow cooker meals, more care should have been given here. These two issues account for the 3* review, it's a bit frustrating that these were overlooked. When actually using the device to cook with, it couldn't be any easier though. Pick your temp, hit start and wait for the water to heat up. The app is great as well. From the app you can see the current water temp and the target temp. You can also set a desired timer for your cooks too. Want to cook a chicken breast at 145* for 60 minutes? Consider it done, it's that simple. The device is simple to use, and the app pairing makes it easy to monitor your food and keep track of everything. I wish the cord was removable (if it is, I can't figure out how) and the pump sounded nicer. The efficiency and easy of use though make this a worthy purchase in my opinion.
