It’s a fantastic shooter and looter game. It’s not perfect. But it’s fun. Definitely worth playing.

I won’t be the first or last to review this game but here we go anyway. This game was promised to be all sorts of things and it never really lived up to most them. Despite that, it is a really good game with interesting concepts. Compared to Destiny it lacks content but it’s gameplay loop and mechanics are much more interesting. You can actually feel powerful and use your abilities rather than just being stuck shooting all the time. The different classes feel interesting and different. However, there’s a lot of repetition when it comes to the story and exploration which gets tedious, even though the world itself is beautiful. Good for one playthrough but meh after that.

Anthem has had a lot of controversy since it launched, but right now at its current price it offers a great fun unique experience with an excellent combat and flight mechanics that are definitely worth a try. If you enjoyed particularly the combat in Mass Effect Andromeda, this is a great extension of that one but don't expect a story on that same level.

I'm not going to tell you that Anthem is the greatest game of all time. I will, however, say that IT IS FUN. Just the act of traversing the world and flying in a suit like Iron Man is a blast. The story is not up to the level that we have come to expect from the BioWare name, but it grabs you as much, if not more, than most comparable games on the market. The game is certainly grindy (it's an MMO-lite, looter shooter... the grind comes with the territory), but most of that grind is enjoyable, to me anyway. I don't think the game should be ignored outright, I think it deserves a fair shake. Playing with a group is a blast too, with you and your team setting up and detonating combos that fill the screen with particle effects that make the attacks FEEL impactful. After BioWare gets a chance to add to the game, I feel like it has the potential to raise to true greatness. With this as the foundation, they deserve the chance to do so.

Game is fun. Mechanics easy. Long load times. A lil glitchy. Story not as fluid as I would like. But the areas are amazing just to look at. Not bored with it. If the keep improving it it's worth taking a chance w it. Probably wait till it goes on sale...

BioWare has crafted a gorgeous world filled with spectacular gameplay mechanics that feels like it would have made for an amazing Iron Man game. Furthermore, the world is beautifully crafted and has a great deal of verticality that encourages you to explore to find interesting areas. The different javelin suits all suit a different play styles and each has amazing abilities that create spectacular, memorable moments. This is where Anthem truly shines it’s brightest. It fails in multiple other capacities, including a terrible loot system that is not even remotely rewarding since there are very little armor variants and all the weapons more or less look the same. Players looking for the type of loot variety that Destiny provides will be quite disappointed in the anemic loot given in Anthem. Furthermore, the missions quickly become repetitive, fighting against hordes of the same enemies, doing more or less the same objective. The story is also convoluted from the start and it truly makes it hard to care much about what occurs in the world. Furthermore, it is simply a game that is better with friends. Playing alone quickly becomes full.

The game has excellent game play but does contain a few issues. There are long load times between even the simplest of actions. Additionally the story and animation is poor and looks like EA phoned it in. The game play is good though, you have several options for customization. And even with repetitive missions you have numerous ways to accomplish each one. All and all this is an enjoyable game.

Decent game with not much of end game content considering the genre, but worth a play at 20 or below. Flight mechanics and graphics are well done, load times not so much.

Anthem is the game you play between games like Metro: Exodus and Sekiro or Days Gone, and while you wait for Cyberpunk 2077. All future DLC, expansions and updates will be free. The constant flow of content and updates keeps the game fresh. The only form of microtransactions pertains to cosmetics such as javelin armor. These same armor pieces can also be purchased with ingame currency earned through gameplay. Javelins are highly costumizable. Flight mechanics are great. Story isn't bad, but it's no God of War.
If you're looking for that filler game in between games, I reccomend Anthem.

This game has bugs, a lot of them. And it has been up and down with all sorts of issues. But the aesthetic is amazing if you're into well designed exo-suits. The story is bland and halfway to a decent idea, but the gameplay is fun and technical issues aside, the game has a lot of promise. They've already issued several patches fixing a lot of issues and they seem to have many more ready to go so the game could be amazing in a short time period. But right now, be aware it's got it's fair share of issues.

The game is fun in the state that it's in now but I don't know if it will last forever because of all the things that has led up till now with bioware and its issues. I'm hoping it gets the update of all updates that completes this game and make it worth the purchase for the day one people who paid full price for it in Hope's of thinking it was great out the gate. I would reccomend this game for around 10 to 15 dollars but more than that no don't do it.

So this is Bioware's new game, the same studio who brought us Mass Effect and Dragon Age. The story in this game isn't great but the character interactions are pretty interesting. The gameplay is fun but missions get repetitive and need more variety. It's a very pretty game on the PS4 Pro. Also weird design choices and too many loading screens right now. Hopefully they improve these areas over time with the free upates.

This game could be amazing, but the servers are trash, complete and utter trash. They say that they are fixed, but I have only played this game less than a handful of times since it was released and that is because you keep getting kicked from the game. I love the look of this game and how it plays. There are nice ideas and it could be a lot of fun, but give me Destiny at least those servers are more stable!

So this game has had some pretty mixed reviews and even in my opinion it's difficult to tell you about it.
As of this review there's been A LOT of glitches and community issues. The game overall is pretty fun to play. The story is pretty good, but after the story is where the game starts to drop in being worth getting. If you seen the E3 trailers from a few years back there will probably be a chance that you might get disappointed. I was but mostly because it's not as they said the game would be, content wise.
In all honesty if you're interested in getting the game than you should make your own opinion because the game is fun to play but to a certain point.

Despite all the bad reviews by critics and gamers, I really enjoy this game. It gets repetitive sometimes and the story isn’t the strongest, but that is expected from a looter/shooter game such as destiny. The ability to fly through the air like iron man had me sold the minute I started playing. Graphics are top notch.

This game has reviewed terribly. Now that it’s been said, the game is fantastic when it works. The flying, the combat speed and slew of available abilities make this game a true joy to romp through. Yes, the loading can be rough, yes, the bugs and crashes is an issue, yes, end game is left wanting for more content and drops/rates.
However, this is a foundation for something truly great assuming it gets the support it should. If anyone has played the game the 60+ hours they have claimed and then turn around and call the game “terrible”, there is a massive disconnect... the story lasts maybe 10-15 hours, the remainder of the side quests and again, end game is up to the player. This game is absolutely worth a look.
Those wanting a 1000+ hour experience may want to wait however. For what you pay, this game more than delivers.

This game is great. It's made even better if you play with friends. You truly feel like Ironman flying around and shooting bad guys in the face.
It's not without its flaws though. I still get the occasional crash, which has only impacted my progression once. The loot system just received a needed update. And the dev team at Bioware are very committed to making this game a wonderful experience for all players.
The negativity was completely over blown for this game, I saw too many reviewers that only played the 10 hour trail period for EA's Origin premier subscription and say the game was horrible. Raging for all comers to pass it. They didn't give it a fair go. People that are complaining about a lack of content is damning, but then in the same sentence are saying they've played for 60+ hours. If you get 60+ hours from a 60 dollar game, I'd say you got your monies worth, and more content will be released soon and it is all free once you own the game.
Haters gonna hate though.

Even though most reviews were mixed to negative, the price that I got Anthem for made thenpurchase easier. The shooting mechanics, combo system and flying make the experience unique and fresh. The issue is that there's not a lot to do as of August 2019, so keep that in mind.
