Having used multiple UPS units over the years, I found this one to be the best so far. APC understands the need of the home office user. I especially like the Master power off feature. You can plug your PC into the master outlet and when it goes to sleep there are two other outlets that will turn off a few seconds later. Great for energy savings. I plugged my two monitors and external ESATA Hard Drive into the other two outlets so, my whole system shuts down to save energy. You can easily enable or disable this feature and set the power threshold for the master outlet to match your unit. When the PC comes out of sleep mode, everything else turns on again automatically. Instant switching from AC to battery during a power outage too; my system never sees the change. I'm very pleased with the number of battery and surge protection outlets, a good choice for anyone in my opinion.

This is an outstanding uninterrupted power supply. The one I purchased 5 years ago is still going strong without having a battery replacement. This unit was purchased because I felt that the other one was around 2 years past the time when I should have had to get a battery replacement. Best Buy had a sale on this model that brought the price down to just a few dollars more than just a battery replacement, so, I bought it. I love the LCD information display on the front of the unit. I just no longer need to open the software that comes with the unit to get details since important details are already on the front panel. Highly recommended.

I added this to my gaming system I just built. I wanted to make sure it was protected by the sporadic power outages. It works great. Does everything it says it does and is easy to install. It's plug and play so you instantly can see the charge on it when you open your windows computer. Has plenty of charge to allow me to shut down my computer properly and also protect from surges.

This product was easy to set up to two computers, and less than a week later we had a power outage lasting three hours. The unit kicked in flawlessly and the display clearly showed the available power. Shutting down both computers saved significant power and the APC had plenty of battery backup until power was restored.

Anyone who uses a desktop computer should use a battery backup. In this day and age where computers are left on 24/7 it is a must to protect it. The work that may be involved if you have to reload your computer because of a power failure induced corruption is, to say the least, a task many computer technicians cringe at. This APC battery backup is a powerful device that makes sure you don't lose power in the event of a power outage or "brown out". It runs your computer for up to 120 minutes, giving you plenty of time to manually shut it down correctly. It can also be connected to the computer to automatically shut it down safely. There are other brands out there but APC is well known and to me the best there is. Who do you want to trust your data to - APC or the others?

This battery backup is amazing. It not only is plug and play... but the display is very handy. I had to put this to the test during a recent power outage and my home server stayed up for almost 2 hours until the power came back on. I was able to continue to work uninterrupted.

I purchased this APC Battery Backup to protect my 55" Big Screen TV, DVR, DVD Player and Surround Sound Equipment from our Electric Company. Every time we get gusty winds in our area, the power lines knock together and cause our power to go out for about 10 seconds, which is very hard on all electronics in the house. Since purchasing the battery backup, our TV & DVR keep running as if nothing happened. Plugs are spaced out nicely and can even handle transformer plugs without covering the regular plugs & the digital readout of your power consumption is a nice feature.

4-15-2017 ~ I am rating the APC BN1080VA – 650 Watts High. It provides temporary battery power when my Colorado EXCEL utility power is out. Also, it provides protection on my connected equipment, hardware and data during power outages, surges and spikes. The large display gives me the UPS status at a glance with multiple status indicators with load and battery bar graphs. I had replaced a six year old APC750VA – 450 Watts only two weeks prior to an evening of multiple power failures from our Colorado EXCEL power utility (4-11-2017, a car destroyed a power pole and transformer). The new APC BN1080VA held up to the up and down again power bumps and ensuing power outages. My load was 2 - Dell laptops, 1 – HP OfficeJet Pro 6978 printer, 1 – WD external hard drive, 1 – WD My Cloud hard drive, 1 – Xfinity (Comcast) main cable modem, 1 – Xfinity DVR/TV modem, 1 – Insignia 20” TV/Monitor, all on the Master outlets. The UPS handled the surges and allowed me to safely save and power down the PCs, hard drives and TV. The last power outage lasted from 6:30 pm until 2 am. I had muted the alarm beeper which seemed to go off every 30 seconds after realizing this was going to be a long night. The battery lasted 4 hours and 35 minutes with just the Xfinity (Comcast) main cable modem left on the UPS for telephone service. All my equipment was ready and functional the following morning, the APC BN1080VA UPS was fully charged at 100% and registered the "event".

Unit is compact and easily portable, yet provides plenty of PC run time in the event of a power outage, as well as excellent power conditioning, thus preventing PC and/or data damage due to power spikes and/or surges.

I have bought this battery backup multiple times too use with camera systems. I habe never had an issue with them and they are great to use with large power devices!

Purchased this item replace another UPS that got burned out during a recent power outage. Hey, it did its job, so I'm happy. Went with APC this time due to reputation and reviews. I hooked it up, super easy, nice display. I have unplugged it and used the battery back up and it works nicely to power my PC and one monitor. Really just need it to properly shut down the PC and protect it. So far, so good!

With two computers, four monitors, a router, a switch, and a Cisco IP phone... I am getting 23 minutes of run-time. The application that monitors the system says I am only taxing the battery backup at about 1/4 of capacity. I also like the report it is giving me at my current power consumption which is important since I telecommute. Working out of my home and having all my equipment running, I am averaging $0.56 per day in energy usage. The app is customizable where I can input my actual rate so to compute what it costs me per day. I highly recommend this product, especially if you have high-load systems as I do.

I own several of these. Normally I buy the 1500VA version of this unit but they were not in stock. Of all the UPS's I've owned these have never given me any problems when running on my backup generator. It runs bit higher than 60hz. Lesser UPS's just keep cycling on and off which can't be good for the attached equipment. These just run and only engage the battery when one of the refrigerators or portable AC units come on. That's actually why I bought this one because the Sam's Club special $99 UPS would not work with the genset at all. Plugged this one in and I was back online.

I bought this unit because I live out in the country and my power often blinks on and off with frequent brown outs. I use this to protect my entertainment center, including 3D 55 inch LCD TV and blu-ray player. Power transfer is instantanious, as I have continued watching a movie without any interuption, even after my power has went out. It's powerul enough that it can provide a couple of hours power to my entertainment system before running down. You can connect it to a computer to change settings and check status. I highly recommend this unit.

This is a beast of an UPS. It has a battery adequate for the most rigorous home/work workstation (for me, I run a Dell T3500 Precision workstation and Macbook Air off the unit at work). This unit features a fancy LED display that allows you to see the voltage coming in, load, battery life, etc. It also features mute buttons so you can disable alarms when they go off (or if the battery is starting to die). The included software also gives you extra features, like measuring how "green" you are, how sensitive you want the power supply to be, and complete logging. The only reason I didn't give this 5 stars is because, out of the half-dozen or so I've bought in the last 4-5 years, many had to be replaced at the 3 year mark. I realize this is the expected life capacity of the internal batteries, but the way they failed made them COMPLETELY useless. At ~$150, that's kind of a sore point for me.

I have had the product about a month. Works well. It was reasonably priced. It arrived quickly and the set up was very easy. I would recommend this product. I use it primarily for backup for my voice over IP phone service. So I have a phone, cable box, voice over IP controller and my wireless access point / router plugged into it. Not much draw on it so I think it is estimated to run for about 4 hours in a power outage.

Nice battery back up that has good run time for any devices you would want to put on it. A little heavy, but that is expected.

This thing is awesome with the powersaving function where it will turn off whatever you have plugged into the certain plugs is amazing, I never have to manually turn off my two pc monitors now and it holds battery power pretty well as long as you arent trying to run a gaming conputer on it or something, I would reccomend it to others

After purchasing a new 27” iMac I wanted to make sure that my investment was protected. Let me tell you that this back up battery has worked like a charm! Iv had several power outages while on my computer and my computer has never flinched because of it!

THE OLD ONE THE BATTERY STOP CHARGING 4 YEARS AFTER I PURCHASE IT AND THE BATTERY REPLACEMENT COST 60 DOLLARS AND EASY TO CHANGE FROM THE COMPARTMENT AT THE BOTTOM OF THE UNIT. THIS IS A BUY ONCE AND OWN FOR EVER PRODUCT.
