great tablet for drawing on the go

ipad pro + procreate = great combo. the ipad's responsiveness along with procreate's simple and intuitive ui makes it super easy to draw anywhere. the ipad's battery also lasts a long time, and the colors on the screen are sharp and bright. i use my ipad for drawing most of the time, but when i do use it for email/web browsing/twitter/etc i haven't had many problems. the only thing i found annoying was that it keeps defaulting to safari for the web browser instead of chrome but i guess thats more of an ios problem than an issue with the ipad. anyway, i would definitely recommend this to anyone who wants a lightweight, easy to use drawing tablet.

I’ve owned many iPads in the past but this one takes the cake! The design is refreshing, it’s thinner, lighter, and faster compared to previous gen. If you are in the market for a new tablet in this price range then look no further! I only wish apple would make a 128 gb model. I bought the 256 GB just because I didn’t want to take any chances with memory running out. I also bought the Smart Folio case which complements this iPad beautifully.

I’m able to do so much with this iPad. I love that it fits seamlessly into both my work and leisure time. I started a trend in my department with my last iPad Pro, using it with the Apple Pencil to take notes during meetings. Now half of my colleagues do the same. I use it at home for all sorts of things as well, and obviously when I travel, it’s the perfect companion! Battery life is impressive, screen quality is amazing, and the size is perfect. Paired with the new Apple Pencil (which is a wonderful improvement over gen 1) and a great keyboard case, this tablet has replaced my personal laptop.

Purchased this ipad open box, and upgraded from my old iPad Air 2.
The difference was night and day. Super fast, super responsive, great screen, solid build.
If you're looking for a nice ipad this is the one for you, the only complaint is the higher and higher price points. It's better but subjectively.
I'd imagine the lower end models would be pretty good as well but they had the make the high end model so much sleeker in design. Whether that's worth almost 2x the cost is up to the consumer.

An interesting leap from Surface Pro 7 to the iPad

Bought the Surface Pro 7, had it for four days, and had four specific problems with it. Since I recently migrated to the iPhone 11 from the Samsung S10+, I was able to get up to speed pretty quick on the iPad. After one full day with the iPad 11 I'm thinking I should have gone with the 12.9, although there is nothing wrong with the 11. Having that extra real-estate sure would be nice.
To the iPad Pro 11: It is fast and smooth, and the new iPadOS is a planetary jump from the old OS, and the home screen in horizontal is amazing. I'm able to get so much more on the home screen. Then you throw in the Widgets and it's a smash hit. While I'm not a gamer, I went ahead and dropped a top down shooter on there just to test the graphics speed. It is a fluid experience. I think the hardest thing for me is the iPad seems to be designed for left-handed people, especially when in landscape (the power button and volume rocker. The speakers are amazing, and leave the Surface wondering what hit them. The fact that it is USB-C for connectivity, charging, and external storage is the most compelling argument for me. Now if only they would bring the iPhone into the fold I could dump a passel of lightning (stabber) cables.
Six years ago I was on the Apple eco system, largely because it was company paid and supported (no big surprise since our HQ was in Palo Alto, Milpitas, and Cupertino). My largest problems with Apple at the time was my inability to remote control functions within the data centers I built and ran (and horrible AT&T cellular service/at the time). As my IT demands have dropped off, and my highest functions are web design, browsing, a bit of YouTube, the need for a flawless contact manager, getting and sending emails, and making phone calls, the Apple solutions fit me perfectly.
It used to be that Apple priced themselves out of my market, those days are long behind us, since everyone else is now overcharging for tech too. I would like to get the pencil, but the only way I'll get a $130 accessory is if it is given to me or I win one (not holding out hopes for either).
I'm offering a strong buy recommend on either the Pro 11 or the Pro 12.9, and considering that they have dropped so much in price, even if new models are launched, these are now affordable.

The iPad Pro is great. I like the Face ID, the better speakers, faster speed and size of the screen. I don’t like that there is no headphone output. And in the end it is still an iPad. Unless you really need the the next level speed and larger screen, etc., it is my opinion that most people would be just as happy with the regular iPad and save a lot of money.

Save your money and buy 2018 unless you need the c

After much research I went with the 2018 iPad pro instead of getting the 2020 because the differences were minimal and I saved over 150 as well as doubled the storage. With the savings, I put it directly towards apple care and I have a peace of mind in case my kids mess this up.
I love iPads and my children are using my old ones. Right now there are 4 in my house, including the 2018 model. By far, the best screen and speakers out of the other models (10.2 iPad from 2019, iPad pro 9.7, and a iPad mini 2).
The 2018 model is going to be compatible with all the new accessories for the 2020 model, including the floating keyboard that Apple made. This iPad is faster than my computer, has a better screen, sounds better, and literally can do my entire job off of this device. When my computer dies, I may not get a replacement and use this device solely as my computer. I do not have to worry about having to use PC software for my job so the need for a computer is not there. IF you need Photoshop or software that this device does not offer than DO NOT buy this if it is your intention.
The battery life on this is phenomenal, like all other iPads. I use this as a work and a pleasure device. Gaming on this is the best, especially with the 120hz display. I can not go back to playing games on 60hz mobile screens. The speakers are rich and loud, often my wife tells me to lower this. I was able to bring this in my backyard WITHOUT the need for a Bluetooth speaker.

I own several iPads and have to say that the iPad Pro 11 is my favorite. Powerful processor; great graphics; Face ID...this has it all. While I generally stream my video entertainment from the cloud, the capacity of this powerful machine allows me to load it up with hundreds of hours of content while barely making a dent in its storage if I so choose. I love the form factor with the squared off bottom. I have mine in a clear TPU case which shows off the sleek lines of this iPad.

Not sure I would upgrade from the 9.7 pro, but this is a nice upgrade from my 3-4 year old air2. Good battery life, excellent screen. Have not had time to dive deep into it yet, have not purchased cover, keyboard, pen, etc., but much quicker performance. Downside I've noticed is that a number of apps and even videos that were meant for ipad do not fill the whole screen real estate. I imagine many programs do not have 11" specific apps written yet. Covers and stuff hard to find, but that should improve.

This is a buttery smooth, powerful entertainment device, great for multitasking, surfing the web and viewing videos with its updated slim bezel design! It's a great update for someone with a much older iPad. The new iPad Pro now replaces the Lightning port with USB-C, as well as replacing Touch ID with the more advanced Face ID. Overall a well designed product and very lightweight, great for any casual or professional usage.
The new Space Gray color is a nice change as well!

This is the 2nd iPad I have purchased in 7 years. This one is very fast, light weight and back to the original design with the flat edges instead of the round ones the previous generations have had. The camera works great, facial recognition is excellent, and overall I’m very happy I upgraded. If you have never purchased an iPad this is the model to purchase and the time to buy.
Cons: None yet other than the cost but you have to expect to pay top dollar for the best tablet in the market.

It has been a long process before I could upgrade from my iPad air to this and it was worth the wait. The new pro has an amazing screen, fast processor and the sound quality is much better than the lower models due to have four of them. Highly recommend for personal and professional use. Long battery life. The only annoying part is that it is my only device with a USB-C connection. Can't wait for apple to change their phones to USB-C as well

The iPad Pro looks great, the Face ID works perfect, even when it's dark, the screen is brilliant and in summary it's state of the art. Unfortunately the smaller black frame has no benefit, because almost all apps don't fill the larger screen, so there is no benefit to the older versions, which was very disappointing for me. Hope this will change soon. And the price is by far too high and you have to buy a USB-C to USB cable to connect it with your Mac!!!

I bought this to help run a small business and be a better device for my son to access Zoom while virtually learning. It allowed him to have two screens to work, so he wasn’t bouncing back and forth. This is my favorite iPad to date. It’s so quick! It meets all my needs, and I love using the Apple Pencil with it! I also love that I can portray what I’m viewing on the tablet to my TV!

I haven’t had an iPad since 2013, so using the iPad OS has been a real treat. I love the multitasking when it come to referencing books while writing and reading it alongside the bible and such.
I can’t believe how hard it was for my thick skull to wrap my mind around how to multitask. Search for the app while still in an app and hold the icon for a couple seconds then drag it left or right. I love the “open in new window” multitasking as well.
Battery life is easily 5 days of heavy video and reading use. Great colors of the screen even at low brightness levels.
I bought the pencil. Still not even close to replacing my Intuos Wacom tablet from 2011. Sidecar (the ability to use your iPad as a second display) doesn’t hold a lot of use for me to be totally honest. Until you can use it as a touch screen for your computer, I don’t see this being a super useful application of an iPad.
Still not a fan of not having a home button but I’m growing to appreciate the new feel and I love the thin bezel.
I shoot raw files with my Nikon D850 and this iPad actually handles them very well in Affinity Photo. Still no way of batch editing them in Affinity Photo, but it’s only $20. I hated using Adobe Lightroom on the iPad, but I also do 90% of my editing in Camera Raw and final touchups in Photoshop if that gives you an idea of what I do.
Using the Apple Pencil for photo editing was O.K. Nothing to write home about.
I bought a Brydge Pro Keyboard. That was a mistake. The “D” key keeps falling off. Look elsewhere.

It’s an iPad and it’s the pro model. The camera is very clear and the colors are vibrant. The screen colors are so rich it’s making watching anything almost like watching it for the first time. The processor is fast I’ve had so many pages open and it doesn’t slow down. My go pro videos in 4K are very good and don’t chop or lag at all. Battery time is very good videos play for hours. Overall I’m very happy with this purchase.

Love this device. I have had several generations of the Apple iPad, iPad mini, and iPod. I have advanced to the larger screen as I aged, but enjoy the portability and performance of this product. I can stream videos, review email, play music, take/save photos & videos, monitor security cameras on the go, and do google searches.
