As you expected, the iPad Pro 12.9 is AMAZING! The screen size and clarity! The weight! This is our third iPad and by far the best one yet! The camera! The use of Adobe Photoshop ... finally! We love it!

Incredible piece of tech. There’s never a problem with locking up, super fast processor, and links easily to any device. The sound is great, display super clear, so easy to use.

After finding out that an iPad Pro can edit 4K video with the LumaFusion app, a feat the Surface Pro 7 w/ Adobe Premiere struggles with according to reviews, I decided to go all-in for the power instead of choosing an iPad Air as a supplement to my desktop.
This is noticeably heavier than an iPad Air, but it's still very portable. You just might not want to hold it for long periods of time, though I'm not all that strong, so your mileage may vary. It's actually roughly the same size and weight as the Surface Pro 4 it's replacing.
The bezels don't give much to hold on to, so keep that in mind when choosing a case. A case that can hold the Apple Pencil would also be good, because if you attach it to the side where it charges wirelessly, you can't hold on to the iPad from that side.
One of the reasons I switched from a Surface tablet, as great as they are, is that Windows isn't optimal for touch devices. It's good, but Windows programs expect a mouse and keyboard. With iPadOS, nothing requires a pointer to hover over something, and a pointer is never left over a hover menu. It's very intuitive to use with touch.
Speaking of iPadOS, I'm glad they created a slightly different operating system for iPads. It works well on the larger screen. The file manager can access all of my files easily, even those on a flash drive or Dropbox. Apple is doing a good job at making it a suitable desktop replacement.
If you're replacing a desktop, it's important to note that there is only a single port. A USB-C port. No headphone jack, no SD card reader. You will likely want a multi-port hub if you want to plug stuff into it. Make sure whatever you choose also works with the case you choose, if applicable. Right now, I have a Dell wireless keyboard(uses a dongle, which required a USB-C adaptor) hooked up to it and it works amazingly well! The Windows key acts as the command key and the volume controls work as expected. I had bought the Apple folio case originally, which includes a very portable keyboard and no batteries needed, but at $200 I decided it wasn't worth it and returned it. Get a case that provides protection, and many include a keyboard for much less than the Apple folio. As a side note, you can hook a mouse up to an iPad Pro. Your pointer will be a circle instead of arrow, but you can use one.
Overall, iPadOS is a very polished-looking operating system and the iPad Pro itself is powerful enough to replace a desktop in most cases, including video editing. Things I'll still use my desktop for are 3D modeling and spreadsheets. Yes, spreadsheets. Excel is not optimized for tablets enough. I'll give Numbers a chance, but Excel is the standard for spreadsheets. Strangely, on Surface tablets, Excel thinks the stylus is just for drawing on spreadsheets, so even Surface tablets aren't optimal for Excel.
A note on my "Value" rating: yes, it's expensive, but it can edit 4K video while on the road.

It's an overkill for what I planned on using it for but it's nice to have all the features. Everything runs extremely smooth and the battery life per charge is surprisingly long. I've had it for about a month now and only charged it about a four times from 1% to 100%.
I went with the 512GB model because I knew I was never going to need the full 1TB since I don't take pictures or videos. My only complaint is the limit iOS puts on the hardware. This device has the potential to do so much more than what iOS restricts it to.
I recommend this to anyone looking for a really good tablet that will last a long time.

Quality is bar none the best I've seen. Screen vs the standard ipad is noticeably next level. Its a little larger "hefty-er" that I though but still great to carry for daily use. Battery standby life destroys every other android device I've used. Not quite good enough for daily driver (no mouse pad & proprietary work software not made for iOS). But I use it as a 2nd monitor (3rd party software) and walkabout device in the office.
The bad - BB no longer rewards Apple products. I got 2, and would recommend getting your where you can earn the points.

Another excellent iPad that Apple has put out. This model has a much larger screen and a much faster processor. The battery life is better but I’m still waiting for a much longer lasting battery of 24 to 48 hours. Haven’t purchased the pen yet. I’m not sure that I would use it enough to justify the cost. Overall very happy with my new iPad.

The iPad Pro has been a great computer for me over the last month or so! Great battery life, nice screen, excellent design, and a good amount of power to handle anything I need it to! Browsing the internet is great, but so is editing my photos with Lightroom. I bought this to replace my old Macbook Pro and so far, I haven't looked back. This does everything I need it to without having to carry around a 15" Macbook Pro! Plus, it'll only get better once iPadOS finally gets released this fall! Overall, the iPad Pro is a great product!

So I first have to start off with is GET A SCREEN PROTECTOR! If the Best Buy your buying from doesn’t have any in stock. Just tell them, sorry but I can’t buy from you today. The screen is extremely delicate for scratches. Which you would think apple would fix that. Being that they’ve been making tablets and phones for years now. But moving on from the scratch magnet that it is. It’s a great tool.
But make sure you actually need a pro or not. I use the iPad as a second screen for my MacBook Pro with the Apple Pencil. Makes using illustrator and photoshop much better to use. I used to use a Bamboo tablet. This is night and day. Waaaay better. I compared the Wacom Contiq Pro 16 and 24. They just got super expensive fast! $700 to $2500. Plus you still need a computer on top of that! That’s why I picked the iPad Pro. It has more range then just be a monitor for my computer. There is a whole world of apps I haven’t even touched yet other then angry birds and Pokémon go.
But, make sure you actually need a pro. If you just want a tablet for Netflix or the same thing you do on your phone. Just bigger, don’t get the pro. Get the way cheaper iPad. Or wait for the next gen that will be coming out soon. This tablet is over $1,000. Plus the pencil and or keyboard. That’s a big investment. Hope my review helps!
PS: if you want to use it as a drawing tablet, just get a USB to USB C cable. And get the APP Astropad standard. Works great.

I’ve had quote a few iPads over the years and replaced my 10.5” iPad Pro with this 12.9 2018 model. I also purchased the new pencil and Smart Keyboard. Although it was all pretty pricey, I have no regrets as I no longer have to carry a laptop to do most of my work and the larger screen size is fantastic for reading news and other media. I’m looking forward to iOS 13 to further improve the usefulness, but so far this is meeting most of my computing needs and allowing me to travel much, much lighter than I used to.

I was in need of a new iPad because my grandson has completely taken over my now older iPad so I thought I needed something bigger anyways. I had no idea just how amazing this new iPad is! It has so many useful features and the display is seamless it’s like looking straight into clear water the pictures are so very high definition and the battery life is nothing short of magnificent!!!! I’m very pleased with this product!

Amazing piece of technology... I can't get enough. I purchased this and the pencil... and a uag case... and I'm set for life... I also purchased the app NOTABILITY... well worth it. It feels like I'm writing on paper... I love the speed, quality, and size of this. I'm usually a pc, android die hard user... but I saw a friend of mine using one of the other ones with the pencil... and I said... I need one... WELL WORTH THE MONEY!

This model was the perfect leap in tech from my iPad 3 - yep, last one with the big plug, first with Retina display. I tend to buy the latest maxed out of any tech so that it will serve me well for years. Still playing with all its features. And the size is great, this is the smaller body with full size edge to edge screen, so it fits in my purse alongside the MacBook Pro. Battery life is aces.

I bought the iPad Pro mainly for photo editing. It has more than impressed me. It’s very fast and simple. My son loves it for games. I’m really happy we went with the Pro. However it is large and not convenient for travel. If you want portable I would definitely consider the smaller options.

It is expensive but it can replace a powerful computer for many needs. I have started dabbling in video editing and bought a mid range gaming style laptop with new model intel quad core and midrange graphics card. It struggled. This thing flies right thru it. Scrubs 4K with zero lag. It’s expensive but you get what you pay for.

I’ve got a kindle fire, Facebook portal pro and portal tv, multiple laptops (pcs), and smart TVs and gaming systems out the wazoo, however I always end up coming back to my apple products. This iPad is really big, bigger than I expected. If you are looking for something smaller than your laptop to travel this probably isn’t it. But I did attach a folio keyboard and you can attach a mouse with specific hardware and accessibly settings if you want this to function more like a laptop. It has great visual and auditory quality for streaming. The sound isn’t quite as good as the Facebook portal when you are just listening to audio but the portal is terrible if you are talking to someone else through messenger. Apple doesn’t have that issue. Because of the large size this is perfect for streaming. If you are an apple user the compatibility between their devices just makes life so much easier.
