The apple AirPort Extreme router is beast and should be at the top of your list when considering a tier 1 router that can blanket your whole house. Easy to setup and works great.

It will be an honest review. This is a Geek Squad Certified Refurbished item. Usually I should expect a refurbished item in this category to work without much issues. But apparently Geek Squard didn't fix the problem of this unit. The Wireless signal greenlight will gone to blinking after a couple days, which usually means the wireless is not working. But strangely, it is still working even with the light blink yellow. This is a defect and the squad couldn't fix it. Other than that, the unit is working as intended and performance is solid.

Still the best router for a Mac home. Simple to setup and run. I now have 2 connected by Ethernet for a whole house coverage.

I'm surprised to see so many negative reviews regarding this product being Geek Squad certified. This issue doesn't appear to be with the Airport Extreme itself, but rather the process of certification. As others have stated, I also had to reset the router in order to properly set it up. I don't know why this is not done as part of the Geek Squad certification, but once it was complete, setting up the router via the Airport Utility was a breeze. It does provide a significantly greater range than my previous 3rd generation Airport Extreme.

I have two of these and they completely cover my whole house. They are dual band, ac routers. Super easy setup.

This is an upgrade from my smaller airport. It is easy to set up and allows for multiple devices to be used without lagging.

I have always been a devoted apple product user and when my first generation apple Time Capsule started to go on me I started looking into a new option. I have been using this base station for some time now and love it. Since it was a refurbished model the Geek Squad failed to remove the last users settings on it so I had a bit of stumbling effort getting it removed and set up new for me. But once I got passed that it was super easy to set up and connect all of my devices. I even connected an ethernet hub to it to extend its reach out to some of my wired devices. The Wifi signal is very strong but I expected it to have more distance and since it is set up in the rear of my home, when I am near the front of or out in the front yard of my house the signal starts to weaken and fade out. It has yet to drop any of my connect wifi devices, nor have I had to restart it like I used to have to do regularly near the end of my old Time Capsules life. If I had the extra money I probably would have went with the next level up that has a built in hard drive for time machine backups. But I was able to connect a usb external hard drive and use that external hard drive to back up all my apple computers to it via time machine. Which in my opinion is kind of a better option anyway since one of the main reasons I had to get a new wireless base station was because the hard drive was failing in my old Time Capsule. And by using an external hard drive instead of an internal hard drive, it makes replacing it less expensive than replacing the entire wireless base station. This is a great device and essential to our family's digital life as well as to our business needs.

Greater Router, Setup was fast and easy! This increased the internet speeds on my wireless devices by about 20 mb/s. I'm now getting about 57 mb/s on my iPhone and laptops! Only cons are the 3 ethernet ports. I could have used more. Also, have to put in the MAC address when reserving an IP for a device. Otherwise this has been great and very solid!

Great Wifi router. Like that it is dual band and provides great coverage for my 2 story house. Easy to setup.

I bought this (refurbished) because the Cisco router I had did not reach different rooms in my apartment (it's 1800 sq ft). I had very weak to no wifi reception. The Apple Extreme is much stronger and I have reception even in the parking garage (I', third floor). I gave it 4 stars because sometimes, even tough it seems like there is good signal, the internet is very slow or no internet at all.

Easy to use. Setup was a breeze and the speed is better than my centurylink issued router.

Airport Extreme signal gets to all rooms and and streams the video cameras throughout the office. Does not work with OpenVPN, if VPN is an important aspect for your business. For the guest function to work, it needs to be the first device after the cablemodem. Ours was third, so no guest wireless. Really reliable connection!
