Great speaker. First time HomePod user. I wish this had Bluetooth capability.

Great sound, however a real pita setting it up. You need a streaming source to a device with Bluetooth to connect to the speaker. What if I don’t have a computer in the house for Bluetooth? What if I can only use my phone?

It’s Ok for a minimalist or someone in a budget. Not impressed with the sound quality, I didn’t feel the atmos or spatial audio. If you have the chance to stretch your wallet get a good soundbar. In the end is and investment, you don’t buy this stuff every year. Returned both units
After two days.

The Ihome is great the big problem was that all the stores that we when to said they had it but none of the five stores that I drove to had it I had to order it online.

While the sound and features are good. The bigger bang for the buck is the home pod mini. For the price it is not twice as good and for sure it’s not three times as good.

Kinda hard to get multiples all working the way you want. And don’t put it on your nightstand it is very sensitive to your hand going over it and sometimes would wake me up as it started playing music. Or the upstairs tv if it was on.

Looses connection to the internet sorta. When I go to ask Siri to send a message it says my phone isn’t connected to the same network, but it is. The sound is just ok. Not worth 300. But everything apple is over priced.

(I got it to use it as Apple TV speakers) The speaker is not as loud as I was expecting. The software and Apple ecosystem is amazing but I just didnt think it was loud enough for the price point.

So not buy if you plan interact with Siri through the HomePod. Some genius engineer at Apple decided that Siri can only speak at a volume between 30-100, which means if you use the HomePod in any relatively small room (office, bathroom, etc.) that Siri literally screams at you. It took Apple support almost 2 months and 4 support tickets to figure out that Siri just can’t speak at a volume below 30 - it’s hard coded in the software. The Apple support person suggested I sell my HomePod and buy something that had Alex. That tells you everything you need to know about the current state of Apple and Siri. Spend your money son literally anything else.

Sound is alright...sounds better at lower volumes honestly but if you crank it up it the bass bottoms out really easily and sound quality tanks. Honestly not very impressed with the sound for the price. Spend the same-ish amount and get the Sonos Era 300 instead. The only cool "party trick" is being able to hand off sound from the phone to the HomePod by just hovering slightly above it. Other than that, it's really not all that exciting and the spacial sound is mediocre at best.
