    Maybe I expected too much…

I tried to pair 2 of these for a wireless home theater setup, but the sound quality wasn’t quite there. Even at full volume, wasn’t as loud as I expected. I tried all different settings, but just sounded hollow. I went back to my old standby for a home theater setup, and was more of what I was looking for. Homepods just did not have enough bass. They are likely good in a smaller space or simply for music. Although, I still prefer other products for music from a sound quality perspective.

Sound volume seems muted. Bass is okay but seems to lose a lot of high end fidelity. I’m an Apple user but this is disappointing.

Not as loud as I would think. I have the home pod mini and there is not a huge difference on the sound.

I purchased a pair to go along with homepod mini pair. They don’t connect with mini homepod for surround and bass was very bad.

Too much bass. Mids are scooped. I found out the only way to reduce the bass is to turn it off completely in the home app!! That’s stupid. Why doesn’t Apple let us have a basic EQ capability in the music or home app to tailor the sound better? I bought two of these, wish I could return them. Waste of lots of money. My mini HomePods sound just as good.

Sound quality is not as good as last generation, owing to two less speakers. Siri processing information and dictation is worse than ever. Do NOT recommend. Wait for the next gen. These devices use the Apple Watch processors, and the Apple Watch just released can process siri dictation on device. HomePods will get that eventually. Don't buy before that.

On paper this was exactly what I needed. Until I heard it. I know most wireless speaker systems add signal processing to help the audio “fit” their speaker better. This was horrible. Low end was way over powering. Top end was thin and distorted even at low volumes. I’ll put it this way. You will get better sound quality out of a Wonderboom 3. Which I returned it for. I’ve never returned an Apple device in the 20 years I’ve been a customer. Swing and a miss…

It really did not work to my needs. All it does it play music, check weather. If you need it to do more, you need to buy more from apple. It's just too much for the price. Sometimes it would not listen when I would ask it to shut off.

Best Buy has a huge quality control issue with their open box items. The HomePod that was in the box had a different serial # than what is printed on the box. Makes service and returns impossible to get.

Very dissappointed in these. These speakers have no body to them. Just treble with no bass. Tried using two for home audio but they do not deliver. Spend your money on a true sound bar if youre considering using these for the “stereo” setup.

Bought this as a what said “excellent” open box. Suppose to be gone over by the geek squad. Opened it and it was not set to factory setting. It was dirty and definitely not excellent condition. Unfortunately it was a gift for my son so I have to make it work.
