I bought thus for my wife. We had a ipad 3 for 4 years and never had problem but the memory is running low. This new one is lighter and faster. The 128gb space will make it working for another 4 years.

This is my second generation IPad purchase. Much faster than the previous one I purchased almost three years ago. The battery life is also better as I get more usage before the re charge of this unit.

So I'll be honest, I never had any of the previous iPad versions so I cannot compare with any of them. I did have an Android tablet before and the Apple experience was just better for me. I am not a power user. I use my iPad as a mobile (in home) link to the internet. That means a lot of pretty simple video watching, app use, and looking things up along with the obligatory e-mail, photos, etc. I do highly recommend the Air 2, although you may not need 128G unless you want to store a lot or plan to keep it for awhile without wanting to worry about running out of space. There are lots of options for color, storage, cell or not, but ultimately that is all tailoring what is a rock solid device!

I owned the previous generation of the iPad Air. Some games run smother on the new iPad, but apart from that, I do not notice much of a increase in speed. The screen improvements are minor and I do not use the camera enough to notice much of a difference there, either. However, I needed more storage space, so I upgraded. Unless you need the extra space or the fingerprint security feature, you could wait to upgrade or buy the previous version and save some money.

The new air 2 weighs about half as much as my original. Plus I got 4 times the memory that my old one had. They sold it to me over the phone, which w as great because it was the last one in stock.
