First iPad - big learning curve, easy to use

This is my second Apple product and am finding the learning curve, although steep, relatively easy to get beyond. I have purchase a fold-able cover and surface protection to lengthen the life of the equipment. Although, expensive in my perspective, the cost pays for itself in the portability and flexibility of the product. Screen quality is high and very fast processing. Able to pick up wi-fi much further away from the source than my iPhone. I use it primarily for work, documentation and sharing information. Find it can be a bit cumbersome and sometimes frustrating that I need to find apps to be able to do some basic functions and in some cases can not do certain tasks at all. This may change as I learn and become more proficient with the iPad. From a beginners point of view, it is a great addition to your business, communication and networking arsenal.

I was contemplating not getting the 4th generation iPad and jumping for the iPad air. I am so glad I opted to get a nice discount and stick with the 4th generation. I have not had the opportunity to play with the iPad Air but the iPad with retina has already far exceeded my expectation. It is user friendly and the screen is amazing. I constantly find myself reaching for that instead of my Macbook Air because it sites so nicely in my hand. I am so glad I finally took the plunge and will not be looking back!!

    Excellent Tablet

I can't say enough about the 4th gen iPad. I have always been anti-Apple but when I was doing research looking for a tablet everything kept bringing me back to the iPad. The screen resolution was the #1 selling factor to me as none of the other Android tablets I was looking at had anywhere near the resolution of the iPad, and I have not been disappointed with my purchase. Everything has been very easy to set up and I've been able to find a high quality app for everything I've wanted to do so far, as well as some very engaging and fun games. That's not to say that there aren't useful apps on the Android platform (I'm still an Android phone user and won't be switching to an iPhone anytime soon), but the quality and polish of the iPad apps are amazing. Plus the battery life is unreal. I haven't run it down to 0% yet but I've had several charges where I had used it for 8+ hours and was still above 40% battery. This will depend on usage of course. Graphics intensive games do drain the battery faster than watching Netflix or surfing the web. The main detracting factor is the price, as it's nearly twice as expensive as many of the Android tablets on the market, but I was planning this as a long term purchase so I wanted to get the right item the first time since I plan on using it for years to come, and I have no regrets on spending the extra money. Another downside is the speaker. It's not terrible, but it can be hard to hear if there's any background noise in the room at all. Granted, most of the time I'm using headphones with it but there are times where I would like to have the stereo front-facing speakers that the new Galaxy Tabs have, although that would also interfere with the clean look of the iPad as well, so there's a tradeoff. Lastly, I would suggest investing in some kind of soft, rubberized or gel-type case if you plan on doing a lot of gaming on it, because the edges can cut into your hands after just a short time of playing a game that requires you to hold it in both hands and use the tilting features, such as Real Racing 3. The Survivor case works well for this.

The best purchase I've made in a long time. The iPad is very easy to use as I am also an iPhone user. Same interface and functionality. Very clear screen to view movies, videos, photos, etc. My kids all enjoy using it and use it much more than laptops...same goes for me and my wife. I did buy a case for it in the event it takes a fall. Nothing is guaranteed but I made sure to do all I can for our investment.

Great device. Use it for reading and research. Ease of web surfing is nice. I purchased the 32 gig but would have been fine with the 16 gig. I don't have loads of movies and music. All of the documents are automatically stored in the cloud instead of the iPad. Should have done more research!

Excellent product. With the retina display everything looks amazing in HD. Apps are plentiful and battery life is super long. Was thinking about purchasing the mini but after reading the specs and comparing the two I am glad I got this iPad. The price tag for any apple product is always high but I have to say it is definitely worth it .

The Ipad 3 is faster and has better camera than the Ipad2. It feels lighter, but I'm not sure if it actually is lighter.

I love the new iPad, and wouldn't trade it for anything. The retina display is great for movies and TV. The processor is a little zippier than the previous iPad, and it has had no problems since Santa dropped it off. My only nit-pick is that the new lightning cable (which is in every way superior to the old 30-pin cable) means that all my 30-pin accessories won't work without an adapter. Still, it was bound to happen sooner or later, and the latest iPad model is worth a little trouble.

Bought on a long weekend because I wanted something to do on a Monday. Previously had a first hen iPad and this has been wonderful. Camera was new to me and found it to be relatively easy. Things I have enjoyed: screen clarity and processor speed. Most use work but favorite application is FaceTime with a granddaughter in Alaska. She can see us so when we physically see her she knows us. Have to clarify she is 9 months old. Also great to watch downloaded movies on those 7 hour flights.

As a new Apple customer, I bought an Apple MacBook Pro last year to give it a try. Wow, I cannot say enough good things about my MacBook. I have not yet running in any issuesof any kind. Love it! After having so much fun and being so impressed on how it works my MacBook Pro, I decided to get another Apple product such as an iPad. I even love the iPad more due to the retina display feature, comfortable to hold, easy to navigate and so light weighted. Worth every penny spent! ;)

This is my first Apple product I have ever purchased. I am an Android user but noticed there were certain things available in the Apple word that Android did not have. As a result, I bought this IPad to use for leisure and to travel abroad with. It is fairly easy to use and love the clarity of the screen. Need to get something to wipe the fingerprints away and a screen protector to be safe. The settings page takes some getting used to but not so bad. Overall it is a nice product. I wish it had been a little cheaper but know I am paying partly for the Apple name. I bought the black version instead of white as I know they are widely stolen when traveling abroad and to me the white just screams IPad whereas the black is a little more discreet.

As I stated, I was gifted a first generation IPad years ago. It served well and I was happy. When the household needed a pc upgrade we were looking at screens and touch abilities and decided much more cost effective to upgrade my own IPad and purchase a non touch screen for upgraded PC. I am very very happy with the speed, the screen quality, the camera/video quality and the overall ease of operation. Would not trade it for any other tablet out there.

This is an amazing product, and I never realized how useful they were until I actually had the opportunity to use one myself. After that I knew I had to have one. So easy to use anyone can use it. Sooo may capabilities. And is compatible with so many things. The only downfall is that if you're a big multitasker like myself then it can get a bit annoying switching between apps all the time, the way they have it, but hopefully iOS7 fixes a few things

This is a great tablet for personal use. I do not recoomend it for business, I think that there are better option for that. If you will use your Ipad to take picture, chat with friends, use skype or face time, check your email, and take pictures, the Ipad 4 is the one to go for.

I'm a writer, and I love the ease of use of the IPad. I also have a MacBrook Pro, but sometimes I don't want to take it with me. This allows me to write and save my work when I'm not working at home. Screen quality is excellent. I wish the apps were more user friendly. I'm not a techie and so I need instructions. Most of the apps are not intutive enough for me. Still, there is plenty to love about this great tool.

Excellent life span on battery. My granddaughter age 5 knows how to use it better than me and she is on it all the time and the battery lasts through her playing games, listening to music and watching videos. Easy to navigate through the basic stuff. I do however because of my lack of knowledge plan on going down to the store to seek knowledge from The Geek Squad...I'm glad I purchased the Technical Support !

This is my first apple product, and for the most part I am impressed. Very responsive touch, making the keyboard more accessible than android devices I've used. Quality of apps is definitely higher here as well, though you have to be willing to pay for that quality. The retina display makes web surfing and reading a pleasure, as well as YouTube. It seems the weak link in this product is the camera. On a device with such a gorgeous display, why would the camera not be on par? No flash, and pretty grainy images in anything but well lit areas. Get a case of some kind, though, or every time you set it down you'll be thinking of how scuffed the thing will be soon... Nice product, but probably not worth the upgrade from the earlier versions. Oh and the built in speaker is awful. My phone is louder.
