I had an iPhone 4 changed jobs and went back to a BB! Torture!! I love the phone and the improvements are great! I do not see any improvement in battery life (disappointing). I hope they figure out why service drops and will not come back without reboot!

    iPhone 5 Review

A number of high profile news stories emerged soon after the iPhone 5’s release. These ranged from the metallic back and side chipping and revealing the aluminium beneath to issues with battery life and the Apple Maps fiasco. We go into more detail about the maps app further on. The most complained about aspect of the iPhone 5 is battery life. More than 2,500 owners gave the iPhone 5 an average of 6.8/10 for battery life. The Galaxy S3 and S4 score 7.3 and 7.6 out of 10 respectively. The next aspect of the iPhone 5 that most irks owners is its value for money. iPhone owners have known for a long time that Apple demands a premium for its phones. The cost of extra storage on an iPhone makes it particularly costly to go for a 32GB or 64GB model, whereas Galaxy owners are able to add extra storage on the cheap via the microSD card. However, it’s not all bad news for iPhone owners in terms of value. The iPhone 5 retains its value better than any other smartphone. This means you can get back a lot of the original outlay by selling when you upgrade. Even better news is that the 2,500 owners who provided feedback scored the iPhone 5 with 9.2 for ease of use, 9.1 for features and 9.1 for design, clearly showing that it also has a lot going for it.

The iPhone 5 is a fantastic phone for those looking for something that just works. It is very intuitive, easy to use, and has a ton of great features. Some of the best are the iCloud sync, which allows me to sync several things like contacts, calendars, reminders, websites, and documents with all of my devices. I especially like the iCloud tabs sync, which shares all the websites I have open on all devices (provided you are using Safari and have OSX 10.8). Calendar sync is great as well. The new larger screen is great for watching videos like netflix, and the camera is superb. The only downside is that the battery life could be a bit better, but it is still average for the industry I would say. I generally unplug it in the morning and typically have around 30-40% remaining when I go to bed. Overall, great phone worth the money.

What can I say about the iPhone 5 that hasn't been said tenfold already. It's a pretty good LTE smart phone, the battery life is a serious issue, but for someone like me who isn't constantly on my phone it's not a huge issue. The screen is a pretty nice size, not the mammoth sized of the Samsung smart phones. But overall it's a great phone if you're in the market for a LTE cell phone that's simplistic & reliable.

Upgraded from my iPhone 5 much faster processor very noticeable, better camera. I love the finger print scan u know I'm late on that feature but still. The handless Siri feature is great & I basically got this for free since Best Buy was giving $200 guaranteed gift card with any good conditioned iPhone 5 or newer. My phone only cost $200 ended up buying Apple care with that saved money. Great service too

I had to think hard about changing over from the Droid, but really...with a Mac desktop, and an iPad...it was a no brainer. I did have have a bit of a problem in the first day syncing, as I thought the directions were confusing. The calendars sync up without a hitch between all three of my devices (a major deal for my business and a big problem with my previous phone). Hotspot ability was a strong reason for me to buy as well. Everything I like about the iPad is right there on the phone. I didn't think I needed higher memory as I have the iPad for memory sucking apps and programs. Siri is pretty amazing and fairly reliable. I like how easy the voicemail retrieval is. Can't say I like the keyboard for texting after having the droid "swype", which is much faster. But I do like having the same texting ability on all three of my devices. Having the iPhone for over a month now, I can say I am very happy with my choice.

So glad I upgraded from iPhone 4S. I was skeptical that there was enough upgrades to justify renewing my contract with VZW, but glad I did. LTE is amazing! I'm one of the rare owners that doesn't keep it in a case, and I'm in love with how light and sexy it feels/looks! Quite faster processor and camera is noticeably faster. I wasn't sure the slightly bigger screen was going to be noticeable, but it really is. I've had android devices in the past but there is just no comparison to Apple hardware/software! If you are on the fence, I'd definitely recommend taking the plunge. Also was my first phone I bought at Best Buy and I'll never go to the VZW store again. Just an easier and faster transaction!

I debated between the iPhone 5 and the latest Samsung galaxy and went with iPhone since I already had an I phone 4 and have an extensive iTunes collection, I like the convience of being able to add single songs to the collection by pressing a button and not having to hook it up through the computer every time. The phone seems much faster on the Internet than previous versions and has Suri which is kind of a cool feature, it does all of things you would expect from a smartphone, also the camera is much improved. My gripes are no room for expanded memory like the Samsung and the fact that flash sites do not work but I knew this going in, also apple now has a new lighting pin connection that you must get an adaptor for to work with the old docks and chargers.

    Huge step up from 3GS

Got an Iphone 5 to replace an Iphone 3GS. The battery lasts much longer. Internet speed is faster and easier to read on larger screen. I like the white color as it's easier to locate inside a dark purse. Love the bright display. Makes it fun to play game apps on it. Have not put any music on it yet, so can't say how the sound quality of music is, but phone calls are clear. I like how lightweight it is, but it could fall out of hands easily. Did get the two year plan for protection from Best Buy though, so the phone is replaced multiple times if damaged. The camera takes quality pictures...as good as many cameras.

Not much has changed from iPhone 4 to 5, but not much needed to be changed. The biggest upgrade is that it runs on the LTE network which is mind-blowingly fast. Excellent sound quality from the speaker. Thinner and lighter weight. One big plus over competing models is that the screen is large enough without making you feel like you're carrying around a mini tablet. Battery life is much better than the older models. If you'll be docking your phone a lot, look for a case that doesn't cover any of the bottom so you don't have to worry about taking the case off to dock.

It's unbelievable everything you can do with an iPhone especially if you have a Mac and/or an Apple TV (sold separately) and now with 4G LTE and new processing chip it's as fast as any computer I've ever used, the potential use of this "phone" is truly limitless. The picture quality and film capabilities to me seem as good as any camera or video recorder that would be in my price range. I've had an iPhone 4 and a 4s and now a 5 and all have been the greatest devices I've ever owned and get used more than any other electronics I own. I've also never had a problem with them in fact I've never had to restart them due to freezing up or have apps that won't work the only time my phone turns off is for a update restart or the battery died which can happen with heavy usage but takes a long time usually I can get all day on it listening to music, cruising the Internet, texting, and calling and still have more than 30% left when I go to bed. I really have nothing bad to say about it at all, its one of the best purchases you can make.

I upgraded from the 4S to get LTE coverage with VZW. This phone is a great upgrade in many ways. The 4S had a great camera sensor but the 5 actually takes it to the next level with better quality. I like the extended screen size and the thinness of the device, it really is quite amazing. I think it fits into your palm just right and doesn't feel to wide like some of the Samsung phones I have tried out. I would recommend this phone if your an iOS user or want to dive into the Apple ecosystem.

    Loving my iPhone 5

I was very hesitant to get this, my first iPhone. I had previously had smart phones with Android operating systems and enjoyed them a lot. But the time had come for an upgrade and I wasn't impressed with the size and battery-life of my last phone. So, having several friends rave about their iPhones, I thought I'd give it a try. The iPhone is one of the more expensive phones on the market, but I was able to trade in my old phone for quite a large discount at Best Buy which made this purchase even nicer. My previous phone had been quite large after I put a protective case on it, so the iPhone 5 felt rather delicate when I first got it, but I got a case for it and it fits in my hand, pocket or purse just about perfectly now. The thing that amazed me the most about my new iPhone 5, though, was the battery life. On my previous phone, the charge would last about a day if I wasn't using it a lot, with my iPhone 5, even when I use it for long periods of time, the battery charge lasts and lasts. I am still learning all about my new phone and have quite enjoyed learning about the "Siri" function. Even when I can't locate something for myself on the internet, Siri has been able to find the information for me! I look forward to using the iPhone 5 for a long time!

I love this phone! I upgraded from the iPhone 4 that already had the iOS6 on it, so switching to the new phone was super easy. Everything transferred over through iCloud, so I didn't really have to do anything except get used to the new feel of the phone. It is slimmer but taller than the Iphone 4, but in a good way. The outside of the phone is very sharp looking. Battery life is a litte short, but I don't think it is all that different from my previous phone.

Really love my new iPhone. It's faster than then my iPhone4s, noticeably. Better camera, quicker connection- all improvements. I can't comment on how easily it scratches or anything like that because it got a case and screen protector the second I took it out of the box. One thing I've noticed that is a little funny, Apple used violet glass for the camera, so if the light hits it just right when you are taking a picture, it will have a purple hue to it. Nothing major, and I do like the camera, the picture quality is great. I like most of the upgrades, I preferred the headphone outlet on top, but I heard that was to make room for a better/different type of battery, so I can live with it on the bottom. And actually the different type of connection cord (lightening) is not the pain I was expecting it to be! It doesn't matter if you have it upside down or not, plug it in either way and it works. Which is rather handy in the dark. Pretty much everything else stayed the same...(just talking about the phone) IOS 6.0+ did have some nice changes also. I'm very happy with my purchase!

If you've been a previous iPhone user, not much is new here, but it's just the right amount of new. It may not have some of the more "revolutionary" attributes as the competition, but it's arguably the most stable platform to guarantee continued satisfaction over the life of one's 2 year contract (not to mention Apple's stellar software support/customer service backing it up. It's always been a pleasure dealing with them). I'm not necessarily looking for something to turn my TV on/off. I enjoy snappy, clean, well-designed layouts and reliable tech. Having spent 2 years with my now-archaic (and I use that term lightly) iPhone 4 without a problem, I'm confident this will give me the same satisfaction, especially with the revamped iOS on the horizon. This is the phone for people who know what they need, in a neat, attractive package with room for exploration.

I was late to smartphones when I purchased my iPhone 4 over 2 yrs ago, but I loved it. When I saw Best Buy was offering a trade-in and purchase of a 5 for the same price, I had to go for it. It's really not much different in general, but improved in many ways. The processor is clearly much faster. I used to play some basic games (like Subway Surfer) and on the 4 they used to get little delays that would ruin the game sometimes. I've never had a single stutter with the 5 with anything so far. The WiFi utilizes 802.11n which is much faster than the older iPhones, and I'm looking forward to getting a new router because it also supports Dual Band. The 4G LTE is another great benefit if you're in a covered area. Unfortunately, Verizon still has crummy coverage in my neighborhood, so I'll probably need to buy a Network Extender. The camera is also improved.
