This is a simple part to adapt any micro USB cable to use as a Lightning cable. I use it just to avoid having to carry a whole separate cable for my iPhone when I travel, but it also allows me to use a more durable cable than Apple's own relatively flimsy lightning cables, or change the length by using any commodity USB cable (many of which are either dirt cheap or came with other things). So I have, effectively, a 6 inch Lightning cable and a 6 foot one by using this adapter with different USB cords, and I can carry only one cable - either of those - to charge my iPhone, my Android tablet, and my bluetooth headphones. The only downside is the price, which seems like quite a bit for a thumbnail-sized cable adapter.

I have only used this for charging and it works fine. I have various devices that use micro usb so with this adapter I can simply carry one charger and a small adapter. It works just fine.

I liked the convenience of the 3rd party brands attaching the adapter and making it removable but every single one ended up failing on me so I went for the apple brand. I wish it had a teather on it but I used some electrical tape and taped it to the micro USB cable and zero complaints.

It comes in handy when you don't got a lightning cable & you got is micro-USB..only down part is that is small other than is great and charges like a usual lightning cable..approved!

Useful if you want to use the same USB cable for iOS and Android devices. In my case, unfortunately it didn't work with my Meenova mini-SD to mini-USB adapter, so I had to exchange by an iOS cable.

I have had trouble with the regular Apple Lightning cables failing after several months so instead of getting another I decided to buy this adapter instead for all the micro-USB cables I have laying around. You won't be dissatisfied.
