This macbook is the best. It is compact but still offers the versatility of a regular size macbook. It is lightweight which is optimal for travel or taking on campus. This is perfect the college student who doesn't need any additional weight when carrying all those heavy books. Despite what some reviews might say about not having all the extra ports, I think it is more efficient. My only negative comment would be that Apple could have included the multi-adapter for free. But I have to admit Apple makes great products.

It smoother, more fluid, faster and the sound quality is like that of surround sound... seriously! In regards to size and weight, there's no need to state the obvious, yes it's extremely thin and light, but durable and the same consistant Apple quality. No complaints, the response and accuracy is superior... when you say jump- it says how high.

The MacBook is light and easy to use. It is also fast. Keypad feels just right. All in all, it is an excellent laptop and perfect for our needs.

Extremely portable, fast, enough HD space, the only thing its missing is a long battery life and more USB's. I hate the fact that theres only one usb-c and that the battery life isn't as great as listed. However its great for a lightweight laptop for someone always on the go.

This is my first MacBook and it is super light and portable. I bring it to class and don't even feel a weight difference in my bag. I would recommend for anyone who needs something light to carry with them, but if you need power, spend the extra money on the Pro. The USB adapter is another downside.

Really enjoy this Macbook, very fast and easy to use.. the picture is very clear and is almost unbelieveable. The problem is the only port it has is the power port which means you have to have an adapter for everything. Don't know who designed this but it is a really inexcusable. I called Apple and the the guy I talked to also felt it was a lack of foresight in the design. I need to buy the adapters. But guess what? Everyone is sold out because of the high demand. Can you believe it? What is Apple thinking.

Very easy to use, light weight, perfect for traveling, a bit smaller screen, but larger screen could require more weight. Not liking the only usb port and having to buy an adapter for video. the book is working great.

Very light weight, long battery life, and beautiful screen. OS X is solid and still the best OS you can get. It's easy to use (no manual needed). Have updated twice since I purchased it. Both have gone off with no hitch. Thought I'd miss having a built in USB port. Bought the USB/HDMI adapter and all is good.

Perfect computer for travel and easily converts to my home work station; one machine does it all. Flawless Apple functionality and connectivity. Love how all of my Apple devices (iPhone & iPad) connect and share everything. The single connector port not a big deal for me, I simple purchased one Apple multi-adapter and I was able to connect everything I wanted for my home base station (external monitor, keyboard, magic pad & charge cable). It only takes one plug-in to my MacBook, computer closed, and I touch my keyboard and the machine is up and running - fast and convenient. Love this computer!

I've owned Macbook's since 2005 and this one is by far the best! This is replacing a Macbook Pro I got in 2011. I am super impressed with the speed. I do just general things like web surfing, emails, music and pictures and this thing is very fast. The music sound quality is also amazing! To be so thin, I don't see how much clarity and base is possible, but it fills a room! I highly recommend this. Super light, portable, stylish and a great performer.

This MacBook is so small that when I first held it I thought it was a non operational display model. Apple's ability to make computers smaller and smaller while making the screens brighter and more vivid as well as the computers faster and stronger is amazing. You won't regret buying this.

I like portable, plain and simple. I have held out on purchasing a macbook air for almost two years b/c I knew this machine was coming based on all the blogs and rumor sites . Completely worth the wait . I use this computer mainly for real estate, and since 99.9 % of my business is paperless and in the cloud, I really have no need for USB ports . I have an Apple Display, and I just ordered a USBC hub from kick starter for $79 that smokes the apple alternatives .. This hub has display port out, usb C connections, 3 USB 3.0 connections and it charges your iPhone with the built in battery . As far as the performance, I originally wanted to get the 1.3, but this was custom from Apple and I did not want to wait 2 months . Best Buy emailed me and said the $1599 unit in Space Gray was in stock, (1.2 with 512GB) so I took a leap of faith and ordered one . Two days later, I was in heaven . The machine has not shown any signs of slow down, every once in a while if I start an email my super fast fingers are faster than the first couple of characters, but I am so fast at typing that most people will never experience this issue. I'm sure in the future Apple will add a couple more ports, but for me specifically, this unit does everything I need it to do, and I never felt "naked" or stripped of any external ports. Finally, the USB C port accepts charges from USB 3.0 ports . I have a Surface Pro 3 with dock, so instead of purchasing a 2nd power cord for my Macbook, I simply purchased an extra cable and plug it into to my Surface docking station at work ... charging is a little slower than normal but it keeps my laptop nice and full .

The only reason it doesn't get 5 stars is because it needs to come with the dongle. 1 usb-c port is not enough and the price is on the high end for it not to be included. Its is light and the Retina display makes you feel like its not a 12" screen. Fits easily in backpack and feels lighter than most textbooks.

This is a great computer it is small and light and love the keys but I don't like that it doesn't have a USB port .Apple does make and adapter though.

Almost weightless compared to other laptops. Sleek. Skinny and fast. Overall a great laptop.

SO I've had this new Macbook for a few months now and its the best Apple laptop and overall computer I have ever owned! If you need a travel size with good speed and size it is perfect for you then. I did a lot of research before I bought it and then it was sold out for months. After a few months later it was available and in stock again but still hard to get. I think by now its relatively more in stock. I would highly recommend it to any friend or new student.

Great screen, amazing portability, and tremendous battery life. Keyboard takes a little getting used to but overall a great device.

I love my new 12" macbook! It is faster then expected and retina 12" really rocks! Super lightweight and thin! Love this!

I love my apple macbook, its great for school, the only down fall is the missing ports, so if you're just using a computer to Browse the Internet or online school will you don't need the features of extra ports then this is pretty good. It's really stylish
