Super fast and easy to navigate. I have been a Mac user for years and this machine awesome. The 36 GB memory and 500 GB SSD drive have no drag or delays when I have 2 screens and multiple spread sheets open. The 16' screen is nice and the unit lasts forever on battery!

I originally purchased the 14" MacBook Pro. With Best Buy Plus, I was able to enjoy a 60 day window to review and refund this amazing laptop to reconsider my purchase to stepping up to a 16" MacBook Pro with more RAM at 36 Gb. I was able to even take advantage of more savings during the Labor Day sales event for my 16" MacBook Pro M3 Pro with more RAM. I was so happy to have the Best Buy Plus membership and wanted to extend my benefits to go full out with the Best Buy Total. I strongly advice anyone seeking to protect their purchase with Best Buy Total which also protects all other purchases along with these amazing MacBook with Apple Care. This MacBook Pro M3 Pro is so fast and has unbelievable battery life. Just pack with amazing features.

Amazing laptop. 36GB of ram and the M3 Pro chip allow me to run multiple VMs for labs and deployment mockups in GNS3 while still browsing and running Teams calls without breaking a sweat.

For work back in 2017 my job gave me a macbook pro and got to keep it when I left that job. I was willing to die on the Intel based Macbooks as the thing was a beast until it died. Going kicking and screaming to an M based chip - alas I was forced to as I like Mac's for photography & video editing. And man am I glad I did. I got the 16" Pro with M3 Pro, 36GB Ram. I still wished it had a dedicated GPU but this keeps up really well. This thing is a best - it feels hefty, really well built. Gorgeous screen, long battery life, sounds awesome. Clearly there are other laptops that exceed these specs so there's definitely an apple tax at play here - but still - I'm happy with this purchase.

    My 3rd MB Pro

I'd consider myself a power user. This is my 3rd MB Pro. My last one was a 2019 with an Intel Core i9 and 16gb of ram. This machine is light years ahead of that. I'm driving two external monitors - 32" and 27" with ease. There's no more bouncing beach balls, no more noisy cooling fans (the M chips don't need them), and the battery life is excellent.

I recently upgraded to the new M3 Pro MacBook Pro with 36 GB of RAM, and it’s hands-down one of the best tech purchases I’ve made! This machine is incredibly fast and handles everything I throw at it with ease. Running multiple heavy applications is no problem, and it’s so smooth that I forget I have demanding apps running in the background. The M3 chip lives up to the hype, delivering impressive speed and power, especially with the extra 36 GB RAM, which makes multitasking and handling large files seamless. The battery life is excellent—it easily lasts all day, so I don’t have to carry my charger. The display is stunning, with excellent color accuracy and brightness, perfect for any media work. While it’s definitely an investment, the performance and quality make it worth every penny for anyone needing a high-performance laptop for professional or creative projects.

The Apple MacBook Pro 16" Laptop with M3 Pro chip offers impressive performance, memory, and storage ¹. However, upgrades can significantly increase the price ². Despite this, it remains a top choice for creative professionals who require powerful performance and a high-quality display.

    Powerhouse of a Mac

I appreciated Apple making a buy option for a Mac that included 32GB or more by default that wasn't a custom build. The return of the MagSafe power charging port is a return to the better laptop days. The battery life is amazing. The display is really good, but it can't compete with an OLED laptop in terms of quality. The one thing that is inexcusable is the notch for the camera. Windows laptop manufacturers like Dell have made smaller bezels for their laptops that also include the same or better resolution webcam without having to have a stupid notch. It might be acceptable if Apple included the Face ID camera from the iPhones and iPad Pros but it is just a camera and nothing else. Unless you are doing heavy development, video editing, After Effects work, or something like this, buy a MacBook Air instead if you have to have a Mac.

    Great value when on sale

This is the fastest computer I’ve ever used and a good deal if on sale. If not on sale, it is too close to the price of the base M3 max (on purpose) that it’s not a good value. 512gb is too small of storage at full price. The 36 GB of RAM makes a huge difference – – more than I thought was possible. Everything loads up just instantly. I really enjoyed it. Unfortunately, Apple Support steered me wrong with thinking that there was an issue with the unit when it was actually a software problem. I figured out later that it was software not hardware, but already returned it thinking it was defective. Now that I know, I would definitely buy this again if it goes on sale. I would also not rush to return it based on only one try to fix an issue. Lesson learned.

so far I'm loving it! Coming from previously using intel pros, and iMacs. I finally pounced, on a m3 pro. Final cut is running smooth with other windows open during work flow. Wanted more storage than 512gb, but I will make it work. Find my self watching Apple TV and Youtube late at night with it, and just enjoying the display. I love my 5k 27" iMac, but this display rivals it well, and I am choosing to enjoy the m3 pro, over my LG C2 to consume content. Overall very impressed so far. Export time I'm content with. Liked the idea of beefing up with the 36gb of ram. I love my new Pro, and space black makes it all that much more cool, even if its not that black !!

Works great and a much needed update from my 5 year old computer. Switching to Apple Silicon and getting the extra ram feels like a dream. Can’t recommend it enough to people who know they like Mac and need the extra push to do what they need. The new design is also quiet and the fans come out the side rather than the back. Thought it was weird but it works great. Touch ID works even better than my previous and the screen cannot be beat.

MacBook Pro M3 Pro vs. M1: A Leap Forward

This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

Performance The M3 Pro processor is an absolute powerhouse. It boasts significant improvements in both CPU and GPU performance compared to its M1 predecessor. Expect: Blazing-fast multi-core performance: The M3 Pro's additional cores translate into a massive boost for demanding tasks like video editing, 3D modeling, and complex simulations. Combined with 18GB of RAM, multitasking is a breeze, even with intensive applications. Enhanced graphics: The integrated GPU in the M3 Pro delivers substantial gains, making it a more compelling option for graphic designers, video editors, and even casual gamers. Efficiency Apple's silicon excels in both performance and power efficiency. The M3 Pro is built on an even more advanced process than the M1, leading to: Extended battery life: Enjoy longer hours unplugged thanks to the remarkable efficiency of the M3 Pro. Stretch productivity sessions and worry less about finding a power outlet. Memory Matters The base M1 models often felt limited by 16GB of RAM. Apple addresses this with the M3 Pro configurations, offering up to 36GB of unified memory. This has several benefits: Smooth handling of large files: Ideal for creatives working with massive images, videos, or complex datasets. Aggressive multitasking: Seamlessly switch between multiple demanding programs without worrying about slowdowns. Other Notable Considerations Display: The M3 Pro MacBook Pro maintains the superb Liquid Retina XDR display from its predecessors. Pricing: Naturally, the M3 Pro upgrade, especially with 36GB of RAM, commands a premium price. Should You Upgrade? The decision to upgrade depends on your needs and budget: Power Users: If you're in the creative or technical fields pushing your M1 MacBook Pro to its limits, the M3 Pro with 36GB of RAM delivers a game-changing experience. Casual Users: For everyday use like web browsing, email, and light content creation, the M1 MacBook Pro remains plenty capable, making the upgrade less of a necessity. Conclusion The MacBook Pro with the M3 Pro processor and 36GB of RAM represents a significant leap in performance and efficiency over the already impressive M1 models. If you demand the absolute best and have the budget, it's an upgrade worth serious consideration. However, if the existing M1 models still suit your needs well, there's no shame in waiting for future generation updates. Let me know if you'd like a more in-depth analysis of any specific aspects of either model!

It is a quality machine. It does everything I want it to do. I can go the day at work without plugging it in if needed and that includes recording a few hours of videos. If I do anything that is more intense, I usually plug it in. Even then it really doesn't warm up that much. The display is great. It usually sits at the low end of the brightness and it is still very bright. It is really sharp. It might be overkill but if I need the extra ram, it will be there. Happy with the purchase.

Decided to finally upgrade to an Apple Silicone Mac and think I waited for the best one. 36GB should provide future proofing for a few years and this M3 Pro runs cool and forever on battery. Was undecided but on size but like the 16” for personal use where I am not typically at a desk and only traveling with intermittently. 14” would be my preference for a work and carry everyday size.

While this may not have THE best specs of the M3 Pro and Max chipsets, I can attest that it can handle pretty much anything that you throw at it unless you require a lot of local storage. It has a fantastic display and decent connectivity (for a Mac). With amazing battery life and a RAM upgrade, this will definitely get you through an intense workload easily. The Midnight Black model does attract finger prints though… other than that, you won’t regret purchasing.

Upgraded from a 2019 MacBook Pro 16”, and happy I did! Received $825 on that trade-in, well worth the total price of $1,700. Super fast, plenty of ram for multitasking, and the newer features are such an improvement over my older MacBook! Apple Intelligence is pretty cool, really enjoying the new laptop and it was an excellent deal with the trade value received. Highly recommend this laptop if you’re in the market for an upgrade like I was!

This thing is a beast! I use Adobe Photoshop & Premiere and this Mac does not have a problem handling both at once. The amount of RAM is odd but definitely a game changer. I came from an iMac i5 8gb RAM. So in comparison this thing is blazing fast! I have really been enjoying the beautiful display, this laptop is large but portable. I even dropped it without a case and it didn’t even have a scratch on it!

I recently traded in my 2021 MacBook Pro with 16gb of memory and 512gb storage. I upgraded to this model with 36gb of memory and it is extremely fast. The M3 is fantastic and really is great for multi- tasking. I run windows parallel so I can have my windows based program running at the same time and it’s seamless. I would definitely recommend this for anyone who needs a powerful machine!
