I had purchased a MacBook Air to use for my mobil tactical instruction, due to its slim and light weight properties. With that, I needed a VGA adapter to allow me to connect to the PowerPoint projector. There are other brands, but it made sense to spend a little bit more and stick with an Apple product.

I am a substitute teacher in the Palo Alto USD. As a teacher, I needed a dongle to connect my MacBook Pro to the video projectors in most of the classrooms where I sub. BEST BUY carries a full range of APPLE/MAC accessories, and I quickly found exactly the dongle I needed! HooRay!!!

I bought a different VGA adapter that failed within an hour. i bought this DVI and HDMI adapter fom Bestbuyand it continues to work. I really needed the VGA adapter for connections to projectors. I choose to get the dedicated VGA adapter which works fine.

I purchased item to use my older Vizio tv as a monitor because using the hdmi portion with Mac mini to tv have poor resolution and scaling. Tried using the J5 create product for vga to hdmi but I didn't like that fact that you needed a separate usb power for it to work. The J5 create product was $10 dollars more expensive than the Apple branded product. The J5 create vfa to hdmi worked, don't get me wrong but the value wasn't there for me. The Apple vga to mini display port adapter works since it's backwards compatible from the thunderbolt ports,something I didn't know when I purchased the J5 Create unit.

As a consultant I have to give a fair number of presentations so this adapter is essential and has never failed me yet! I would highly recommend this adaptor for anyone that is going to use their Mac for any presentations as VGA is pretty universal on most projectors.

If you need a VGA adapter for MacBooks you need to purchase this one. It's hands down the best on the market. 3rd party adapters sometimes have issues with MacBooks. Not this one. You can be sure that since its an Apple product it will work flawlessly.

Perfect if you don't want to purchase Mac Monitor... I can't say enough about this adapter... This give you the option to use a standard monitor, something that is not promoted but if you are switching from a pc to a mac can save you a bunch of money.

My husband wanted to hook his Mac Book up to a large monitor to do his photography work. He thought he was going to have to buy an expensive piece of equipment until he went to Best Buy. The people there advised him to get this and it works just fine!

After buying knock-off branded accessories from Amazon and been burned multiple times with cheap imitations, do yourself a favor and get the right adapter for the job. Always works and great to have in the bag.

Bought it. Seems to work. Not much else to say about a connector. However, Best Buy might want to look into how to interact with their customers. A few weeks after purchasing this item, I went into Best Buy and tried to purchase a security camera kit. Picked up the package, and started to go look at some other items I was going to buy, when a Best Buy clerk stopped me, pulled the price sign down off the aisle shelf, then told me that it was mistakenly marked with the wrong price (apparently for at least 2 days since I had looked at them a couple of days earlier and had spoken with a different clerk about the price and product). He then told me that I would have to pay an additional $160.00 over the price that was posted. Strangely, the price he was quoting was not one of the prices that were clearly marked on the shelves. The clerk's explanations were very inadequate and I declined to pay the extra money. Buying at Best Buy is usually uneventful and not a problem, but the way this matter was handled cost Best Buy a sale. Not only that sale, but that clerk actions, unintentionally or not, caused me to not bother purchasing 2 large screen TV's from Best Buy I planned to buy during the same visit.

I went for an insignia one first but the picture quality was not very good when plugged in. This apple one gives better picture and faster to get the picture to the screen.

At work we have had bad luck with the off brands like mono prices, etc. Yet users who we’ve given a OEM Apple version NEVER have a issue. So you can either buy the cheep once twice or the better one once.

I needed this adapter for a last minute presentation since the PC we were originally going to use started giving us problems. This adapter was a life saver and I highly recommend anyone with Mac to purchase it just in case it's needed.

This was a last-minute purchase when I needed an adapter for a work project. It works perfectly, adapts to the projector cord that I needed it to. I've already used it multiple times and I haven't had any problems with it.

Searched all over for this part. It was with the Apple stuff not the other adapters. Unfortunately the employee helping me didn't know that. I almost left without it. I decided to look further. However it serves it's purpose!

I bought this item so the next time I need to present from my MAC, I have my own connection. This product allows you to connect your MAC to any standard projector, tv, monitor with a standard VGA connection.

I use a second monitor to improve my productivity and my other monitor is not an Apple brand. This adapter was simple to install and I now have a second monitor. This was cheaper at Best Buy than at Apple also!
