Off name brand one works just as well no reason to spend the extra money it is just a converter

Apple keeps changing their plugs! Don't mind when its obvious,but this one looke identical just a little larger! Got the wrong one, another trip back to store is annoying!

This is a great adapter if you have a macbook and need to connect to a larger display via DVI(best quality). high quality build, easy to plug in and out.

If you want to connect your macbook to a hdmi tv then you will need a connector like this. But then you will also need to buy a dvi to hdmi cable, and then an audio cable as dvi doesn't carry sound. This apple cable is available elsewhere like apple for cheaper.

Just wish apple would make built in ports so you wouldn't need adapters. Just a head ache.
