My Siri remote now will not connect after just one month. It will change the volume or mute but it will not function in any other capacity. Apple made a much needed design change with this second gen remote but blew it with a poor quality implementation.

not enough buttons. sometimes hard to find the main screen for other streaming services

It’s ok but not worth upgrading for the price. Might be if it was $29.99.

I was excited to try this remote out, to try to get away from my 3rd gen and I was not happy. It felt the same as other remote touchy and glitchy. I am staying with my old remote and I returned this remote.

This device alters the search menu display to require user input along a sequential line instead of a table. Also it's extremely irritating that the pad is touch-movement sensitive on such a small area and you end up moving your cursor when unintended simply by touching it. The old (very old and original) control works much better, but it's a battery-hungry little beastie and that's its drawback.

I could never get this to connect to my Apple TV. I called Apple support and spent an hour on the phone with them resetting my system to no avail. They didn’t even have a record of the serial number in their system. This is the second time I have attempted to pair a replacement remote with an Apple TV and both times it’s failed. The first time I ended up just buying a new system.

Disappointed. Hoping Apple significantly improved the old Apple TV remote, but it didn't live up to expectations. Returned it after 7 days.

Great Device not worth the extra cost. Ended up just using phone instead of this.

Way too expensive for the one added feature it offers over the old stock controllers (I.e. the old remote is way too sensitive and you cannot forward/rewind with any precision). Why the customer is left paying MORE for a product to offset apple’s design flaw on the old remote seems lousy to say the least.

you gotta really mess up in order for me to write a bad review... this is the SECOND FAULTY REMOTE i purchase from apple.

Thought we get another remote ... his and hers. But Apple 4K only allows one remote. Why? Angry face. So... take it back.

It won’t connect no matter what way I try or look up online: it’s an expensive paper weight.

This product worked twice and it’s just wasted space I wouldn’t purchase just use your phone

On my 2nd remote and this one just stopped working

Great remote for Apple TV. They got it right. The previous remotes were just terrible. This one has a great feel and is 100 percent functional.

Great Apple Remote. Easy to use and simple to charge

What a significant improvement over the first generation device. They finally fixed all of the problems that the, oh I am so cool look at my remote device had. The design now allows better tactical feedback of actions. It is less prone to accidental touches in the button areas by physically creating space and barriers between buttons. Oh how I loathed the first generation remote and love the new generation. This is what it should have been to begin with.

This is a great remote, a nice upgrade from the last remote and better than using the app on iOS devices. We recently switched to DirecTV Stream and since it’s an app, we don’t need a box anymore but we did need a better remote. The ability to fast forward on all the streaming services is great now, and for that reason alone it’s worth the upgrade if you are on the fence.

We could not find our Apple remote so we purchased this one. Works great. Highly recommended.
