I was really hoping not to like this Monitor, and had all the intentions to take it back to Best Buy if it did not meet my expectations. this is an expensive Monitor, I got it for $949.00 dollars, but let's be honest, what Apple product isn't. I got this for my MacBook Pro Retina (2014), and so far, it's done everything I could possibly want it to do. This is not the best Monitor you can purchase, and I'm sure there are a lot that are cheaper and would work just as good, however, as far as functionality with my MacBook Pro, this is the perfect monitor, the Thunderbolt and Power connection is easy, and the display is large and very sharp. After 4 months of use, I've had no problems at all, I haven't had an issue with glare,but, at the same time, my monitor is in a lowly lighted room, the USB Ports in the back are nice, although they're not 3.0, they're still very functional and gets the job done. To summarize it all, it effectively turns your MacBook Pro into a very nice Desktop PC.

This is an awesome screen!! I'm super productive & can have 3-4 screens going at once.

If you have any model of Mac this is the best display I have connected to. For pro and air books it doubles as docking station with the integrated cable.

The new Thunderbolt display is awesome! My last display was 20" and the 27" size and picture quality far surpass the old one. Lots of room to spread things out.

This monitor is absolutely amazing! It is very big and makes it easy for any level of computer user to be able to see and use comfortably. It can be used to connect to a Mac or other computer or apple device with a thunderbolt port. I'm not sure if you've ever heard of thunderbolt but it is a fairly new, super fast and very easy to manage connection that is changing the speeds at which peripherals communicate with each other. Not only does this device hook up through a thunderbolt port, it also plugs into the wall for an optional charging port for a MacBook Pro. You can use this Display as a docking station for your MBP or you can use it to connect to any other device with an available thunderbolt port. The monitor also comes with 3 high speed USB ports and an Ethernet and FireWire port as well not to mention an additional thunderbolt port since you can daisy chain thunderbolt devices. All in all, if you're thinking of getting a bigger high quality monitor, look no further. If you're scared of the price a bit, let me be the first to tell you that I was also scared of the price but I went for it and it is so worth it! I would recommend this monitor to anyone needing a bigger high quality monitor or even a graphics design or photography amateur or professional . Also, it could be used for any student with a MacBook Pro wanting to use this as a "desktop" solution without spending the extra money to buy a whole desktop computer. But don't just take my advice for it, go see for yourself!

First off, this is a great display, and for the people giving it two stars for not being compatible with earlier models, you should read a little more about it before you buy it. They offer the same version of this display, just with a display chord instead of thunderbolt for older macbooks and macs. Don't make the reviews skewed because you didn't read up on it before hand. The display itself; however, is amazing. the resolution is top notch and the bigger screen makes video editing, playing games, surfing the internet, and pretty much everything else easier, as well as better! I currently use it with my MacBook Pro 15 inch (Late 2011) as a docking station/desktop. its great if you had to give up your love for a desktop for the mobility of a laptop. You won't regret this purchase.

This is my second TB display. Super easy to piggyback off of first display and set up to expand the desktop. Had an issue with the first one not powering up after being disconnected from my Macbook Pro. This is why I would prefer a power button. It is inconvenient to crawl around to get to the display's power plug to go through the sequence of events to get it to come back on. On the plus side, the built in USB, Thunderbolt, and Ethernet ports on the back are very nice to have. It is also super nice to have only two cables attach to the MBP, power and Thunderbolt. Ease of piggybacking...unmatched. If you can get past the price, I would HIGHLY recommend.

This monitor is very clear, and is a great help when previewing video. The addition of the usb and Thunderbolt connector slots adds to the ease of use for the whole system, and the card reader slot helps as well. Very,very glad I spent the money.

It's a great monitor, runs a very high resolution. Has built in sound, ethernet, usb2.0 firewire and thunderbolt. Only requires one cable to hook a macbook pro up to everything. The bad is that it had a strong smell for the first month that gave me a headache every time I used it. Seems to have dissipated now. Also, I think it was a little over priced for what it is but that's apple for you.

Crisp, clear picture with decent sound for a monitor. The product DOES come with built in thunderbolt cord as well as MagSafe adapter with attachments for new and older gens.

I am so done with PCs, so I decided to go Mac and go quality big. After researching all comparable products, I decided on Macbook pro, with the Thunderbolt Display. I have not been disappointed. The display and Pro are better then I thought.

I love this display. Beautiful, bright image and very good color. My favorite feature though is the single Thunderbolt connection to my MacBook Pro, allowing me to keep my peripherals (external SuperDrive, hard drive, iPhone cable, etc) connected on my desk and just have one cable to plug in when I get home. The internal speakers are surprisingly good as well. Only reason it gets 4 stars instead of 5 is that the price is a bit high, but a great MacBook companion if you want to spend the $..

First of I am a programmer and I was looking for some big screen, since I recently got new MacBook Pro, I thought this would go nice with it. Pros: Amazing picture quality, details, colors. Speakers that comes with it have great sound quality. Camera and mic on it are great. Fact that monitor has USB ports (great, because my mac has only 2), bluetooth, ethernet connectine just makes whole experience differently. Cons: Price - definitely not worth money you are paying, you can get great excellent monitor for about half a price of this one. Size and weight - Apple's iMac is a fully functional machine for work and it is way much thinner and lighter. USB 2.0 - The fact that USB ports are 2.0 and not 3.0 is disappointing, but for me wasn't a big deal since on those ports I connect devices like mouse. For data transfer I use ports on my mac. Overall: It is a great product for people who are working with images a lot (designers, photographers, etc.) or developers. For a regular users, it is just expensive monitor.

Large size and high resolution makes work 10 times easier. The built in docking station is a treat. Power and Firewire is all that I plug in and I have immediate access to all my printers and equipment. Speakers are much better than I expected and the built in camera is excellent. Worth the price.

I really like the monitor, but really had to swallow hard before making the purchase. At nearly $1000, it was hard to justify the expense. Now that I bit the bullet, I am very happy with the decision. The built in USB-3, Thunderbolt and Firewire 800 ports run seamlessly through the computer and make it easy for me to swab different devices in an out of my system. The display is a perfect match for my mini and works when I want to use my air with a monitor rather than the built in screen. I would purchase again.

great clarity, accurate color and easy to calibrate, ample screen size saved my eyes, super easy plug and play, very good stand design, like the extra features of additional USB ports,etc. Used for photography business, heavy Photo Shop user.

I've used 1080p HDTVs as monitors before, but this is by far the best monitor for resolution and seamless connectivity with my MacBook Pro. Don't forget that on the back of it there's 3 USB connections and this monitor will power your laptop.

This is the second identical Mac monitor I've purchased. The first one I purchased for my office and, doing a lot of close computer work, I found the resolution and detail great for my eyes. So, I decide to spring for a second identical monitor to use with my laptop at home.

Wall mounted, Very clear picture and sound.It was an impulse by and we don't regret it. The wall mount makes it very useful for different angles of viewing. The clarity of the picture was surprising at first but we have grown used to it. All in all a good TV.

I have one of these on every desk where I do a significant amount of work. It's the perfect companion to any Apple laptop. The quality of the screen is great, with the only caveat being that harsh lighting will cause glare on the glass.
