My husband bought this for me as a gift to upgrade from our 1st gen Apple TV. So far, I like the new interface compared to the old Apple TV. I struggled with the touchpad on the new remote though. I felt it was very sensitive causing me to mess up my password A LOT! I do like that most of the time at password screens it’ll give me the option to type it in via my iPhone. I like the speak to text feature on the remote as well. We bought the 4K version and love watching the 4K movies on it. I haven't really played games in the arcade feature but My daughter has a great time playing. It was a great upgrade!

I was hesitant to buy the AppleTV 4K because I was sure Apple was going to pull a fast one and make me pay to upgrade the movies I’ve already purchased to 4K... just to make a grip of money instead of hooking up faithful customers.
Well Thankfully I was wrong. Once they started emailing me that most of the new big name movies like the Harry Potter series, Deadpool, Wonder Woman, etc. were now available in 4K at no additional charge I went that day to go get my new ApplTV 4K. Besides the 4K content it has a ton more apps than previous versions, and the processor is much faster than my Samsung smart TV so I use it for everything but Amazon Prime. (Which I’ve heard rumors that Apple is finally going to make an app for)
Overall exactly what I wanted and so far a fast, compact, and easy to use little box. Highly recommended for those with a lot of iTunes movies like me and a new 4K TV.
Just a heads up, these DO NOT allow you to download content. Unfortunately the extra storage is for apps and game caches, not for downloading movies or music. I got the 32 GB one and it rocks.

I'll start by saying I'm not an Apple user...nothing against them, I just don't find myself drawn to their products for the most part. The Apple TV, however, is a product that I'm glad I got to know.
I've used a Gen3 for a few years now (it was given to me) and I found that instead of using my Xbox for things like Netflix, YouTube, etc., like I had been, I began using the ATV.
The Gen3 still works, but I upgraded to the ATV4K through the DirecTV NOW offer, and I was so impressed with the improvements, I went to my local BB and bought another for the bedroom, primarily because the DTVN app only works with Gen4 or newer. Everything that I grew to love about the older Apple TV has been made better with this latest version. The only thing I can point out that seems to be a step backwards is the touch pad on the remote...I find myself doing input slower since I don't want to overshoot every letter/number I'm trying to work with. Luckily, I can use my voice to do inputs and searches, so I really only use the touch pad for navigation more than entry.
Nice job, Apple.

I always have doubts before purchasing Apple TV if it really be useful. But from the moment I set up, I am already in love with this. Easy setup and syncing with other products like sound bar is a breeze unlike other remotes. Siri is great and all apps are just perfect. Very easy to use and just loving it.

The Apple TV 4K is a great product. Designed just like every other Apple product and very easy to setup. I'm not all into the "Apple world", I'm an Android kinda guy, but I got this because I have purchased movies through iTunes and now they've all mostly been upgraded (for free) to 4K. So I wanted to be able to stream them to my TV. The Apple TV 4K is expensive. I didn't really want to spend almost $200 for this, but I did. It's fast, it works great and all my movies look fantastic too! I also added a few apps as well. Very cool

I'm in heaven, well sort of. I have struggled with streaming, Roku sticks, Amazon Fire sticks, built in television apps, PS4 - gosh darn, just about every kind of streaming method, I've tried it. And none of them hold a candle to Apple TV.
Clean simple interface. A major pain in the neck to set up and get it to stick to my wireless network. But very kind Apple support got me through the worst of it, and thankfully all the nonsense connecting to my network is gone.
The image is spectacular out of this thing. Seriously great. On image quality, I'm comparing to built in apps on an LG C9 4K television (the apps on this television do Dolby Vision). I'm blown away with how fast this thing streams. I get full 4K almost instantly - it always took the other streamers 30 seconds to get there.
The interface is ultra clean. It is essentially an iPhone or iPad screen with apps. Since this is television, the apps used will be a small number. An incredible pleasure to navigate that home screen.
OK, the downside. Like every Apple product made, there are no instructions. You have to figure out how to do things - simple stuff with no real clues on how to do them. The remote has 4 buttons and volume control. And the magic touch pad at the top. It took me a long time to figure out most of the remote. Killing an app should be the same procedure as on the phone - nope, double click the screen button, then select the app, and swipe up. Not the least bit intuitive.
Frankly, for me there are only three buttons. That Siri microphone thing is worthless - they should make that a long press on the touch pad, and put something useful in the place.
Fast forwarding is really complicated. Each app seems to respond differently. Hulu, most of the time likes a double tap (if there are commercial markers) to move past commercials, and then a press and hold to time move forward. Philo only like single button presses to move forward, it doesn't seem to like hold and press. Criterion is the most normal, press and hold to fast forward (but only at one speed). Disney + acts fine sometimes, other times it shows additional information on press and hold.
And sometimes that touch pad doesn't like to respond. A support person said, treat it like a cell phone screen. That has helped a bit.
Yeah - this is the streaming box to end all streaming boxes. It really works great. The advantage of a real processor and memory in teh box is obvious.

Bought this device as part of my cord cutting plan. Super easy setup process (especially if you have an iPhone or iPad). Performance has been great. Absolutely my only real minor gripe is that the remote is quite small, thin and narrow. Sometimes it can be a little tricky to pick it up off of a table or desk. The touch surface are is also overly sensitive, but once you get used to it, it works great. Wish there was a mute button also. Bottom line, I'm very happy with this product and would recommend to anyone looking for a streaming device.

LOVE IT! Apple channels don't have much I'm interested in HOWEVER it is the perfect interface for viewing other programing like Amazon and Discovery +. Everything you subscribe to is all in one place and the sound and picture quality is noticeably enhanced by the Apple TV device over what I get if going straight through my smart tv app for the same shows. Liked it so much I bought a second one for my bedroom. The only drawback is that you need one for each TV and they are somewhat expensive.

I bought this as I have had all versions of the Apple TV since it came out, and this one was to upgrade me up to 4k as I was about to upgrade my TV as well. Everything works very well, and you have many streaming options (even Amazon prime now). It is easy to setup, and causes no problems.

This is the best Apple TV version yet - it's easy to use and more powerful than previous versions. I don't love the touch pad on the Siri remote as it can be too sensitive but the functionality of the remote it terrific. Also, being able to use my iPad as a remote is also a great feature.

Love the picture quality of the new version and of course the 4K. Honestly I will probably never buy another 4K Blu-ray Disc as iTunes is way cheaper, more convenient and the quality is fantastic! Apple upgrading many of my previous purchases to 4K for free is an unbelievable bonus.

I use my APPLE TV for all my content binges. The interface is user friendly. It is simple to navigate from one app to the other. It offers all the apps I need. I mainly use it for NETFLIX, HBO MAX, HULU, and PRIME VIDEO. The picture it produces looks very nice on my 4K TV. The only issue is the remote. Although the remote is a huge improvement from gen3, I still believe it is easy to lose because of the size and color. Overall, the remote works well and the battery life is very good. Easy to charge.

We purchased this 4K Apple TV because we needed a new one to replace the one we gave away to my parents. Found out this Thing is bigger, better, faster and has a new interface with a new remote control. Two thumbs up!

Had since April and works seamlessly, but wasn't sure I made the right decision with the smaller GB.
For what I use AppleTV for I absolutely made the right decision and dont regret it at all.
I use it for Netflix and Hulu, so I have no complaints.
Also, I have yet to charge the remote. That's a plus, as I was wondering about that.
Setup was easy and never acts crazy or seems glitchy.
Glad I bought it for big flat screen that wasnt a smart tv. Works just as good as my smart tv, so it's a win.
Love that I can mirror the iPad on the tv, too.

Overall this is an excellent way to leave cable TV and it's high cost behind. However it's not an easy change because there is a learning curve some people may not want to tackle. First the good things. If you have a 4K TV this Apple TV 4K will give you simply outstanding clarity and color. It even made a noticeable difference in picture quality on my older non-4K TV. After having a large cable box this miniature black Apple TV box takes up very little room and although the miniature remote takes some getting used to, it's a welcome change if you don't lose it in your couch cushions. There are some negatives. The Apple TV 4K is not cheap. The remote is very sensitive and frustrating until you get used to it after a week or two. You have to pay for an App or two to get local channels and movies you want. There is no mute button which is annoying. If you have a receiver and sound system it takes some effort to get everything working right. Would I go back to cable TV? No. I'm saving a lot of money and am able to watch every program I had before.

The beauty of this device is some of your previously purchased movies will now be in 4K. Video quality is excellent especially if you’re TV supports HDR. Great product with great software and now has Amazon Prime. If you’re invested in Apple ecosystem you can’t go wrong.

Decided to purchase this after buying a 4K tv and learning how little content is out there. Love how Apple automatically upgrades your existing purchased or downloaded movies to 4K when available. Also easy to use and offers solutions for when we decide to cut the cord.

I previously had an Amazon Fire TV stick before making the jump to Apple TV, and I don't regret it a single bit. Yes it is pricier than most streaming devices out there, but you definitely get what you pay for. Not only is it incredibly easy to set up, but the video quality is impressive and its interface is super easy to navigate.
One thing to note is that the remote does take time to get use to, however, if you use other Apple devices, you can just download the app instead. However, it does have voice control (and Siri) which makes it incredibly easy to find whatever you are looking for.

In my opinion the price on the Apple TV 4K is a bit steep compared to previous models. Despite it's high cost it truly seems to live up to the hype about 4k. It does output in HDR 4K. We have been using this with our new LG OLED TV and I have to say that everything we stream on it looks amazing.
Since we have been using it the last few weeks I have yet to have it disconnect from our wifi or have any slow down buffering time like our old Apple TV would occasionally suffer from. The new remote, and voice search function work extremely well and we have enjoyed it so far.
If you are looking for a premium feeling streaming box with great quality that is easy to use this is it! The unit itself is very sleek like always. We have enjoyed our time with it so far.
My only complaint is that at times the audio can be quiet while using some streaming apps on it. Hopefully that will be a fixed in a future update.

Purchased the 32GB models for other TVs in household, mainly to have access to same apps available on our 64GB version on our new 4K TV. Previously owned Gen2 and Gen3, so we previously had not access to downloadable apps. Apps automatically transferred over from account per our first unit. Worked right out of the box even with Harmony remote, but I updated the driver for the Apple TV 4K to be safe. Installation was straightforward, and even allowed to connect to our iPhone to expedite the process. All of our Apple TVs are hard-wired internet, so cannot comment on WiFi connections. Both 32GB and 64GB operate the same, only more storage for larger apps and/or games. Apple is gradually updating content to 4K, and some existing bundles (e.g. Bond movies, Harry Potter, etc.) are already upgraded at no additional expense. It even appears that the picture on our HD TVs looks better.
