So I purchased 2 of these for the purpose of watching HBO Max because it wasn't available on a Fire TV. One is on a Sony 4K TV and the other on a Samsung 1080P TV. Well I now use it for most of my streaming content, aside from Amazon programming. That's not to say it's been a smooth experience. I had what I thought was a compatible HDMI cable for this, but it was a no go. I had to go on Amazon (Best Buy didn't have it) and order a Belkin Ultra HD High Speed HDMI cable (Apple's recommended brand and cable) for this to work correctly on my Sony 4K TV. I purchased a 2M (6FT) cable that cost $39.99. BUT I still had issues with Apple TV on my 4K Sony. The one that is installed on my 1080P Samsung TV works without a hitch. The one on my Sony X900F still gives me issues today. During the setup process Apple TV lets me choose my TV's resolution. Even after CORRECTLY telling it what I have and with the PROPER HDMI cable, my screen will flash and I have to unplug the unit and let it restart. This happens almost daily, and I have read and read and read on forums to find a fix, but nothing has worked. I have swapped my Apple TV units around and it's still the same result. I'm not sure if its a handshake issue with a Sony TV, but that is my problem. If you have any other brand of TV, are you experiencing the same issue? I don't care for the included remote, I still can't get the dang slide and press navigation control to work for me. I have to either use SIRI's voice command or the app on my 11 Pro Max. If not for that issue on my Sony TV, I would have given it 5 stars. I like the ability to play videos and show photos on my TV with little effort (Apple does a great job integrating all their devices seamlessly). When it is working if the content you are watching is in 4K HDR or Dolby Vision, it's an incredible experience. On my 1080P TV the picture is equally great.

This really comes handy specially cause i travel allot and some of the TV's at the hotels don't always have the channels you want to see so this takes care of that.

If your TV supports 4k, definitely buy this one. However if your TV is only up to 1080p, you might want to consider the previous generation. I just love the remote

We recently upgraded to this version of the Apple TV, as the one we had for about 3-5 yrs (forget when we got it), was starting to show its age, and we wanted one with all the new bells & whistles. We noticed a difference in the speed and ease of use immediately. If you're looking to upgrade an older model Apple TV, I highly recommend picking one of these up, it's so choice.

We researched many other products and found this to be best to integrate with our other apple devices. Excellent picture quality and universal remote works well.

The best part about this is the remote. It’s super intuitive and Siri works like a charm. The IOS interface allows you to switch between apps like you would on your other IOS devices (iPhone, iPad) by double tapping the home screen on the remote and even swipe up to close the app like you would on your IOS devices. My favorite part is that I could be in the middle of watching several shows (more like 8 or 9), all at different seasons, episodes or even midway through an episode, and all I need to do is tell Siri “resume Married With Children” and it will resume the last episode I was watching regardless of how many other shows I’ve watched since then, which is amazing! No more need to remember the name of the last episode or even which app it’s on (HULU, Netflix, Amazon Prime). Goodbye scrolling through channels to see what’s on tv. Lastly, the remote magically controls the tv volume and even turns it off and on from the Apple remote. Even better, I tested this out and moved the Apple TV to the bedroom from the living room. All I did was plug in the HDMI cord and viola. The remote worked with the tv without having to reprogram anything! Innovation at its finest!

The Apple TV streaming device functions extremely well and allows the viewing of many networks and television channels as well as untold numbers of movies, etc. Using the Apple TV is much less expensive than cable TV. For certain viewing, one must keep just the basic local TV channels on cable to be allowed to view certain commercial TV channels.

This unit is used every day and is perfect for my needs. I have a very large collection of media stored on this Mac and it is very easy to watch any of it at any time using this Apple TV. You do need an app installed on the Apple TV for this purpose (I use Infuse 6 Pro) but that's easy enough to do. I've never had any problems with this unit, it just works.

This AppleTV is faster and better than earlier models. Easy to setup and easy to use. The remote is very sensitive so handle with care otherwise you’ll change channels unintentionally.

I have purchased and used almost every category of streaming device: Apple, Amazon Fire, Google Nexus, NVidia, Roku, etc. Apple TV is by far the best, no lagging, superb 4K, spectacular sound, especially with Atmos speakers. The choice of apps and video is unparalleled.

This Apple TV far exceeds the older one I have. With the addition of the Amazon App due in the next couple of weeks I will be able to get down to 1 remote.

Previously had A1625 (4th Generation) and after purchasing my new LG OLED 4K TV wanted the A1842 4K. What a difference it made and with Dolby Vision makes picture even better. Very easy installation, and had up and running in no time. Did not have to reinstall my previous apps which was automatically transferred.

Apple does not dissapoint with this new 4k streaming device. It automatically connects to all of your tech allowing for an effortless fluid connection...

I’ve had all four apple TVs I just bought a 4K TV and there is a huge difference it’s cheaper then a 4K DVD player and you can stream a lot of 4K content

Apple has come through again. 4K is great. Love the picture. Happy that movies were automatically upgraded to 4K. Also like the menu button now has a raised edge for ease of use in dark areas.

Apple doesn't disappoint with this device. I had a generation one AppleTV for years. I am happy I held out for the 4K edition. I like being able to choose the apps I want. I am still upset some apps require a TV provider. If I had a TV provider I wouldn't be using an Apple TV. Overall, this is a solid device that delivers all of my streaming needs.

This device is so easy to set up, especially if you have another apple device like an iPhone. It got all the info it needed to get from my phone to auto setup. It loaded all my pictures and videos from the device. I had a Roku and this is head and shoulders above that

Great price on an open box item at Bestbuy. Look and worked like new at a nice discounted price. This replaced my 1st Gen appletv. This one is much faster and has better connectivity. I love all the features of the new remote and 4k is awesome. Worth the investment!! Thanks BB.
