Good for transferring photos from camera only

Its nice to be able to transfer the photos on the go, without a laptop. However It only seems to work when connected to a camera directly. I tried connecting 3 different card readers and a Samsung SSD and each time iOS says it uses to much power. Now, I sure haven't tried every SD card reader out there but from my experience they won't work.

Overall a good product.
