    Update to my original review

I originally gave this a 1 star review (see "Arlo or Barfo") and Best Buy doesn't have a way for customers to edit their reviews. Originally and despite having purchased my first set of the original Arlo cameras in 2015 AND LOVE THEM because they worked so well while we were on vacation in the UK, my Arlo Go purchased May 2018 kept showing "SIM CARD NOT FOUND." I took it back to Best Buy (5-3-18) to get a refund, and they were able to get the Arlo Go up and running. For now, I'm giving it a 4 star review and probably will go with a 5 star review in a few weeks, if it performs as well as my older Arlo cameras that use my wifi at home. I'm placing the Arlo Go in a tree near the entrance to a ranch we have, to see if any scoundrels try to enter our property (we have had theft here before) and I'm hoping the Arlo Go will give me some peace-of-mind for the gate (1/2 mile from our house) as do the original Arlo cameras do.

    GOOD AND BAD

I have had this camera for 8 months now and here is my review: Pros: Wireless connectivity through sim card-no need for wifi nearby One can place it anywhere there is 3G (or better) signal. Adjustable sensitivity for notifications to motion and noise. Works well on that. Two way communication Very loud audio. You can hear anything even from 100m away. Good daylight picture (with average 4G signal) Cons: Bad picture quality if the weather is humid or has even a light fog. The lense gets wet and you cannot see anything. Look at picture on early morning and later that day. Very mediocre night picture (with average 4G signal)

    GREAT Camera - BUT ...

SUPER EXPENSIVE to operate, especially if you have a lot of motion. VERY ODD that regardless where you look Arlo does not post pricing until you have to signup for a plan. Remember the Arlo Go needs 2 plans. One wireless and one storage. See pictures below (as of 10/18/2017)

I own 2 Arlo go cameras now.. the concept is great but Cameras can lag Also I hate that they are super expensive and so are the data plans if they had a unlimited plan I would change the star rating because that's just more money out of my pocket and the minutes don't last long about a week on the 225 min plan smh so you see it gets expensive for the plan and well the device itself not sure if it's worth it anymore..disappointed.

I ordered online but had to return. I called customer support, before I took it back. I decided not to talk and hung up, well they called me back 5 times until I answered my cell, I finally answered and he said miss Saylor, and I ask, how did he know who I was and he said my name popped up when I called and hung up. I decided to talk with him, because I didn’t really want to return the camera. He helped me and then said I needed to pay 70.00 more dollars to get the camera working, I said no and he got really aggressive and rude, this guy scared me with the continuous call and aggression, so I said I don’t need your help and I hung up. I took it back to the store in Knoxville TN and sad to say I knew more than the sales person trying to help me, so I just gave up and returned the camera. I give it a 3 only because I couldn’t get any help to use it any your customer support guy was really scary.

Amazing video and audio recordings! The only complaint I have is it wasn't clear that the model sold was only on AT&T's network. Being a Verizon customer, this caused some issues for me and I had to return this model.

Garbage! Setup sounds easy. It is not. Setup an Arlo account, charge camera battery, scan QR code using the Arlo camera. It does not work. Had to contact support (not easy to get support). Got it working. Paid a $4.99/month service fee. Arlo takes the fee but does not send the subscription to my account consistently. Had to delete and re-add the camera to my account. QR code does not scan. Contact support. No support since I don't have a camera attached to my account. Cannot add the camera to my account since QR code does not work. See where I'm going with this?

Very good product. Does as promised. Compact foot print, attractive, yes easily concealed. It works great for the project I have a in mind for it and it is that a price that I can afford so I would recommend it for others that have a need such as area monitoring well not on site also it appears to be rugged and able to withstand the weather has it advertised and the stats. The brand-name seems to Have Good street CRED and I am hoping that it will last a good amount of time and provide the coverage that I need remotely.

This might be a good product but I wouldn't know because I can't get to work. As things stand right now, the Geek Squad was not able to sync camera to my iPhone and suggested that I needed to contact arlo to get a replacement. Arlo support is nearly impossible to communicate with so I guess I am stuck with a $400.00 device that won't work. Unless someone can tell me how to correct the problem with the SIM card, I will never shop at Best Buy again.

Plans via ARLO are expensive and the length of recording is too short. If you have a lot of traffic, persons, animals, cars, bikes then your recording will be used up before your plan expires. The longest recording by ARLO is 225 minutes per month. Use your AT&T plan may be cheaper

I bought my first on in late 2017 to install at a rural property I own. I didn’t have internet there and was skeptical at first if the Arlo Go would serve my needs in regard to “keeping an eye” on my property and two dogs. The Arlo Go performed so well, and easy to work (I’m 67 and not too tech savvy) and I soon bought a second Arlo Go and a data plan to fit my needs. The app works great on my iPhone 7 Plus.

I purchased this camera on the premise I would be able to use it with cell phone carrier. (AT&T at the time. The geek squad said It was only comparable with VERIZON. As directed by the sales representatives I switched my service from AT&T to VERIZON. The geek squad called and made arrangements three times to set me up. I was worried about not being able to return the camera as months had gon by. A pair of Geek Squad Reps inally came to the house and looked over my camera and the accessories I had purchased and informed me it was not compatible with VERIZON and that needed an AT&T account so they could install a SIM card. I am disabled. I still have the camera - never been used and the onion skins they sold me that are the wrong size.

VERY hard to scan it we still can't use it. We ordered through Verizon and had no issues with that one. We still have this in the box and can't return it =( It won't scan the code. No matter how much we tried now we wasted almost $500.

Camera doesn’t work after just a few months. Best Buy won’t help with Arlo products and sends you to the manufacturer. Arlo support said the camera is out of stock and they don’t know when they will get more. So now my building has no security for an unknown length of time. Also I cannot get my money back to buy an alternative product. Be sure you can have time of no security if buying from them. Camera break and they make you wait. But for how long?

We use this camera on our booths and trailers for peace of mind when we go to shows and events. It's also been used to protect our tools in thw homes that we are working on that don't have WiFi available. Great peace of mind!

When purchased from Best Buy, it is NOT compatible wIth Verizon! Do not waste your time because you can not get a sims card to work in it: These cameras are restricted to certain cellular services and compatible with Arlo. After returning the camera to Best Buy, I purchased the Same Arlo camera through my cellular provider and an additional line On my plan. Now cameras work and serves it’s purpose.

I ordered the AT&T compatible Arlo GO and got the Arlo GO compatible version. To clarify, Arlo uses the AT&T network as their own proprietary ‘network’, not billable to my AT&T account. I worked around This misleading inconvenience.
