I am very satisfied with my choice at purchasing the Arris Surfboard Modem wifi Router. Connecting the modem with my Xfinity provider was an easy set-up. I do not have any complaints with the speed or lagging. I made a great choiceon this purchase. I recommend this product it because it helps eliminate the monthly charge of renting from any cable company.

I replaced my comcast router (I own) with a newer Arris model that has higher speed and better performance. When I tested the performance of both these routers I have gone from 50mbps to 300mbps. My internet speed in drastically faster and WiFi performance much better. I have owned this router for almost a year and have had no issues with it. If your not tech savvy you may want someone to install it, modify setting and change the password.

Worked great. Then stopped working again this week. This time Comcast by phone abd then in person could not get it to work. They said modem was defective. So I had to return it and get a new one. Waiting to see The modem is great. I’m willing to give the new one a try

I wanted to replace the Comcast modem that I was paying a monthly rental fee on from the time I got it, and since I have the Comcast triple play package there were none available for purchase that I could find that were Comcast approved for use on their triple play package, after checking their web site for approved modems I found this one listed and decided to purchase it and glad I did, it was easy to install and did not have to call Comcast to activate just follow the set up instructions, wifi works great throughout the whole house.

Recently changed my ISP to Comcast/Xfinity and decided to buy my own Router/Modem to save the $13.00/mo rental fee (payback about 16 months). Had no problem with the physical install/replacement of the Xfinity unit and return it to the local Xfinity store. Since I have the the Triple Play, the only minor issue was the startup/transition of the phone line. You have to call a helpline to complete the transfer to the new router/modem, but was completed without issue. Performance so far (about 1 month) has been very good. I have been experimenting with streaming TV/Netflix using the Xfinity Stream App with positive results (although the Xfinity Steam App on my Samsung TV is a bit wonky).

Speed is very good but the unit is very big and bulky. Only could get it in white, which makes it stick out even more. Should be made available in black as well. The icons on the front panel are quite large and put out a lot of white light at night.....great if you are looking for a night light as well. Not many choices out there that support telephone for Comcast. Would only recommend to a friend after I made them aware of these issues.

For 4+ years, I have rented Xfinity's TG1682 Modem. I never had a problem - until Comcast remotely and unknowingly restricted access to the Advanced Setting interface in the Modem, thus disabling port forwarding. Without port forwarding, I had no access to my smart home devices and cameras from outside my network. After arguing with Comcast for days, I bought this Arris Surfboard. It IS the OEM version of the TG1682 modem. It took a few hours to get the voice/phone working (there is a specific procedure that has to be followed), but Comcast gladly helped.
Port forwarding is back on and all is well.
As stated, this IS the Comcast modem, just not Comcast branded. It has newer firmware, works great, all advanced functions are accessible. The Wifi signal is stronger and reaches further. Internet speeds on my 200Mbps subscription now reach 225 consistently and 250 occasionally. I attribute this to the upgrades made over the last 4+ years since I first got the TG1682.
For the occasional problem I've had - all due to Comcast - the Arris tech support group has been friendly, helpful and even taught me a few tricks on troubleshooting and setup.
The trade off of being able to once again configure my own network access is that the Modem is now my headache to solve and not just handing it off to Comcast - but that I can deal with.

The Arris SURFboard is giving me me very reliable performance. I use the WiFi function for several devices and also hard wire it directly to my desktop. The range and speed on the wireless function are great for normal household uses. I also run YouTube TV on my flat screen through a ROKU, and connect my land line phone through the Arris. Everything works well, and set up was straightforward.

Hated paying for rental from internet provider, so I have always purchased my own. Modem/router setup itself was easy and it performs well. This is identical to the lease unit except for its color. Only drawback to thus product is you have to deal with the customer service of Comcast/Xfinity to add it to your account.

I decided to get this because Comcast raised their rental rate. The Arris is basically the same as the Comcast rental but give me back local control of advanced features. Comcast recently moved Port Forwarding and other item to the cloud which I was not a fan of. This modem is a bit pricy but does have dual band WiFi and phone (land line) which I needed. I now have great speed, dual WiFi and no longer have to pay Comcast for the modem.

Wanted to get rid of my Comcast telephone modem and save on that cost so I purchased this router/telephony modem which someone recommended to me.
The router/modem works fine with no problems working with Xfinity Voice. No static or dropped calls and signal strength is very good even when I take my phone outside the house.
Only objections I have with this product is the price which is higher than what it should be in my humble opinion and the fact that it can work if you lose electricity via battery back-up but unfortunately it does not come with a battery.
A call to Comcast at around 3 in the morning and after I gave them the MAC address the device was activated and worked with my phone within about 30 minutes after taking it out of the box.
Have had no problems or complaints with it since purchase and it only takes a minute or so to reinitialize if there is a power lost.

This works really well. Unless you have old lines going to your house. It’s fast downloads are great and with working from home and three others using internet at the same time it’s wonderful. But Spectrum goes out at least 5 times or more a day 7 days a week. But I love this when our internet works!!
Fast reliable, and not very expensive. It ranks up with the old netgear I had.

I am happy with my new
ARRIS - SURFboard Wireless AC-1750 Dual-Band Wi-Fi Router with DOCSIS 3.0 Cable Modem . It was easy to set up with the help of an Arris representative. I have had no problems with this new modem. It was more expensive than other modems, but it is worth the extra price. I would recommend this modem.

I finally got tired of paying Comcast every month for a Cable modem/wi-fi router that is phone line supporting!
I bit the bullet and pod the price... Hook up was relatively easy and it works better as far as speed and range than the Comcast box...
Now, it is paying for itself and I don’t have to hear complaints from the family about speed issues or network connection drops!!
Win-Win!!

I wanted to switch to Xfinity voice and this was the perfect solution. It’s a bit tall and bulky for a modem, but a solid product. You can deactivate the Wifi Using it’s internal settings if needed. It’s worked flawlessly since I purchased it. I highly recommend it unless you’re tight on desk space.
