    Step up from Origins

While Origins wasn't a bad game, it had a lot that was bland about it. However, if you liked Origins you should definitely enjoy Odyssey. From a gameplay standpoint, it's largely the same. I personally played as Kassandra and she has far more charisma than Bayek from Origins. From what I've seen, she also has much better line delivery than Alexios so I would recommend playing as her. The world is gigantic and it's much more beautiful than an endless desert. It looks fantastic both graphically and aesthetically. Unfortunately, the side tasks can become redundant and are largely a requirement in order to stay leveled up enough to survive the later stages of the game. In other words, this should really be a 12-15 hour storyline, but ends up being 35+ due to being forced to do countless side missions. But if you are the type of gamer that just wants more to do then there's plenty. The story is much more than a simple revenge hunt this time around. While not exactly complex, it's definitely engaging and I was often curious to see what would happen next. Even though I prefer the style of the games before they went full RPG, it's nice to see that they are at least making improvements within this new direction. I wouldn't consider the replay value high, but overall I'd say it's worth a play.

    Complete Freedom

This game takes an interesting divergence from its predecessors. While you do play a simulation set in the past, you have the power of choice through conversations with key figures. You are no longer set on a specific path dictated by the memories of the assassin. For better or worse, the choices you make in and out of combat will impact the world around you and how the story ultimately ends. In addition, the game builds further upon the skill tree system introduced in Unity and gear upgrade system of Origins, allowing you to customize the assassin to fit your playstyle, whether you prefer stealth, open combat, ranged combat or a mix of the three. The world is also vast, more so than Origins, making it to where there is always something to do whether or not you wish to pursue the story. There are still some glitches with the game and the activities can become somewhat repetitive. However, it is on par with Fallout 4 or the Witcher 3 in terms of how flexible it is. New Game Plus also allows for players to pursue new paths and redo quests in a different way with the gear and skills the've acquired should they wish. Combat is also something that is challenging but rewarding. The good news is that it is very similar to Origins, making it easy to transition between the two games. The bad news is it may be slightly jarring if a player starts this after one of the earlier editions in the series. In general, it is a truly massive game packed with stuff to do with only the occasional glitch, repetitive quests and perhaps the learning curve of combat to hold it back.

no words can describe how amazing the game is

this is by far the best game in the series. the graphics are awesome, the story is literally indescribable. it made me feel a part of the game as if i was the character, i cried and laughed throughout all the scenes. i couldn't wait to get through the main plot, it wasn't a grindfest to get thought the story like it was in ac origins. theres so much to do in the main story and side quests, its ridiculous lol i have 86 hours into it and i finished the main quest and there's more to it. im going for the platinum, this game is worth the full price and worthy of me spending more on dlc so i can keep playing it. on top of that the world of greece in this game is beautiful

    Best AC Since Brotherhood

This is the first Assassin's Creed I've been able to get through fully since Assassin's Creed 3, which didn't hold up to the earlier games other than the introduction of sailing and ship-to-ship combat. Odyssey changes the game for Assassin's Creed by taking it from action-adventure to action-rpg, with dialogue options for every conversation (all easily skip-able if you're not into that), stats on armor and weapons, and different abilities unlockable through leveling. While I didn't play Origins, I believe Odyssey has the same inventory and combat system while introducing player choice to the story. The story is decent, pretty on-par with your average Ubisoft game, but maybe a little better than I'm used to with their games lately. What I really enjoy about this game is there is plenty to do without getting bogged down in a lot of meaningless junk tasks like the previous games. There are still plenty of generic "go kill this guy" type of mini-quests, but there are tons of small story side quests that have some sort of meaning to the world. Overall I really enjoyed it more than I thought I would, and it was a nice way to get back into the AC universe after playing the first 4-5 games and falling off the series. I hope the next installment follows a similar formula.

Decent game with a few faults

Ok. I liked and disliked different things about the new AC. Pro 1) It's a beautiful game ; the work they did to make it look good really paid off. 2) It's has VAST Map area and location ; you'll never get bored having to go to the same place over and over. 3) The Main Story line is relatively (video game short) , but there are so many side quests that you'll playing for a long time. Cons 1) The game sometimes goes off on a tangent ; it takes a while for the game to get back onto the Main Story. 2) Loading times are ridiculous. Seriously. 3) There are instances of Game freeze and sudden blue screens of death. SAVE OFTEN. I recommend saving at the end of your game play for the day. Not a quick save but a Main Save . 4) Grinding. It gets ridiculous , but you knew it was going to happen. 5) Leveling up too fast will cause lopsided game play for a time. You'll be the same level as an enemy but your gear will still be several levels prior; you'll still be trying to get the resources for an upgrade. Lopsided. There are other Pros and Cons but these are the ones that immediately come to mind. It's not a perfect . However, it's a great game to play to kill some time.

A great time with a slight issue

I kept reading about how this game forces you into micro transactions that ruin the game. I couldn't disagree more. Yes it's a grind, but I found the grind to be fairly normal to modern game development. (Dark Souls, Bloodborne, Red Dead, GTA, Monster Hunter) and a lot of these games don't seem to have the same gripe. I haven't finished the main story yet, but the story so far has been very gripping and flows very nicely. The battle system has a slight learning curve, but it benefits exploration of styles and using different tactics to complete objectives (I enjoyed the full frontal approach as well as stealth and a mixture of the two as well as several others I found) The voice acting is a bit flawed, but overall pretty good. There are few weird things in the game I don't feel worked the way they wanted it to but wasn't game killing (the romance side quests were weird, then dumb; many times the lead character says something that leans here in a direction that goes against the things she does ALL THE TIME) If you liked Origins, which I feel was better in someways and worse in others, you will probably like this game.

Have you ever wondered what ancient Greece was like? Every wonder what living in a land with mythical and ancient creatures was like ? This game is for you, the game players very similarly to AC Origins. if you like RPG based games this game has a huge amount of loot and progressions. The graphics in this game shine, some of the views you get from your bird or when you climb a mountain are just incredible to just stare at. Combat is hugely rewarding and satisfying, with some combat scenarios giving you the option to tackle them in many different ways. This game deserves all the praise its receiving.

    A sprawling epic

I was hesitant to pick up Odyssey after just spending 60+ hours in Assassin's Creed: Origins, however UBISoft have created an incredibly detailed and enormous world to play around in with Odyssey. This is a game which knows it's a game, giving players even greater leeway to act like a superhero (compare the abilities in this game with those in the previous entries--Kassandra/Alexios feel more like Superman than your typical assassin). The story is serviceable, but the game excels in the sense of exploration and the reward in climbing the next hill to see what is on the other side. Highly recommended.

I have been an AC fan since AC4 for ps3. Now i have most of them. Talking with some friends if it is worth it. Well, as I am a fan, decided to give a try. The twisted part is that it is an RPG. However, I feel it is a good twist, as it give you more options on how to play the story.
