The speed is decent enough to get things done, but far from fast. It's able to run your basic programs, browsers, office software. But tasks such as installing Microsoft Office took as much as an hour to complete. For the price, you can't expect much. I have purchased other laptops in this price range in the past with better performance and features, but it seems at the moment there aren't a lot available in stores. I probably wouldn't recommend this laptop unless it's strictly a PC for processing single tasks like email or small documents.

I do understand your disappointment if you are experiencing slow system speed or performance with the laptop. Certainly, the unit was designed to run popular computing applications without compromising system stability and performance. This issue is temporary during the initial WINDOWS setup and before installing cumulative WINDOWS Update, regardless what brand name of computer this may be. This may take a longer time depending on the network traffic from the update server and the stability of your high-speed internet service. Also, laptop will do several system reboot or restart during the update process. Once initial setup and WINDOWS Update installation completed, system speed or performance will be optimized. In order to maintain optimum system stability and performance, cumulative WINDOWS Update needs to be installed periodically. If you are accessing web applications, please make sure the unit has access to an established router and internet service is working properly since this will definitely affect system speed and performance. Great Computer for Home Use

Our old computer (circa 2009) was no longer able to function without being plugged in and was very slow. This computer fit our budget and allows him to keep enjoying his game

Great work computer and light gaming

Also downloaded WoW and the Sims4 and runs smoothly on medium quality but of course better on low. This will definitely not run advanced graphic games, but for my casual play It works when I'm not using it for excel or other programs.
